Hello , I am 43 year old and have high blood pressure i regularly take high BP medicines metropolol and Atacand 16 plus. I have taken all test and my heart seem ok and vessels are clear but my left chest pain just above the left breast does not go away. pain sometimes extend to left arm. also i have a left leg slight partial tightness feeling, Shortness of breath, Chest heaviness, fatigued, sleepy and irritable, Excessive daytime drowsiness, . Doctor says nothing is wrong!
I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker.
Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal!
So when I saw this trial I was really curious.
What does her doctor say? I would follow her dr.s advice.
Global LV function mildly depressed with estimated EF of 45-50% Mild to moderate mitral regurgitation and mild tricupsid reguritation assoc with mild pulmonary Hypertension. NO pericardial effusion. Blood tests showed D Dimers at 318 (wnl). I am being treated with ATacand and Metoprolol 25mg; I still from time to time become a bit lightheaded; wondering if I'm being medicated properly???? Should I be doing anything else? Should I excercise? Would this help EF?
Hi all I am 50 (will b 51 in few months), with high bp managed with Atacand plus and last visit my doc said im perimenopausal.
At the end of last year my cycle missed then it came on 18th Feb and lasted till 22nd March.
It then returned couple days ago and I've spent the day with horrible cramps and each evening around 6pm it's as it a tap has been turned on and I bleed profusely. I am going to my doctor first thing Monday but just wondered if anyone else has had this experience?
He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.

I already take Efexor XP 300mg daily, Alapam 30mg daily and medication for high blood pressure, Aldomet 500mg night and morning; Atacand 16mg daily, Dapatabs 30mg daily and 1800mg Caltrate following a bone density test, Somac 2 x 40mg tablets daily for Barrett's Disease and have a yearly endoscopy. Stress factors contribute to my general feeling of unwellness. I suffer with fibromyalgia and have arthritis in the spine and knees.
I am on 25 mg atenolol that was changed from atacand in emerg for hbp. Could these be thyroid issues .??
I am now on betaloc 100mg half a tablet / 12 hours and atacand 8mg at lunch time. my BP is average 130/80 and my HR is average 70 bpm. I still suffer from these attacks of irregular heart beats lasting fo seconds and without any other symptoms. another doctor advised me to do an upper GIT endoscopy or barium meal. During the last 3-4 weeks of my pregnancy I was diagnosed preeclamptic/eclamptic. I delivered a week ago and 2 days after I had these horrible headaches with a burning sensation on my neck/back area. My blood pressure was 162/132 I went to the ER and they gave me meds to lower it. I'm now on blood pressure medication...5 pills a day...2 different meds. Has anyone experienced post partum hypertension?
I was just wondering if I truly have hypertension? Or could it be White Coat Hypertension? Or could it be prehypertension as I have a family history?
