Avatar f tn Is Arthrotec an aspirin based medication? I was of the understanding that it is.....please let me know.....also looking for the actual ingrediants of Zanaflex... thank you!
Avatar f tn tried enbrel, mtx, simponi, mobic, ibuprof. and more. Thinking of cataflam, arthrotec. If something has helped your ra pain pls reply. Narcotics are out I drive for a living. Thank you.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you may have Fibromyalgia or even perhaps a mix between that and Chronic Fatigue. Many doctors think the two are the same condition, but each person has either pain or fatigue as their main symptom. I am not familiar with Arthrotec, so I can't comment on that medication. What kind of specialist are you going to see? The best type for what you are going through is a Rheumatologist. I would get in to see one if you can. Good luck. -Dusty.
780647 tn?1304020942 I also see that a physician prescribed Arthrotec for you. Arthrotec is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in people at high risk for developing stomach or intestinal ulcers. Both conditions can be extremely painful which explains the symptoms you are experiencing. Have you began the medication yet? It may take some time before you see the benefits. Some times NSAID's need to "build up" in your system before they are truly effective.
513154 tn?1340225289 t even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn Hi All - I'm still experiencing moderate to severe joint pain, 3 months post treatment. From what I've read here, a lot of others have had this same side effect. I was wondering, is anyone taking any type of pain medication for their joint pain? I've been told to take ibuprofin, but that barely takes the edge off... just curious. Thanks so much, W.C.
1305522 tn?1273170802 I never obtained any measurable releif with them but some ppl do. I am hesitate to recommend a medication. I feel that medication selection is between you and your physician. So please talk to him/her. I am confident that you will be able to come up with a plan for pain management. I took Tramadol also and the took Ibuprofen to ease the headaches but it did not sufficiently control my pain. You might want to discuss this with your PMP to see if you can take the two together.
Avatar n tn i have an undisplaced tibia fracture and the doctor prescribe arthrotec. i want to know could it slow down the healing process? is it necessary to use arthrotec?
Avatar f tn I cannot sleep longer than for 2 hours. I was given Tramadol and Arthrotec for the pain. I now take Arthrotec and paracetamol after suffering a vomiting fit. I am tired of waiting to receive an appointment to see the hospital neurosurgeon to whom I was referred. I was told to get an ambulance back to hospital immediately if I became incontinent or numb in that area. What does '...
393986 tn?1303825975 s group is crazy active, (like it is here) I did start a drug called Arthrotec and it ended up me being in the hospital with a GI bleed, go figure, finally find a combination that seemed to be working good... Grrr... I've been off treatment completely for about a month now and I am back in a flare... I'm going to have to start doing the injections, and I am a big chicken-s**t!!! But anyway, gotta go for now!!! I Miss You All!!!
Avatar f tn I took asprin (NSAIDs) for migrains for a long time when I was younger... then I started swelling to get swelling in the face, neck and eye area. My parents though it was just seasonal allergies to grass and pollen (it was summer time when it started) because the reaction to the NSAIDs started mild, and we didn't like the swelling to taking the medication. Finally the reaction started to get pretty sever where I'd have trouble breathing because my throat would swell.
Avatar m tn ll take more injections with more caution. Interesting though that the anti-inflammatory arthrotec and 25 mg nortriptyline seemed to do the job before the injections!
Avatar f tn I'm with Cindee on this one, firstly what type of Dr. dx you? People can have more than one type of arthritis at the same time, if you haven't already you need to see a Rheumatologist and get all new labs done. I take Enbrel for my disease ( AS), my last rheumy gave me a RX for Lyrica which I did not even bother filling, not interested in gaining weight thank you! If you've been on Mobic for a long time it is entirely possible your body is no longer responding to it.
Avatar f tn I was perscribed recently arthrotec 75 a antinflamitory. This does relief some of my stiffness, unfortnatly not all the pain. The doctors in my town will not percribe pain medications. I don't know what I can do. I can't seem to get proper help. Anyone whom wants to help email me at ***@**** .
Avatar m tn i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Have you asked your Dr. abt. Arthrotec ? It is supposed to help out alot for people who can't take regular nsaids. The Imodium has something in it that is suposed to help with the receptors in the stomach. It will help with the diareah too. If you have muscle rub then go for that, I use Voltaren gel alot for my arthritis. It does seem to help. Doesn't smell bad either. Epsom salts in the hot/warm bath water, soak awhile. Heating pads are wonderful too.
Avatar f tn I was on Arthrotec and Mefenamic (at different times) and both really did a number on my stomach. Now I'm on iv morphine. From what I can remember also, when I took Codeine a long time ago, I would also get a lot of stomach pain or chest pain and get really hot in the face. Weird it don't happen with morphine. I guess my post wasn't much help. Sorry. But just check about the aspirin.
Avatar m tn I have taken ibuprofen which does not help. the doctor gave me arthrotec and i have taken it for three days. it didnt help tonight. i am taking a pain killer but i hate taking them. Please is there any relief in site? Peter This discussion is related to Weird Calf Cramps + hip and knee pain.
1232362 tn?1333135406 ve tried prescription strength naproxen (600 mg) and arthrotec(yuck-stomach pain!!) neither of which help at all. Also lidoderm patches, bed buddy, ice, nothing helps. (not all of that at one time.
Avatar m tn My story is that in Decemeber 2010 I took Arthrotec (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) for tennis elbow. I began to get hives within the first 8 hours of taking it. Long story short it has been dominating my life ever since, making me allergic to 70 per-cent of the food I used to eat, as well as to Ibuprophen and ASA. I eventually came to the conclusion that it was Candida and went on that diet and eventually took a naturopathic cleanse which made the hives ten times worse.
531667 tn?1215612330 I have had severe muscle spasms from the below the bra line up to the base of my neck which are not relieved by any medication or injections. Avatar m tn I'm on very high dose of morphine tablets plus dihydrocodeine, zydol, baclofen, arthrotec, paracetamol & oramorph solutiion for my back pain. I have taken this for 5 years & now doctors are saying I need to cut down. They said to stop taking 1 x 60mg morphine tablet which i've done 5 days sgo but itls hell. My wife has found a detox place to get me off everything in 5 days. Would this be a good idea as i'm still in a lot of pain with my back. Hope to hear any suggestions.
Avatar f tn Currently my prescribed med i take are spironolactone 100 mg/day, bupropion 400 mg/day, domperidone 40 mg/day, rabeprazole ec 20 mg/day, arthrotec 100 mg/day, Trazodone 200 mg/day, ducosate sod 200 mg/day, and citalopram 60 mg/day. exlax is extra strength and i take two/day and the diurex is 200 mg and I take 1/day. Just a little history on me for such a short question I want to ask, but I want you to have all the info.
Avatar m tn i also take 2 tramadol twice a day, 2 dihydrocodeine four times a day, 2 paracetamol twice a day, 1 arthrotec twice a day, 1 baclofen four times a day, these are all for severe back pain and i have been taking this amount for about 5 years.i had surgery ( spinal fusion, 2 years ago ), but no better. i also have osteoporosis now and take a calcium tablet ( chewable ) twice a day.
Avatar m tn i already take LOTS and i mean LOTS of very strong medication including morphine, oramorph, tramadol, baclofen, dihydrocodeine, arthrotec etc.... .although i was starting to taper down when this started ( my own choice as i have the chance of getting into a detox in-patient 5/7 day detox course ), i have unfortunately had to increase my morphine and oramorph to try and combat the pain but i have now realised that even this isn't working. i am at a loss as to what to do now.
Avatar n tn About a month ago, I went to a clinic and was prescribed Arthrotec - those pills made me get really physically sick plus gave me a horrible nightmare (it was listed as a side effect). After two days I stopped them and went back to Tylenol. Yes, Sherry, I've been taking them daily for over 6 weeks now. In large amounts, but it's only because the clinics here refuse to prescribe stronger, more effective barbituates - unless you have a regular doctor.
