i am currently 12 weeks preg.i have severe panic attacks i have been taking ativan . could it harm my baby?
She is now hallucinating often. She hardly ever sleeps. The drs have her on klonopin and Ativan but nothing helps her sleep. She has slept two hours in 50. Is this normal? Should we try sleeping meds without the drs prescribing it?
I took perscribed 1mg ativan 3 times in the past 2 weeks to help me get to sleep. each time i took it was seperated by at least 3 or 4 days. i took one about 30 minutes ago and i am not feeling sedated/tired at all. could i be tolerant to it? would i be okay to quit taking it altogether, or would i need to ween it off?
Have been on Ativan for 5 weeks,starting at 4 mg a day for 3 weeks,now down to 2,but I`m kinda shakey,
and display minor withdrwal symptoms.Changing over to Valium today,10mg a day,and starting Zoloft,25mg.
Question....once the Zoloft kicks in,I believe as early as a week or so,will it help ease the Ativan,Valuim withdrwal.
Also,I don`t reallly have much in the way of info as to managing these drugs.Should I stay at 10mg Valuim for a few days,then try to continue tapering down....
You are very right and also very wise to realize that you need to get off the Xanax. Xanax is used for SHORT TERM USE only. You've been taking it for five years! I understand when you say you think it saved your life, but there are much better and safer alternatives out there for sleep. After about 4 months, Xanax loses it's efficacy.....meaning it does nothing for you anymore, but you must keep taking it to ward off the withdrawl symptoms from it!
Try and focus you energy on something else. Talk to your doctor about your fears and concerns. Maybe they provide some alternatives to ease your mind.
I'm 52 years old on Triple Treatment: Peg/Riba/Vic for the first time. Was already on antidepressants years before treatment but doc increased the dosage on week number 2. I have a struggle with spending every other minute worrying. The anxiety is intense. I know the majority of it is coming from the treatment meds but how do you train your mind to combat the nerves? I have yet to find a fitting "distraction" that doesn't bring me right back to square one.

Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right place.
My problem is trying to withdrawal from lamictal. I went from 50mg to 37.5mg and started getting really depressed with dark thoughts. I went back up to 50mg for 5 or 6 days and today went to 75mg. It's not seeming to get better, I'm crying and having panic attacks, I feel unreal and "lost". I've tapered off of ativan, effexor and abilify and have NEVER encountered such a dark place.
Some people, for whatever reason (including those for whom interferon has not worked), do like to try alternatives and some are WAY more effective and better than others.

t tell you ativan is the boogey man, it helps and you do seem to have an awareness about using it. Ativan is a Benzodiazipiem<sp and it has dangers like most drugs out there. Particularly withdrawing from them, causes seizures in heavy usages. I think in most cases you should listen to your doctor. If you don't trust your doctor you should consider finding a new one. I as well have taken both Xanax and Ativan. I personally feel that the Ativan is better. I do not take it often. Only when I am having an attack coming. The biggest difference I felt in the two medications was that with Xanax, I woke up very groggy still not much calmer. Ativan I do not wake up groggy and I actually am relaxed.
I think you would benefit from trying it. IF you do not care for it than either ask to be put back on Xanax or a different one all together.

Hi again. I was wondering if anyone takes Ativan daily? I was told I could take this along with the Zoloft until the Zoloft kicks in. That just seems odd to me but...........it works. I didn't take it today just to see what I felt like and I've been nervous and anxious all day. I'm just confused on how long to wait before the Zoloft works on it's own (it's been 3 weeks & I know it can take a month or more) and when I'll be able to NOT use the Ativan.

im not a doctor, but im taking ativan for years. The Ativan works for 4 hours , how long it stays in system about up to 3 days.it depands on how many mg you took .
instead of talking more , try to skip the ativan , instead of 3 times a day, try 2 pills a day for few days.The mdication will start to work again. Your body just get used to those specific meds.It is very easy to get used to it and get hook on those meds.Just be careful.
Both gave me horrible side effects. The she prescribed me .5 Ativan and Lexapro. Ativan works for a little bit but whenever I take .5 mg of Lexapro it seems to exaggerate the anxiety. I started taking the medications for 4 days now . Is it possible to have any withdrawal symptoms from taking Ativan? I am determined to find something like herbal supplements to help me with the anxiety. Please help me. Thank you.
