I already take xanax, which is similar to ativan, at night and the first time I took them together I felt very weird and spacey in the morning.
I so feel for you.....I've had insomnia since my teens and sometimes will go for months with only a few hours of sleep a night too. I'm sure lack of sleep is a huge contibuter to how bad your feeling.
I'm a 39 male with major depression and GAD. I take Celexa 40mg, Ativan 1mg, and Trazodone 100mg at bedtime. But the meds don't seem to work for my insomina. Can I add unisom or not a good idea to take also? I hate call my dr. tommorrow and tell him the meds aren't working for me. I have taken Ativan, Trazodone, and unisom to help me sleep before. My doc switch the Celexa from morning to nighttime tonight. And I was taking Ativan 3x a day now only at night or when needed.
started every 4 minutes on tuesday and plenty of that was back pain 1cm dilated she gave me a sweep and it had no effect and yesterday they stopped all together, still at 1cm.
ativan,xanax, or any of the benzo's will keep you from going into withdraws... You will definately find the withdraws as soon as you stop benzo's all together... It takes about 3 days to go into full blown W/D...
i'm addicted to gravol really bad, i take 30 or more daily plus methadone at 50 mg and this is administered by my pharmacist, he doesn't know about my gravol addiction, i'm lost and don't know what to do
When I first started suffering from anxiety, I was prescribed Ativan and it nearly ruined my life. I became completely numb, followed by episodes of severe anxiety. After one month, when I realized that the Ativan was making me sicker, I went of immediately. I suffered some withdrawal symptoms and later learned that going "cold turkey" was not a good idea.
I began to get better, despite the withdrawal, but a few months later I had some very stressful experiences.
Do they exacerbate nausea? Also, I'm wondering about Gravol Ginger. Any downside to using ginger root? I can't handle regular gravol. Too dopey.
I as well have taken both Xanax and Ativan. I personally feel that the Ativan is better. I do not take it often. Only when I am having an attack coming. The biggest difference I felt in the two medications was that with Xanax, I woke up very groggy still not much calmer. Ativan I do not wake up groggy and I actually am relaxed.
I think you would benefit from trying it. IF you do not care for it than either ask to be put back on Xanax or a different one all together.

Ive taken gravol for almost a year on and off , the last 3 months i have been taking a large amount. I have taken 70 pills in the last 12 days. I realized i had an issue , and just didnt know how bad the withdrawls etc would be. i havent taken any gravol for 2 days now and plan to quit. I feel like absolute garbage right now. I cant eat , i can sleep , but all i want to do is sleep. which is very hard considering i have 2 children and work full time.
I was put on Ativan 11 years ago when I was in the hospital for 4 months after my lungs clasped, then I wake upon a vent and then dx'ed with Myathenisa Gravis ( this just a short version)
I told my doctor I can't sleep so he put me on Ativan to take .5 mg before going to bed. All this time until this year I been told by another it not a sleeping pill it's for anxiety. I'm not addicted to it because I hate swallowing pills all my life like some people hate milk or cheese.
but it only took 4 days before I was taking again. I am only up to 2 vicodin and 1 tramadol a day right now. I want to stop it all together but I do not know what to do. They gave me Ativan there and it seemed to work for me. All I did was sleep a lot. I did not feel the flu like symptons. I have ordered Ativan online so I can do this myself at home. What I need to know is what dose should I take. Can anyone help me out?
