atacand

Avatar f tn I checked with pharmacist and he said both Metoprolol and Atacand have shortness of breath side effects and spoke again with my dr and he said I should continue for a while.... because I have been using them for 3 month now... any suggestions?
88793 tn?1290227177 Atacand HTC [candesartan + hydrochlorothiazide] may raise blood sugars. Consult with your pharmacist regarding Atacand drug interactions with ANY and ALL drugs/supplements/herbs/vitamins you are taking which may elevate blood sugars. If none exists consult with your doctor on switching to another bp medication.
Avatar n tn Your father needs to follow his doctor's orders. Three yrs on these meds and so far no side effects I would not worry. As for side effect for long use? BP meds have to be taken long term otherwise the side effect " without" meds could be a stroke or heart attack. As for the natural stuff, it depends how high your father's BP is, and what his doctor says.
Avatar f tn Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal. At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March. It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. I am going to my doctor first thing Monday but just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?
Avatar n tn I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works. On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.
Avatar f tn I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker. Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal! So when I saw this trial I was really curious.
Avatar f tn I myself am taking wellbutrin sr and have been experiencing the same side effects along with feeling like i am in a elevator not sure if these are normal side effects or not... but the plus side of it i have been losing weight with it..
1557045 tn?1294555036 Had full blood works done, everything was normal except creatinine which was higher than it should be. That night I did go to the gym, plus I read the Atacand can increase creatinine levels. I am mainly after an answer to my sudden dizziness and right arm/hand weakness. The right arm weakness appeared for 2 days before the dizziness hit. I went to see 2 doctors to see what they thought, both couldnt give me a diagnosis.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your reply to my comment regarding Monocor and Generics plus side effects. As of today, I am now taking Lopresor another form of Metoprolol.
2035835 tn?1336300786 My body adjusted to the side effects over time. But what it also did was prevent my body from sweating, and I still feel cold all the time. Also side effects from the medications. I didn't lose any weight unfortunately, I was kinda hoping for one good perk out of dealing with all the tingling. sometimes the sensation was so strong it was painful.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
Avatar f tn Might be worth investigating some other possibilities too though, as the anti-convulsants do have a number of side effects (most fade within 3-6 weeks or thereabouts) and aren't without risk. Many people find these drugs make them too sleepy during the day.
Avatar f tn the cycle of sx in approximate order of occurrence over 5 months: 1) bad poop, 3 ways= color, texture, frequency (and expelled force) followed by anal bleeding 2) anxiety and insomnia- inability to sleep more than 3 hours plus jaw clenching and night grinding 3) gag factor, nausea, difficulty swallowing pills 4) morning sickness, vomiting up the pills 5) uncontrollable weepiness 6) hair starts falling out 7) funny metallic taste in mouth all the time.
Avatar f tn Jails, institutions or death are the most common long term side effects I have seen, or the person quits and has a program of recovery. Why do you ask?
Avatar m tn I am a week into the same routine...no sides to report here. From what I understand it can take a few weeks or maybe you won't have any sides at all. The side effects from this regimen, if you even have any, are generally mild, headache and fatigue are the most common.
Avatar f tn Iv always suffered with constipation and it gets so much worse during pregnancy it's unreal, haven't had BM in 2 weeks now (sometimes it's longer). I took 1 dulcolax tablet on Monday night, woke up at 4am with stomach cramps. It's been 2 days and the diarrhea is just going away but iv still not had a bowel movement. Went to see a gastro doctor yesterday who prescribed me Docusate 100mg (Colace).
Avatar m tn I'm 65 yo male and am reasonably fit for my age. A little overweight at 90Kg. Over past 10 years have tried many different BP meds. Some work well but have side effects. Was taking Zanidip /Zircol for a while and it seemed to work Ok - side effects were bad rash on calves, blocked up head at night, dry mouth and love life went downhill. Dr changed me to Minipress which totally re-ignited the love life (I felt 18 again) and seemed to control the BP OK.
Avatar f tn Is there something that I can do to combat the yucky side effects? Also, what about surgery? I do have a Dr. at Mayo that suggests a consult with the Neurosurgeon. I'd appreciate any feedback or ideas... Thanks much!
Avatar m tn I have been on Lexapro several times over the last 4 years for 6 months to 2 years at a time. I am having problems with the sexual side effects and the weight gain. It's actually less of a "weight gain" than a shift in body composition. My pants are too tight and my shirts are more fitted but I haven't actually gained a pound. I am a competitive runner and haven't changed my exercise or eating habits over the last 2 years.
1815939 tn?1377991799 There are many other side effects and I am listing only the side effects I had. If listing these side effects can help anyone know that they are not alone dealing with weird side effects, then it is worth it to list them. And none of us should have to put up with the docs telling us the drugs don’t cause the side effects we have. Cardiovascular: Premature heart beats; Frequent episodes of rapid heart rate (tachycardia 180 beats per min); swollen ankles and feet Dermatological: Rash …..
Avatar f tn I am half way on 24 weeks tx (type B 2) Some weeks all horrible side effects come out, other weeks- full of energy. Had bad-ish sx earlier, but then it is hard to say if it is over- another 3 month to go. Hair falls out- had to cut it short- which in my case always suit me better anyway, so everyone loves it.Only good news- docs said I am UMD since 4 weeks on tx! So when I am down, I look at it as temporary thing, even when it is very hard.
