So I am back on the Atacand to try and get this under control again.
I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker.
Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal!
So when I saw this trial I was really curious.
I too have used Lyrica (pregabalin) for chronic pain. While it was prescribed for one particular pain problem, as a side effect it has managed to reduce my neckpain and relax the otherwise ridiculously tight neck and upper shoulder muscles that stabilise the neck.
The effect didn't kick in strongly for me until I was using fairly high daily doses of 450--600mg/day. I have found that a single 300mg dose in the morning does the trick, usually.
I have taken all test and my heart seem ok and vessels are clear but my left chest pain just above the left breast does not go away. pain sometimes extend to left arm. also i have a left leg slight partial tightness feeling, Shortness of breath, Chest heaviness, fatigued, sleepy and irritable, Excessive daytime drowsiness, . Doctor says nothing is wrong!
What does her doctor say? I would follow her dr.s advice.
Can all these symptoms be related? Or what is causing the light headedness with pressure/slight pain on the base of my head? Presently taking Atacand 4mg since August 2011.
Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal.
At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March.
It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. I am going to my doctor first thing Monday but just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?
He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
I am 38 yrs old. WT 222 ht 5'4, diabetic and taking lipitor, and 2 mg atacand. Female and Hispanic. I have had a constant cough for quite a while. I would like to know why?
Off it for a week now and still really tired, various nerve pain, joint pain, muscle fatigue...seems to cycle, weak and dizzy, some blurred vision but it's all better than it had been just seems it should be gone since the meds are out of my system. I'm also dehydrated for no reason [drinking lots of water and electrolytes, no caffeine, no fever, no vomiting,etc.]. Unable to function normally, doctor doesn't seem to care or have any explanation.
I already take Efexor XP 300mg daily, Alapam 30mg daily and medication for high blood pressure, Aldomet 500mg night and morning; Atacand 16mg daily, Dapatabs 30mg daily and 1800mg Caltrate following a bone density test, Somac 2 x 40mg tablets daily for Barrett's Disease and have a yearly endoscopy. Stress factors contribute to my general feeling of unwellness. I suffer with fibromyalgia and have arthritis in the spine and knees.

Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and while it may address the pain due to inflammation, it does nothing for the "cause" and like ALL NSAIDs, it may increase cardiac risks (like the COX-2 inhibitors.) All drugs have side effects.
I got to tell you honestly - I suffered alot - Kitty here and I had a duscussion about magnesium and I started it for bloating. Not only has it relieved my bloating issues but the joint /muscle pain and anxiety is almost gone. I was not sure if the magnesuim was the reason - I did some quick research and it is the known to resolve these issues. It was almost immediate - with in 3 to 4 days but I no longer need any meds for anxiety right now and I feel I can move again.
When people say that they get muscle pains as a sign of early HIV infection, is that like a sore leg muscle with twitches and bad back (not from exercise but similar to those feelings) or is it aches and pains like if you have a fever and the flu?

I have swelling of the upper arm. It is muscle pain and began after I was inactive for 7 months and then became active again. My upper arms were swollen on the outer side first and I could not sleep on my sides because it was too sore. I went to a rheumatologist and was told I had frozen shoulder and should go to physical therapy. I felt that the reason I could not move my one arm was because my arm was swollen and it would go against that area and was painful when I moved it.
