1426140 tn?1282838818 Hi! Did the neurologist feel an EEG was not necessary in your case? The twitching might be a muscle spasm. I was diagnosed years ago with 60 percent migraine 40 percent muscular headaches. The paper would say "intractible migraines". Intractible I found meant stubborn, hard to manage... an apt description. Sometimes I feel very tired before a migraine comes on. If you get a warning like that, they say eating something and some exercise might help stave it off.
1557045 tn?1294555036 5 hours of walking a day (to lose some weight). I have been exercising for the last 12 years straight. I had a CT Angiogram done for any Aortic disection or Aortic aneurysm, all came back clear, my aorta and all related vessels were within normal range. My cardiologist put me on Atacand as my blood pressure tended to be around 130/70, he advised me while my blood pressure wasnt excessively high, that taking Atacand would lower it a little and make my heart beat with greater efficiency.
Avatar f tn I checked with pharmacist and he said both Metoprolol and Atacand have shortness of breath side effects and spoke again with my dr and he said I should continue for a while.... because I have been using them for 3 month now... any suggestions?
Avatar n tn He takes Atacand, Norvasc and Bystalic for blood pressure, Zolof, Restasis for his eyes and an Excelon Patch for his memory. He is very stubborn and refuses to go to a geriatric doctor and his own doctors don't seem to know nor do they seem concerned about what's causing it.

851310 tn?1238980845 A migraine attack without the classical symptoms of aura, headache and nausea is classified as atypical migraine. A silent migraine, ocular migraine etc are all examples of atypical migraine. Generally this occurs in response to weather changes, spasm of blood vessels of the brain, insufficient sleep, motion sickness and exposure to bright lights. Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar n tn Beta Blockers are one class of migraine medication. I currently take a Beta Blocker for my migraines as well, called Nadolol, which is different than Inderal. A different Beta Blocker may provide the same relief that the Inderal used to provide you. The other two classes of daily preventative medications are antidepressants and anticonvulsants. It would be worth trying the class of medication that you have yet to try.
Avatar f tn My question is, are my current symptoms really migraine aura? They last for only a few seconds, while migraine auras always last for at least 15 minutes.
Avatar f tn If it lasts for more than 4 hours it could be chronic tension headache, chronic migraine or altered migraine or hemicranias continua. The CDH could also be secondary to trauma, raised intracranial hypertension, high blood pressure, cervical disorders like pinched nerves, temporal arteritis etc. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
465731 tn?1209649545 I have it too and I suffered really bad migraines as a kid. During my teenage, they just disappeared. I do have a slightly heavy head ever since the static has come (a month) but I don't know what caused which. I probably had some weird abnormality in my brain that was triggered after I used some eye drops and they caused an allergic reaction. My eyesight has also gotten slightly weak after this. In your case, I would say it's either optic neuritis i.e.
