1254306 tn?1270992213 She has had serious side effects from this. Auditory and visual hallucinations and also extreme paranoia. Since we have started titrating her off the clonazepam the auditory and visual hallucinations have subsided quite abit. She still sees people walking around (who aren't really there). She said they don't bother her. She only has 1 troublesome visual/auditory hallunication- a man who she watched kill a little girl and tells her shes next.
Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.
969042 tn?1259067775 I was wondering, I keep seeing hallucinations in my pereferial vision like spiders crawling and bright lights and circles of colours and designs. also I'm experiencing the sensation of bugs crawling on my skin with lots of itch, and an uncomfortable feeling like as if bugs were crawling under my skin. I know these things aren't happening. Is this part of withdrawal?

Avatar n tn could it be the ativan causing her to hallucinate? or perhaps the ativan is precipitating a previously hidden medical condition? I would not think that WD's would cause hallucinations especially after 2 weeks...good luck and keep us posted please!
Avatar f tn When sleeping drugs are suddenly withdrawn, anxiety, convulsions and hallucinations sometimes occur. Vivid dreams and nightmares may be a problem because the time spent in dream sleep increases. Sleeplessness will recur and may lead to a temptation to use the drug again. So you see how important it is to have your doctor's assistance to tapering off the Lorazepam. Do not try doing this yourself. Your doctor has the knowledge and medical experience to do this safely.
Avatar f tn Hi ativan(larazepam) is a benzo and it is one of the hardest benzoes to wean of and should be done extreamly slowly and with alot of support, I beg you to get your mum to another g.p shout............................... and let them hear that your not happy at the way your mum is. thinking of you both Janis.
Avatar f tn When I finally stopped I had about 3 nights without sleep and some little sort of hallucinations nothing bad though and I couldn't believe it. I am young compared to your dad though so I would be very carefull. Going from 10 to 6 is a risk I would NOT have taken I'm surprised. But now he's on that just taper him slowley so he doesn't even notice.
787079 tn?1285461767 The worst of the withdrawal lasted about two weeks--that was the auditory stuff, teeth clenching, and constant freaking out. The shakiness and dizziness and muscle cramps lasted about 4-6 weeks though. My doctor gave me a small amount of Ativan to help when it got really bad, but it really does very little compared to the klonopin--mostly just takes the edge of a little. You might have luck with GABA or L-theanine (I take them both together) to help with the panicking and anxiety.
Avatar m tn Recently she has been experiencing panic-type attacks and possible hallucinations. The doc says her Synthroid levels are not too high--that was her first thought--but I wonder. Has anyone else experienced hallucinations due to hormone imbalance?
Avatar n tn I feel jittery, paranoid, heart palpitations, nausea, and I a FREEZING cold. I do have a perscription for Ativan and started taking1/2 pil in the Am and 1/2 in the evening. 2052200 tn?1332429084 t know if I can help on this. I have Bipolar II and BPD and have had hallucinations but those are usually part of the symptoms. Most the times I'll see something following me around as clear as if it was day but its not. Its not there, just imagined and I know that but its still there. I've seen the faces and felt the being touched, constant shivers. But I've made up my own imaginings to make them rational. The only one that bugs is the auditory.

Avatar f tn Some people have psychiatric symptoms get worse or appear after taking an antipsychotic like a guy I just talked to today took a low dose of risperdal for anxiety and he started having hallucinations after taking it. Everyone is different really and their brains adjust to things differently.
Avatar f tn I took my .5 mg ativan and one benadryl for stuffy nose. Now wide awake and have to be up to work in 2 hours. Has this ever happened to anyone?? I also take my 12.5 zoloft in morning will this make me more jittery??

Avatar m tn 1. I take Abilify and Depakote, and sometimes psychoactive drugs have strange, rare side effects. 2. I am a kidney dialysis patient, and the Web tells me a very uncommon condition called dialysis disequilibrium syndrome, experienced during or after the treatments, can involve confusion, cognitive problems, or -- you guessed it -- hallucinations. I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts from readers.
Avatar f tn I started 5 mg Celexa 5 days ago and the doctor gave me .5 mg Ativan for just in case. My question is how long until the Celexa starts working? If I use the Ativan too often will it effect how the Celexa works? How hard are these to come off of?
Avatar f tn health anxiety but stress and my nana just passed away on Friday from liver cancer but before she did she kept seeing things little bugs crawling on her and the doctors said it was hallucinations because she was dying.
1564087 tn?1308947518 d have to find out the specifics of your diagnosis as hallucinations can occur in bipolar with psychotic features (and schizoaffective disorder such as I have) and there are many subtypes of bipolar and hallucinations and psychosis can occur in some. If you have concerns about the side effects of Seroquel it would be essential to speak to your psychiatrist and discuss what other medication might not be unsafe to take as regards heart disease.
Avatar n tn I am bipolar type 1 and I see shadows here and there and also hear voices whispers - this is enhanced by pot so I try not to go there any more. I would go to dr and talk with them about what you are seeing.
Avatar n tn my father is 74, highly diabetic, he fell and broke his left hip about 3 years back, a month back he fell again and broke his right hip-bone and right shoulder. He is home after the surgery but very weak and totally bedridden. He on and off speaks non-sanely....but as evening falls, he starts to hallucinate that he has fallen and is lying out in the open or on the terrace of the house and keeps asking to be carried in and gets quite irritated that no one is bringing him in....
Avatar n tn HI,I SMOKED SOME WEED WITH FRIENDS,I AM NOT A SMOKER NORMALLY AND I SMOKED BECAUSE IT WAS MY BDAY AND THEY WHERE SMOKING IT AND DRINKING AT THE SAME TIME,WHEN I WAS IN BED I HAD TERRIBLE HALLUCINATIONS I WAS SEEING PICTURES AND HEARING VOICES AND SOUNDS, I KEPT GETTING UP AND MY HEAD WAS REALLY SPINING,I COULDN'T FALL ASLEEP.SO I SAID TO MY FRIENDS AM NEVER SMOKING THAT THING AGAIN.
Avatar f tn I am learning so much about bipolar and I have found that I have, in fact, been having mild hallucinations my whole life. I have not talked a lot to anyone about it in my family or any of my friends. I'm afraid they will think I'm super crazy and reject me or not let me around their kids because they think I'm dangerous. I just want some insight about how to approach the subject. I really want my loved ones to understand what I'm going through.
Avatar f tn ve been through therapy, etc. and have been hospitalized against my will several times within the last 3 years but the mental health system is a joke where I live. Also, I do not believe in taking psychotropic medicine. I would like to say that I'm doing better depression-wise, no stress or anxiety, not as many mood swings, and don't cut anymore (but the urges are there & i can't be around sharp objects because of the temptation).
403156 tn?1290150018 I have been diagnosed as BP II for almost 3 years and have never experienced hallucinations until now. I feel like I see things in my peripheral vision that are really not there. I have also occasionally heard things as well. Mood wise, I feel very stable. So this is completely alarming. I was put on a medication for a heart arrhythmia and it said a rare side effect was hallucinations - so that is a possible explanation. Does anyone experience this while seemingly stable?
