atacand hct side effects

I checked with pharmacist and he said both Metoprolol and Atacand have shortness of breath side effects and spoke again with my dr and he said I should continue for a while.... because I have been using them for 3 month now... any suggestions?

I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.

My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!

Atacand HTC [candesartan + hydrochlorothiazide] may raise blood sugars. Consult with your pharmacist regarding Atacand drug interactions with ANY and ALL drugs/supplements/herbs/vitamins you are taking which may elevate blood sugars. If none exists consult with your doctor on switching to another bp medication.

You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or tiredness as your body adjusts to the medication. You may also experience diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or cough. Your father needs to follow his doctor's orders. Three yrs on these meds and so far no side effects I would not worry. As for side effect for long use? BP meds have to be taken long term otherwise the side effect " without" meds could be a stroke or heart attack. As for the natural stuff, it depends how high your father's BP is, and what his doctor says.

I did consult with an Ayurvedic Doctor, who prescribed some compounds, non toxic, no side effects. They usually go to the root cause, and will prescribe more than one compound since all systems are involved or most. Mine did prescribe some, but I can't remember which ones. It worked, but I became allergic and stopped. Meanwhile, I am seeing a Medical Qi Gong practitioner, lost 25 lbs in two months, and keep loosing water. I am no longer puffy and water logged.

I am pretty constipated sometimes even after as much water I drink. I have been reading alot on the diovan hct side effects and come to find out that all of my problems are from it. I am going to have to find a new bp medicine. I sincerely thank you for your time to reply.

Vet is suggesting epogen but I have read Epogen can have side effects and can quit working for an animal anywhere from 1-4 months of treatment. I am enquiring about an iron supplement to try first instead of injections, b/c her HCT has not follow under 20 as of yet . Vet said it was not at crucial stage as of yet so would an iron supplement be ok to try right now , of course with the ok of her vet ?

I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker. Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal! So when I saw this trial I was really curious.

I am on Benicar HCT 40/20 mg as well, it is a great drug and has almost no side effects. You make it sound like you may be having some anxiety attacks as a result of your experience. One of the things you get with anxiety attacks is a release of adrenaline which can cause flushing on the face, back and upper torso, it's very common and most likely causing your issue. Try to stay calm and mention the anxiety to your doctor as they can treat that with meds as well.

I am very chilled and body aches. Has anyone else on this treatment had these side effects and what did your doctor advise. I go see my doctor at the transplant center Friday. Thanks so much.

Might be worth investigating some other possibilities too though, as the anti-convulsants do have a number of side effects (most fade within 3-6 weeks or thereabouts) and aren't without risk. Many people find these drugs make them too sleepy during the day.

Hi, I had a second ablation about 9 months ago and it apparently was successful because I have been in normal sinus rhythm since then. the problem I'm experiencing is with my heart rate. since the ablation proceedure my heart rate elevated to 100-110 bpm. my EP prescribed cardizem cd and it is keeping it under control now. the side effects are what's causing me problems. my toes and lower legs are feeling numb.

I'm 65 yo male and am reasonably fit for my age. A little overweight at 90Kg. Over past 10 years have tried many different BP meds. Some work well but have side effects.Was taking Zanidip /Zircol for a while and it seemed to work Ok - side effects were bad rash on calves, blocked up head at night, dry mouth and love life went downhill. Dr changed me to Minipress which totally re-ignited the love life (I felt 18 again) and seemed to control the BP OK.

I was wondering about the progression of side effects during treatment, if the sides are mild during the first few weeks do they stay mild or can the sides get increasingly worse during the duration? I am now on week 4 of interferon/ribavirin for 24 weeks. I have heard things get more difficult and was wondering what to expect. I understand the sides can really vary from person to person. When do blood counts typically drop? This riba rash I keep hearing about when does that typically show up?

Also, may want to look into your lab reference ranges on the HGB/HCT- I believe the min. is 39 HCT and 12 HGB.

What does her doctor say? I would follow her dr.s advice.
