Avatar f tn I did a little better on Neurontin as far as less weight gain and less laziness, but I switched to a sister-medication known as Topamax. It is an anti-seizure medication just like Lyrica and Neurontin, but it doesn't have the same type of side effects and it helps with the nerve pain and migraines that Fibromyalgia can cause.
Avatar f tn I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker. Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal! So when I saw this trial I was really curious.

Avatar f tn I think there should be a specialty in medicine for people suffering from medication side effects and for those who are hypersensitive to medications. I need to be on medication for high blood pressure. I have tried HCTZ, toporal XL, Verapamil, Atacand, and am now on Coreg. The doctors are getting fed up with me because I can't tolerate the side effects, but I can't help it. I wish they could feel what I feel so they would know this is no picnic for me.
Avatar n tn I got sick and tired of feeling like a Zombie because of the Medication. I seem ok with my Atacand blood pressure Medication. I decided I didn't want to feel unwell no more and have a better quality of life and to feel well. I turned to an experienced naturepath who is also certified as a professional. She put me on a few natural alternatives and diet. I also stepped up my excercise regime.

Avatar m tn t remember the numbers) so he put me on Atacand to help bring it down. At the same time I began changing my diet and started exercising regularly and ultimately lost 60lbs and was off the Atacand after a few months. Anyways, since then I've gained the weir back and my blood pressure has once again become high. Last reading was 154/101 as of last weekend. So I am back on the Atacand to try and get this under control again.

Avatar n tn It was excruciating pain in my throat and ear. With medication, the blisters disappeared, but my sense of taste was all fouled up when I was able to eat again. At first, things tasted metallic or chemically, then that subsided and things tasted like cardboard, and now, I can taste mostly extremely salty or sweet food. In addition, the worst problem I'm having now is that I have the feeling that there is something stuck in my throat...something big.

1557045 tn?1294555036 I had a CT Angiogram done for any Aortic disection or Aortic aneurysm, all came back clear, my aorta and all related vessels were within normal range. My cardiologist put me on Atacand as my blood pressure tended to be around 130/70, he advised me while my blood pressure wasnt excessively high, that taking Atacand would lower it a little and make my heart beat with greater efficiency.
Avatar f tn Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal. At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March. It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. I am going to my doctor first thing Monday but just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?
Avatar m tn My BP is under control 110/70, with a low dosage beta blocker and Atacand. I also stopped all weight lifting---something that I have done for over 35 year. Recently, i have the urge to weight lift as my upper body has literally shrunkj. My question is if I restricted my lifting dumb bells only, a max of 30 minutes 3x per week and not to exceed 25 pounds, would i be putting my self at any risk? I speed walk every day for an hours and i have no other restrictions.
Avatar n tn He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.
Avatar f tn I would also expect that your medication is a T4 type only. Frequently when taking T4 type thyroid meds, the T4 is not being converted adequately to T3 and the FT3 levels is out of balance with the FT4. If this is the case then it is most likely that you need to add a source of T3 to your meds, in order to increase your FT3 level. A good thyroid doctor will test and adjust your FT3 and FT4 levels as necessary to relieve symptoms without being constrained by resultant TSH levels.
188761 tn?1584567620 If it started around the time she began her diabetes medication she may be experiencing an allergic reaction. You may want consider changing medication to see if this alleviates the problem. What has her doctor said? "I am very concerned if it has some thing to do with the end stage renal disease / Kidney failure." Why do you think this? Has she been diagnosed with kidney problems? There is not enough information in your post for us to make a comment.
Avatar n tn Yes, it's the exact same ingredients, there's just more of the oxycodone in the 30mg tablet.
