Avatar n tn What are you trying to accomplish? This is a big category -- you can do a ton of things at home, especially if you buy some equipment. If you're wealthy you can build your own gym at home. You can buy a stationary bike or elliptical machine for the home. You can do yoga, pilates, calisthenics, push ups, crunches of an incredible variety. So given you can do so much at home, the question would be, what is it you're trying to accomplish.

Avatar n tn I had a roommate who used one of these in bad weather, and Gym is right, it's much easier to maintain and use than exercise equipment. I like the home exercise equipment, but as i said, it always turns out to need a lot of maintenance even when new.
Avatar n tn Tai Chi is another recommended exercise. You can look at the arthritis foundation web site to find programs in your area designed for arthritis patients.
Avatar f tn I would suggest that Covid makes everything a little more difficult. It seems to throw a psychological dragginess over doing things. So if your exercise routine isn't particularly inspiring, as Pax says, it would not only be hard to stick with in normal times, but to me it seems unsurprising that it would be harder to stick with it now. I agree that doing something that's a workout in itself but you like, is a good way to exercise.
Avatar f tn I have both pieces of equipment at home (I don't have any balance leg issues though) and find the exercise bike is far easier on the legs. But just to add, I lost my first 12 kg without any exercise due to cutting out all refined sugar in my diet. I mainly exercise to get rid of my anxiety.

Avatar f tn Somebody in between can work out at a moderate pace. Everybody should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week to make any gains at all, and it really takes at least four to see fast results. Once the heart is in shape and the body muscles are used to a light program you can step it up to something more moderate.
172023 tn?1334672284 I frequently look for reasons to avoid intentionally exercising. I have no idea why, because I feel good while exercising, and always feel better and more committed to a healthy lifestyle afterwards. But I'm constantly making excuses for not going to the gym. I know there are many things I can do at home that aren't labeled "exercise", and I do them, but I also enjoy working out at the gym. So why do I avoid it whenever I can?
973741 tn?1342342773 We have had an exercise bike, hopefully placed right in the TV room so we would use it. Did we? No. We now own a very nice rowing machine. Someone has used it two or three times since the beginning of the year. It seems like the value of Peloton would be only in if it is motivational. If someone is prompted by the high price to become a fanatic for exercise, more power to he and to the program.

958098 tn?1246809218 You should not go to Gym at your age. Teenage is the best time for sports, if possible you can join swimming. If not you try doing skipping, jogging in the neighbourhood, floor exercises, yoga, basketball etc. Calculate your BMI and also according to your age prepare a neat diet chart and stick to that. Do not consume fried food, desserts, choclates, icecreams, fast foods, etc. Exercise combined with Diet will do wonders on you. Take care!
Avatar f tn does walking at home count as exercise? I ask because I don’t want bad weather to ruin my routine.
Avatar f tn Okay so I can't go to the gym. I get really bad anxiety, like I'll go to walk through the door and start crying. I've always been this way. I walk an hour a day but I'm trying to get in shape and loose 10lbs for vacation in August.

572651 tn?1530999357 Obviously it is important to stay as physically active as possible with this crazy disease. I'm wondering what type of exercise routine any of you may have found that is "do-able." Currently I am doing Tai Chi, which is great for my balance and Chi (life force energy) but offers little aerobic benefit. I am also doing water aerobics two times a week, along with swimming laps.
Avatar n tn I'm kinda out in the boonies, no town large enough nearby to support having a gym. What I would love are some exercises to do at home....I don't really have equipment.
