Avatar f tn I checked with pharmacist and he said both Metoprolol and Atacand have shortness of breath side effects and spoke again with my dr and he said I should continue for a while.... because I have been using them for 3 month now... any suggestions?
88793 tn?1290227177 Never heard of it. (And I frequent websites with thousands of diabetics). Is there a special reason your doctor is concerned about your kidneys? The best protection for your kidneys is the same thing that protects against other diabetic complications: Well-controlled blood sugar.
Avatar n tn Your father needs to follow his doctor's orders. Three yrs on these meds and so far no side effects I would not worry. As for side effect for long use? BP meds have to be taken long term otherwise the side effect " without" meds could be a stroke or heart attack. As for the natural stuff, it depends how high your father's BP is, and what his doctor says.
Avatar m tn I'm 65 yo male and am reasonably fit for my age. A little overweight at 90Kg. Over past 10 years have tried many different BP meds. Some work well but have side effects. Was taking Zanidip /Zircol for a while and it seemed to work Ok - side effects were bad rash on calves, blocked up head at night, dry mouth and love life went downhill. Dr changed me to Minipress which totally re-ignited the love life (I felt 18 again) and seemed to control the BP OK.
Avatar f tn Might be worth investigating some other possibilities too though, as the anti-convulsants do have a number of side effects (most fade within 3-6 weeks or thereabouts) and aren't without risk. Many people find these drugs make them too sleepy during the day.
Avatar n tn What does her doctor say? I would follow her dr.s advice.
Avatar n tn bluish discoloration of the fingers/toes/nails, severe tiredness, mental/mood changes (e.g., depression, confusion, memory problems), numbness/tingling, decreased sexual ability, trouble breathing, swelling of the feet/ankles, vision changes, unexplained/sudden weight gain.
Avatar f tn What r the treatment my doctor said IV.but I C where there's pills so confused and really wish I knew what my numbers match.Thank you.
Avatar f tn It could be a side effect of the methadone or even an allergic type reaction to it. I remember when I took Macrobid (antibiotic) for a urinary infection, I had a high fever (102.3) every time I would take it, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to stop it immediately because I was having an allergic reaction to it. As it turned out, my father had had this same type of reaction to it a couple years before.
730826 tn?1317943334 Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?
Avatar f tn Never hurts to tell your doctor, but i wouldn't be worried sounds like normal side effects to me........ Best to you going forward.
1286779 tn?1400012806 She went to a doctor yesterday about her hair and the doctor told her that it was because of this medication (Lydrica) But I have seen all side effects and none talk about hair lost. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
Avatar n tn I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
Avatar f tn I wouldn’t be shy about discussing any problems you’re experiencing with your doctor; IFN has a rather extensive side effect profile, so your doctor shouldn’t be surprised it you’re having some problems with side effects. It’s so important to make yourself as comfortable as possible, to give you the best shot of success. Others will hopefully chime in later with their own observations… this board gets a little slow sometimes on weekends.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
