I am 32 weeks pregnant and have struggled with panic attacks for the last 5 years off and on. 2 years ago i started off on.5 mg of ativan and have been on a steady intake of 2mgs. when i found out i was pg i tried so hard to stop...i wud get down to .5 mg but eventually go bak up.. i wud go 2 weeks without it eventually returning to it because i wud wake up in the middle of the nite with my heart pounding.
As I said they sometimes will switch you to valium and then taper off that rather than the ativan. Seizures are possible but not very common for someone on such a low dose. I have known many people to be on upwards of 10-16mg xanax a day and they are very likely to get seizures. You should make sure that you are not alone during your wd too just in case you do have a seizure someone will be there to help. I think youll be fine though. For my first pregnancy I made it to about 3.5 months before I started taking medication. I took Klonopin as sparingly as I could and I took Prozac. I don't remember taking the klonopin for very long and certainly not the entire rest of the pregnancy. The prozac was a low dose....I want to say 10 or 20 mg but honestly it was so long ago I can't remember. I tried very hard not to take the klonopin though.
during a professional detox, most hosptials or clinics will use right around the same standard procedure...i went through a medically supervised detox and i was given lorazepam. the ativan will help with the anxeity, restessness, the muscel spasms/cramps/aches, insomnia, and other mental wd symptoms, you just have to be very careful in how long you actively use the ativan as it is very addictive and the wd's are horrendous and can be life threatening..
t make sense to me because I lowered the dose for about 5 days last week and it was working fine and when I started getting anxious again I upped my dose to regular level and all of sudden I don't feel the effects. The only thing that keeps me calm is when I take 50mg of benadryl along with my Ativan. Since once again I could not get a hold of my doctor I ran this by mother who is a nurse and she said that it would be ok. Has anyone else gone through this?
My new prescriber at my local mental health clinic took me off the Thorazine and changed the Ativan to 0.5. Lately my anxiety has been getting worse. I find it takes me hours to fall asleep and my thoughts are racing constantly. I have a hard time driving because my thoughts seem to go so fast through my mind I can't figure out what any of it means and I try to focus on my thoughts taking my mind off the road. My Ativan is a PRN and I am not prescribed enough to take one daily.
I've had anxiety and depression since I was little. I am now 25 yrs old and I'm 11 weeks pregnant. I've gone on and off anxiety and depression medication for my whole life, and I was medication free for a few months before I got pregnant (I didn't want to deal with pills anymore- needed a break). Now I am experience shortness of breath, I feel like I can't breathe in all the way like I'm suffocating- it makes me tingle and dizzy.
re at work BUT my heart still starts pounding and I have difficulty getting a deep breath (which is the reason for the original Ativan) so I split a .25 Xanax in half and take that during the day. That's a very small amount but it doesn't make me as tired and evens out my heartbeat. Am I doing myself great harm by combining these two drugs in one 24 hour period? BTW, these heart poundings and shallow breaths have no real concrete reason.
Attacks sometimes lasting less than an hour and sometimes all day. I was getting some relief for about 2 or 3 weeks. I then began to feel some breakthrough anxiety symptoms even staying on this dosage routine- shortness of breath, shaking and horrible nausea. I took my dose to .25 every 3 hours instead of 4 and it helped. Mind you I wake up at night and have to continue the schedule or I feel sick. This has all been going on for almost 6 weeks now.
In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day if needed. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it. I've been on Klonopin before and all that did was make me fall asleep (even on a very low dose), and at least with Ativan I feel as though I can function without feeling so tired.
Hi, I was going to run out of my 5/325 percocets, so I tapered off over the last few days instead of taking as many as I normally would. I get 100 and their supposed to last a month. Well I had months after my husband left and a back injury to where I just used them for a lift, so I could function!!! Well today since I'm out and I know my doc will freak If I tell him I'm out I feel kind of chilled, my face is hot and I'm a little depressed and slightly anxious at the same time.
and I decided it was time to get a good night sleep. Starting me immediately on Ativan and Celexa and weening me off of the Ativan in the first month stopped my night terrors in there place. And for the first time, my family and I noticed those little oddities of mine were gone! I was happy, carefree, and NOT TIRED! This was 5 years ago. Ive been at the same dose of Celexa for 4 years. If I forget to take it for a few days I am angry, aggitated, and yes... Have night terrors again.
I have a 17 year old daughter who suffers from Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and severe anxiety and panic attacks. She takes 1 mg of Ativan twice a day if needed when she feels an episode coming on or if an episode has started. In the past 9 weeks she has taken approximately 20 ativan when she was having an episode of vomiting or panic.
that's a really low dose of Ativan and Ativan generally takes quite awhile to take effect, possibly an hour or two. I've tried trazodone too and that doesn't do much either - it's an antidepressant with sedation as a side effect, so they figure it will work but a lot of times it doesn't. If the trazodone doesn't work don't bother with it.
will start tomorrow im starting at 25mg but im cutting it into 1/4 four eight days then half for eight days then full.. its because i am such a light weight and always react to meds.
Hey there, anyone know if taking Ativan (lorazepam) 1 to 2 days before a blood test for serum creatinine levels would have any effects on results?
My VL is 22,750,000 as well my iron levels are VH near VVH

My depression is under control at this point but the doctor says I will have to quit taking ativan. That worries me because of my anxiety and stress attacks as I call them due to my Huntington's Disease.
My questions
Am I a good candidate for TX with a good chance of remission?
Is their anything that stands out in my case to any of you (red flags etc...)?
