I am in the ARMY and in mid February I passed out while doing PT. Everyone who saw it said my legs didn't cave they locked and I ended up falling straight backwards. I hit my head and ended up with a skull fracture, and bruising and bleeding on the brain. Before I passed out my chest felt like it was on fire and then I got light headed and the next thing I knew I was sitting up from the floor. Now everytime I get worked up I feel like I am going to pass out.
Concussion may appear like intoxication but any good doctor would be able to know the difference by just doing a blood test! You can definitely be drunk with a concussion ... again a decent physician is going to ferret out which is which! Take care ....
I had a metal iron shelf fall on my head at work 4 months ago, got a concussion and ended up with post traumatic concussion syndrome. He needs to go to the doctor!!!!! He needs to have a CT or MRI to check for headbleeding then he needs to see a neurologist and let them run test!!!!! It's so important. They told me if I hit my head again I'll have permanent damage.

After getting hit on the head, you can certainly have a concussion. There are multiple grading scales for concussion. The American Academy of Neurology scale is graded on a scale of 1 to 3, where grade 3 has any loss of consciousness. Grade 2 is with any symptoms lasting more than 15 minutes. If there is any loss of consciousness or alteration in mentation or neurological deficit, labeling the injury as traumatic brain injury would also be appropriate.

Brain injury can cause seizure even in presence of normal EEG and these respond to anticonvulsant therapy. The other possibility is that your son has non epileptic seizures. It would be worthwhile to check your son's blood sugar and serum sodium level at the time of seizure attack. Generally low sodium or blood sugar precipitates it. Another possibility is brain ischemia or low oxygen. Another component of non epileptic seizures is psychological. Post traumatic stress is a possibility.

After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Last Sunday I was running around the lake and slipped on ice - landed on the back of my head. I was taken to the hospital and they kept me for 30 hours. They did a ct scan and said no skull fracture, but I had the equivalent of a basebal on the back of my head and they said that I had the same amount of swelling on the inside. So a concussion and something about a hemotoma (sp?) Anyway, I can't really hear out of my left ear and I can't smell/taste anything.
The first day when i had Injury went to urgent care. they did concussion test( eye moving, ear, eye moving and dental) . in ER also they did same thing.
