1139187 tn?1355706647 It could be the Levo is dissolving too fast for you. Discuss this and the Armour with the Mayo Clinic. I understand your hesitancy in going, but Bruce if you lived here in Australia I think you would be chomping at the bit to get some true 'expert' help. I have heard nothing but praise and rave reviews from any one who has been there. (Wanna swap places? LOL!) Send me a postcard! Good luck!
1139187 tn?1355706647 5 levo but I felt HORRIBLE. The mayo clinic DOES test all levels. I dont know if you saw or not but I did 19 vials of blood. TSH 3.42 (.30-5.00) t4 1.0 t3 168 (80-190) also this is weird % lymph 44.0 (17.8 to 41.5) abs lymph 3.00 (0.9 to 2.9) I am very worried about the lymph stuff. Has anyone had this result? I am having a bone marrow check on wednesday.
1857376 tn?1328882864 10) Sadly, he still feels that I have enough neurological symptoms that had not been addressed properly and continue despite all that has been done for me, so he referred me to the Mayo Clinic. Specifically, he thinks I have MS, so I will start in neurology. Now, you are caught up! BTW no Hashimoto's-never had a positive antibody test result. Thought at one time to have Hashimoto's encephalitis, fortunately that was a no.
Avatar m tn Truthfully, I've heard one of the best MS Clinics in the US is the Mellen Center at Cleveland Clinic. You might try checking out http://www.mscare.org They list all the clinics available, etc. My neuro said the clinic at Cincinatti isn't that great but thinks Cleveland Clinic is really good. I've never heard of the Mayo Clinic being highly rated for MS, but more for heart desease.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Dr lupo, I am planning on going to the mayo clinic. How far are you from there? I am possibly going monday. No one in Dallas has helped me. Do you offer car service.
Avatar f tn I had a thyroidectomy last January b/c of papillary carcinoma found on my thyroid and in multiple lymphnodes in the neck region. I did the radioactive iodine treatment and now I am on synthroid. I have never have had problems with weight. I have always been very active (played bball in college and track). Professional pole vaulter from 1997-2002. Now I can barely stay awake all day. Low energy, feelings of fatigue, anxiety, depression, mental fog, body aches and weight loss.
Avatar f tn Hi All - I am thyroidless, on 2 grains Armour Thyroid for the past 2 years. Current labs: TSH .06 (.3-5) FT4 .9 (.8-1.77) FT3 3.5 (2.0-3.5) These labs were done around 10 a.m., having taken the full 2 grains at 8 a.m. the previous day. The first year on Armour I felt good, this past year not so much, with occassional symptoms such as mild brief heart palps, mild brief internal shaking, high pulse (90-100), numbness in legs when sitting and in hands upon waking.
627388 tn?1222198212 Has anyone from the MS forum ever seek treatment for their MS at the Mayo Clinic? If so, how was your as your experience with physicians from the clinic? I am considering driving up to Mayo at some point if my neurologist in town can't definatively diagnosis me.
Avatar f tn I have just made an appointment for a full work up at the Mayo Clinic, does anyone know the tests involved and how much they charge? Thank you!
582396 tn?1259863489 I am over the moon excited that DH got a 5-10 day appointment at Mayo Clinic - Dec. 10. Anyone have any experiences on what to expect etc?
Avatar m tn Some here on the board are not real pleased with the Mayo clinic. It seems they have their own set of standards to give out a dx of MS. I personally know nothing about them and wish you the best....hoping for that answer.
1264955 tn?1381782221 Has anybody here been to the neurology clinic at the Mayo or in their inpatient pain treatment program?
1139187 tn?1355706647 I agree that what he puts out there in the book basically suggests a person rethink their eating habits. After reading through the suggestions I knew I would probably never be able to follow his protocol. I do believe the thryoid meds are necessary for me, even though he believes that Hashi/Graves can be treated through dietary measures w/o hormones. I have read many places that a gluten-free diet helps people with "auto-immune" thyroiditis.
Avatar m tn A month ago i started taking Armour thyroid 90 mcg because 88 mcg of Synthroid would give me a very low free T3 and good free T4. My free T3 last week was 3.3 pg/mL with a range of 2-3-4.2 My free T4 was 1.0 ng/dL with a range of 0.8-1.8. Thank you!
1139187 tn?1355706647 I have made a decision to go to the mayo clinic in flordia tomorrow morning. As much as I have tried to follow the regimins put forth by everyone on here, something still isnt working. My symptoms suggest that I am undermedicated, yet for 7 weeks i have been on a much higher dose of levo and feel the worst ive ever been. I am currently unemployed and this trip is going to cost me about $1000.
499534 tn?1328704178 I am looking into Sanoviv hospital instead of Mayo clinic. I know people personally who have gone there and gotten fixed. One of my close friends has thyroid issues and hep C and went there. She has more energy than a teen. First thing they did was put her on Westhroid and spent 3 days running diagnostic tests. They give you a panel of doctors who all work together in your diagnostics and treatment. I am saving up to go there....
Avatar f tn She thru up her hands and said the only thing she could do is put me on Armour and she did not prescibe that. She started me on 180 of Armour and I felt 90% better in 2 days. For me it was my thyroid. I did have the others checked. Don't give up on it!!
727481 tn?1231203771 Ranges: TSH - .40 to 4.70 Free T3 - 2.8-5.3 Free T4 - 0.8 - 1.8 My regular doctor is the one who wouldn't reduce the Levoxyl to 75mcg when I asked and she also wouldn't prescribe Armour although the synthetics make me ill. So I went to a Women's Clinic and they are the ones that prescribed the Armour; I did tell them that I thought the dosage was too high but I was told that it wasn't. Makes me wonder how much you should or shouldn't trust a doctor.
Avatar m tn I have diagnosed Hashi's. I'm a male 44 years old. Have had this condition about 4 years. Have taking Synthroid or the generic brand since. I'm on 112mcg dosage. Today got my lab results. TSH = 2.93 (.4-4.5) FT3 = 2.5 (2.3-4.2) FT4 = .89 (0.8-1.8) I've been to Mayo several times. My head is in a fog. My ears ring and I'm a bit dizzy. They tell me it has nothing to do with my thyroid. Seems back around Thanksgiving I started feeling this way.
Avatar f tn Patients with symptoms such as yours (feeling worse with higher doses of Synthroid) often have a "REVERSE T3 SYNDROME" where the Synthroid gets converted into "Reverse T3" that is biologically inactive (it has no effect in your body. In addithion the higher dosesof Synthroid suppresses your own thyroid's ability to make ACTIVE T3 by lowering your TSH.
Avatar m tn I've bought it from inhousepharmacy.vu with success. They've been reliable for me. Mayo clinic recommended them for some gastro medicine that you can't buy in the US and I get this too.
Avatar f tn t want to have to take them daily as the migraines are so horrible I am in bed all day taking meds for them. What can I do to fix my problem? I have taken Armour thyroid, levo, cytomel, synthroid and the list goes on. I don't think there is a thyroid med I havent tried thus far. If anyone has any suggestions please help me.
486038 tn?1300063367 I've not been to the Jacksonville Mayo or the MS clinic in Houston, I'm sorry about that. I have heard a lot of good things about the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Dr. Elliot Frohman who works there. I'm sure if you google his name you can find out much more than I can tell you about, here.
Avatar n tn Thanks...I didn't see the thyroglobulin antibodies on the test results. The doctor (my first visit to him) felt my thyroids and ordered a sonogram, and I do have goiter. Large nodule on my left side. This is why he ordered the blood work. I asked if I should see a specialist, and he said to just come back in 6 months for another sonogram. That's it...
Avatar n tn I am 43 and thank god for the Mayo clinic went to see them because I had a ultra sound in a small town and they did nothing about it the doctors at Mayo told me I needed a biopsy right away the ultra sound said calcification with increased blood flow through out my nodule was also solid and small and my neck hurt on the right side.
Avatar f tn is positive, I have spoken to my doctor and it has been decided that we will try to get into Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for their new Alcohol ablation treatment for resisitant, recurrent thyroid cancers. Was wondering if anyone has does this treatment?
Avatar f tn I would appreciate any advise someone can give me. I been feeling very ill for the last two plus years. I have asthma copd and this past winter i had pneumonia which was not diagnosis for 2 months. I am also on Armour for a thyroid condition 30 mg a day, 2 steroid inhalers breo & proventil and crestor 5mg. I am exhausted all the time, muscle pain, back pain, rashes, weight gain and many other issues.
