Avatar f tn I have been on duragesic pain patches 25 mcg for almost two years. I switched back to my regular doctor since they were gone for over 18 months. I have been taking Norco 10s 8 per day, and ativan and lithium and flexeril and trazodone. My new doctor doesn't think I should be on the patch since I am only 39. However, I was in a tragic automobile accident three years ago and almost died. I suffered fractures of T3 4 5, Fratuctres C 7, could have been paralyzed, but lucky.
Avatar n tn So I went to the vitamin store and got guava tea for anxiety and methalyn? tablets for sleep. I do not take ativan just had them leftover from fear of flying a couple of years ago. When someone mentioned the word w/d again I stopped the ativan. These last five days have been some of the hardest and longest days of my entire life. I have my support group meeting tomorrow night at church and that seems to help. The ambien works great!
Avatar f tn The next day i pick up my prescriptions then 3 days later i get a call from the pharmacy saying that my norco and ativan are ready to pick up, when i just picked them up 3 days ago. My question is, would the dr authorize both to be filled? What if it is the pharmacy screwing up and i go and get them will i be arrested?
7680419 tn?1399056811 t even remember the last time i had one. And only twice the first time I tried to come off the norco before joining this site. Is it addictive? Can it help if not abused. It's not my doc and I don't have an interest in making it one.
Avatar f tn 5 and got off-I did have withdrawls but I took a few days off of work and I managed. On and off I have had pain in my back and my neck and resorted to taking a few Norcos a day-now I find I am going through some withdrawls if I dont take it-I have been trying to cut down by taking half tablets. I still have about 20 8 mg Suboxone-sometimes I get off of the Norco and take slivers of it to detox.
630234 tn?1222279370 Ughhh, I feel like I am going out of my mind, last October I got into a really really really bad car accident, I have been on Lyrica, Norco, Oxycontin, Ativan, Xanax, Ambien, and also had Gastric Bypass surgery in september of 06' .... so besides all the supplemental vitamins and anxiety/depression from that... my doctors are cutting me from everything but my Ambien which I use to sleep.. I suffer from severe anxiety and have 5 pills of Norco left.
Avatar n tn I just wonder if I should go back to a taper after being c/t for 6 days. My use of Ativan was 1/2 to 1mg a night throughout my norco withdrawals (about a month) because I was ignorant to what they were and that they were addictive. Anyone who has become clean from Ativan use, have any advice for me? Thank you for any help.
Avatar n tn i have never developed a tolerence to ambien and have used it off and on for over 10 years///i still take around 2.5 mg and it works...it is not a drug to take and "stay up"..it is designed to be taken right before u get in the bed...drinking on it is a no no as u will black out.....and people do abuse it..take it a stay up and party and stuff...how i do not know as i am asleep 10 minutes later U r taking 3 drugs...r u sure it is the ambien? it could be a mixture?
10205477 tn?1409578591 I went ahead and started a new post. Today is 31 days off of Norco, I was taking gabapentin during this process for nerve pain control. I'm not sure if it was helping me with my anxiety cause I stopped taking that about 6 days ago and my anxiety has been terrible, probably the worst it has been throughout this whole process. I was prescribed Ativan for the anxiety but have only taken that a few times over the 31 days.
Avatar f tn I have a genuine panic disorder, diagnosed when I was about 15. I have taken Ativan off and on since then, nothing much longer than a month or so, and I never got addicted to it. I used it completely as needed, only if I felt a panic attack coming on. Ever since I quit taking the Norcos I feel the same type of panicky that I felt back then. Not sure if there is anyone that can relate that has a genuine panic disorder, but if you do, you'll know what I mean.
Avatar m tn can you see one dr for xanax and another one for ativan or something like it..I always run out of my xanax 1 to 2 wks early..I do not want to withdrawl and have horriable panic attacks what to do???
Avatar f tn Well.... I had planned to not take my morning Norco and take my Elimidrol. I woke up in so much pain I couldn't do it. I'm so mad at myself.... I did drink the Elimidrol when I would have taken the 2nd dose. I plan to take my mid evening Norco then drink the Elimidtol before bed. This will take me down to 3 again... Thursday when my daughter doesn't work (she'll be off until Saturday) I'm going to push hard to take nothing but the Elimidrol. My doctor did call in Visteril.
Avatar m tn When I was taken off of Norco 10's my doc used ativan to get through the withdrawal's but keep in mind my use was post major surgery and included Delaudid, Norco, that patch that delivers opiates morphine etc over a period of several months (I was in/out of hospital iCU etc.) Not a doctor and it all depends on how your body is and your other health conditions.
Avatar f tn I was on Norco 10/325mg and lortab 7.5/325mg for over four years.I originally got put on the Norco 10s for a foot injury. I stand on my feet nearly all of my shift at work. So it was absolutely necessary for me to use the pain pills. I even had to cut a hole in my shoe due to the pain. Well..The foot got better...but by then I was hooked on the "warm and fuzzy" feeling that the pain pills gave me... It was only 2 norco 10s twice a day at first... By the end....
Avatar n tn I just discovered today that Ativan is a benzo, I've been taking anywhere from 1/2 to 1 a night for the last 3 weeks so I can sleep while coming off the norco, which was going very well, until this morning when I woke up having this weird pulsating feeling in my body and head.
Avatar f tn I'm 42 been takin Vic and Norco off and on since 2008. I have had many ovarian surgergies and one just last month. I was taken the pills 5-7 10/325 norcos a day not just for pain but somedays just to get through my day and deal with just everyday issues. I was noticing I needed more and more just to have the same effect and I refused to go anymore than 7. Not to mention I have gained 18 pounds on this stuff.
Avatar n tn Last year the pain with the hips became very severe and so diabilitating that I was taking NORCO and Oxyodin just to get through the day, my job is very labor intensive. I haven't been taking the Oxy lately, about a month, but now that I'm back to work, the back issues have come back, and with that the pain med useage.
7680419 tn?1399056811 It actually was the root of alot of my anxiety, trying to control how i felt rather than just letting go and embracing and working through whatever feelings come to me, and when i live in recovery and work hard on positive thinking i feel well usually.
Avatar f tn What do I take first? I have Ativan( prescribed 20) , melotonian, immodium , Motrin and pm, and magnesium. Vitamin b and c. Am I good? Healthy stuff! , I wAnt to quit for my children and myself. They are my life. How I got this far is not good. Mentally I think I'll be okay. It's the physical I'm worried about. God bless. Will keep you all posted. I can't say enough Thank you!
Avatar m tn I started using that instead of Ativan, and I find it actually works better. Look into the Thomas recipe; it seems to help a lot of withdrawal symptoms for people. And stay hydrated. If you get dehydrated, everything is magnified.
Avatar f tn m tapering). At about the same time everyday (before I would take the norco) I feel a tightening in my chest. My pulse and blood pressure are fine??? Is this common for withdrawal? What can I do to make it better? I'm trying not to take any ativan for it. Thank you any support will help.
Avatar f tn Tonight I was cleaning out my med bag to ensure no more norco was lurking in there. I recall purging all the Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin, Clonadine, Valium, and oxycontin last time I went ct. To my delight, I found that I clung on to one bottle of hydroxyxine. I immediately thought "score", I'm sleeping tonight. I just can't remember if I had any drowsiness the next day or not after taking them. They were rx'd after my last major surgery so I could sleep.
Avatar f tn Hi Kim, Is it possible to get another refill, or maybe switch to a long acting benzo like Valium and slowly taper off. I went through Ativan a few years back, was on it a short time, and shocked at the problems it created. If you go the Valium route try to get off quickly. I'm on day 2 off Norco, had to use Valium and Clonidine. Have to get off the Valium soon. I also stopped Prozac C/T 3 weeks ago. Used it for migraine prevention but I hate the side effects.
10205477 tn?1409578591 Hi there and welcome...im on day 12 off Norco, and let me tell you I absolutely thought I was going to have an actual heart attack the anxiety was so bad...still is just not as often. I'm glad to hear you have something to take if it becomes overwhelming. Your definitely not alone...without being able to get support here I probably wouldn't have made it this far...are you able to sleep at all? I know I didn't sleep for about 4 days...horrible.
1542812 tn?1293382373 With this in mind I took only 1 to 1 and a half Norco a day starting around December 1. On December 18 I took my last Norco. I have been going through some wicked withdrawals which I was not expecting to be so bad since I had tapered down. Some of the reading I have done online suggests that since I was taking 4 Norco a day for several years during that period of time and actually at one point was taking Morphine this may extend the duration of the withdrawals and may intensify it.
Avatar f tn Do you know: Is klonopin an anti-anxiety med that works like an ativan or xanax? And what is the difference between the sleeping aid that is in Ambien and klonopin? Is Ambien more relative to what is in, say, Tylenol PM OTC? I am trying to find the least harmful sleeping aid. I take ativan now - 1 mg. to sleep. Is Ambien safer?
