Avatar m tn I am going in for gallbladder removal in 4 days and no one has told me to stop taking Benicar HCT beforehand. I'm on a 20/12.5 dose once daily, so it's pretty low, but won't it possibly cause problems with the anaesthesia/barbituates or if they have to give me morphine afterwards (not likely, but possible)?
88793 tn?1290227177 Atacand HTC [candesartan + hydrochlorothiazide] may raise blood sugars. Consult with your pharmacist regarding Atacand drug interactions with ANY and ALL drugs/supplements/herbs/vitamins you are taking which may elevate blood sugars. If none exists consult with your doctor on switching to another bp medication.
Avatar n tn ve been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for years, it does a great job on my BP, down from 140/90 to my current 90 day average of 106/65, however it has no effect on heart rate. You could take a beta blocker, they will lower your HP, partly by lowering your heart rate but they may make you feel excessively fatigued.
Avatar n tn t think your BP meds would do this. I too had HP, around 150/90 and started taking Benicar HCt 40/12.5, pretty much the same med you are on. My BP now runs 110/70, in fact it dropped almost immediately upon starting the meds with no side effects. Your BP has dropped considerably, but at 130 systolic you are still in the pre-hypertensive range and not yet down to a normal rate of 120/80 so I would not think your BP is doing this to you.
Avatar f tn I read about a trial where they were using Candesartin (Atacand) to prevent scar tissue from forming in the liver, as it's an angiotensin receptor blocker. Atacand saved my life. I had heart failure, almost on the transplant list. I found a great doc at UCDavis (after firing one in Auburn who almost killed me), who put me on the Atacand. My heart is now normal! So when I saw this trial I was really curious.
Avatar m tn I know that HCT can raise cholesterol levels, but usually only at higher doses than I take (12.5 mg per day), and then only on average by 11%. My diet and weight did not change during the five months between blood work. I may have gained about 4 pounds in that period of time and my intake of sweets increased a bit (as it often does during the winter months), but no significant change. I generally eat quite healthy-- lots of fresh vegetables, very little saturated fat, etc.
Avatar f tn 2 TIMES DAILY, LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20/12.5 MG 2 TIMES DAILY. am also a diabetic , this is under control. the last time i went to my doctor my blood pressure was 156/66 and my doctor was disappointed as was i. am overweight and she chewed me out for not exersising like i should and agree to this. since my last doctor visit i have started walking 30 min. a day on my treadmill hoping to get it under control being walking for over a week now .
Avatar m tn pressure was a little high 150/90 so increased bp medicine to benicar 40mgs with hct of 12.5. pressure came down to 115/75 - thought it was reaction to medicine - stopped it for a week - and symptoms stayed. thought it was stress - started exercising 30 minutes a day - running - some help but symptoms come back - at times when look down get dizzy or lie in bed. have been playing alot of golf and swinging differently - but no back pain - some neck stiffness from new swing.
Avatar f tn 5 about one week ago and takes three bp meds; atenonol 25 mg, diovan hct 325/12.5, amlodipine besylate 5mg, also started Ranexa 5 weeks ago 500mg twice a day (for angina). His bp now is 110/60 range but with the dizziness on Monday it was 84/52. Would the nitro patch cause the diziness? He is to wear the patch for 12 hours and take it off at bedtime. He has had 3 angioplasty's with a total of 7 stents in the last 7 months and he is also diabetic with good control.
Avatar m tn I have had low RBC since 2012, and occasionally low WBC, what i mean occasionally, my ranges for abc can just get into normal range by 1 but always trends low. My HCT is never higher than 37 and HGB never higher than 12. My RBC count never higher than 4 and WBC never higher than 4.1. Has anyone encounter this before? I see a Hematologist next Wednesday. My symptoms are fatigue, weakness, bruising, hair falling out, very light headed, dizzy spells, blurred vision and headaches.
Avatar f tn My 6yo daughter has ESR of 84, CRP of 4.73. WBC 11.79, RBC 3.48, HGB 9.7 HCT 29.9, Platelet 343. She had fever for 32 days prior to starting an antibiotic, but they do not know what they are treating with antibiotic. Her temperature has not returned to her baseline, but it is below 100.4. She does have a couple of petechiae, but they are single dots and have been there for months. The doctor at the children’s hospital is much less concerned than her general pediatrician.
Avatar f tn T3 3rd Generation 7.00 M Reference range > OR + 20 years: 0.40 - 4.50 Mine it seems is way out of whack. Can someone explain more about these results. I am also going to post my regular blood test: HEMATOLOGY CBC 8.8 4.0 - 10.0 RBC 4.89 5.71 HGB 14.6 11.5 - 17.0 HCT 41.0 36.0 - 50.0 MCV 83.0 81.0 - 90.
Avatar f tn A month after tx ended my WBC was only 2.7, and RBC 3.88, the hemoglobin though was up from 10.1 to 12.5, which was the best I'd seen it in over a year. Still there is nothing like asking the doc. All the best.
478554 tn?1208034407 You are correct, Benicar is an expensive drug, I am on 40 mg per day with 12.5 of HCT (Benicar HCT). Since there is no generic, my insurance also tries to block it's use, but they have to give it to you if your doctor provides the additional documentation, but it won't help the price. TGL's are easy to control, usually cutting back on empty carbs like those found in breads, pastas, sugars and processed foods will have a huge impact.
1090984 tn?1463769850 I am on 10mg lisinopril and 12.5 of a Diuretic. My fingers have been swelling up so bad the last 3 months to the point I had to have my rings cut off. My doctor doesn't seem concerned, just gave me another Diuretic 12.5 to take it when I swell up again. Will that lower my BP a lot or make me feel weird? I never heard of anyone taking that much unless they have CHF. I am a little concered why my fingers are so puffy all the time.
