458072 tn?1291415186 Hey.. do you or have youbeen diagnosed with a Thyroid issue? Thyroid issues can give you a racing heart or thumps..PVC's. I got them when I was on too much meds. Lowered and now on Armour and palps are gone.
458072 tn?1291415186 I am wondering if too low a dose of armour thyroid can cause heart palps, or is it just if you have too much armour? Just thinking. Probably too much... Anyways, thanks for being here....
Avatar f tn I have been taking 120 of Armour for 4 years and about three years ago developed heart palpitations. They come about once every week/2 weeks and last 12-24 hours. I just had an echocardiogram and my heart looks fine. I have gone through all my meds to locate any that might cause palps. I don't eat sugar, drink or smoke and use just a little caffeine. Could these be caused by thyroid or thyroid meds? Because of the supply problem, I just switched to 150 mcg. of levoxyl and 50 mcg. of cytomel.
Avatar f tn I have been on Armour thyroid for 40 years with no problems and I guess from what I have read, I should consider myself very fortunate. In December I started with the heart palpitations and feeling bad. This has continued more than not until present time. I was decreased from 135 mg to 120 mg to 90 mg and lowered my dosage to 75 mg (I informed my doctor and he said that was fine if I was feeling better with that dose).
Avatar f tn In members experience, are the symptoms of too much thyroid heart palpitations and lightheadedness or dizziness? I was thinking that the palpitations were from too much medication and lighheadedness from not enough. What I read on the board tends to both symptoms being from too much. I have both symptoms. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Did anyone experience bad heart palpitations while on Armour thyroid? I had been on Armour last 3 years. I do get occational palpitations, but its been really bad lately.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have posted on this board several times recently and received wonderful responses. I have been on Armour thyroid for hypothyroidism for about 40 years. I have had no problems during that time other than an occasional adjustment to dosage without symptoms and based on blood work. In December I started having heart palpitations and since that time my medicine has been adjusted frm 135 mg to 120 mg to 90 mg and now two weeks ago 75 mg.
Avatar f tn ) I started having palpitations, so I stopped the adipex, the palpitations have only gotten worse. I am wearing a holter moniter today and I had my thyroid levels tested again today and they were T4 0.51 TSH 0.33 T3 2.73 The only one that is off is my T4. When I try to get info on this it keeps throwing me towards Pituitary problems. What is wrong with me? I cant loose weight, my heart is doing flip flops, I stay worn out but very quickly agitated and Im not real sure what to do. HELP!!!
822804 tn?1298226302 She concluded that is why my heart palpitations were back. I am so happy with the Armour thyroid results. I hope this information helps.
Avatar f tn About 6 weeks ago I started having heart palpitations and went to the doctor. I was taking Armour 120 mg + 15 mg. The doctor cut my thyroid back to just the 120 mg. and I was to go back in 6 weeks. At the 4 week mark, the heart palpitations were so bad, I went back. Blood work showed that even with the 15 mg cut, my thyroid levels were still too high. They cut the medication to 90 mg about 5 days ago.
Avatar f tn A friend of mine who is also struggling with hashimotos asked me a couple weeks ago if I had noticed a link between heart palpitations and my menstrual. I told her I don't really remember and plus I'm not really tracking them, all I knew is that they were very rare now. My menstrual was due that week so I told her I'd keep an eye out for them. Sure enough 3 days prior to my menstrual I started getting them not bad but they were obvious.
Avatar f tn Lupo, I wrote to you last month about problems I was having with Armour thyroid after taking it for 40 years - heart palpitations and feeling generally lousy most of the time. You advised me that the T3 in Armour was heart stimulating and sometimes as we age, the heart can't handle it. You also said if it continued, I may have to be switched to straight T4, Synthroid. That is exactly what happened this week.
Avatar f tn I have tried multiple meds such as antidepressants and Gabapentin... always have had multiple side effects. Things like heart palpitation's, anziety and vision troubles. I can take xanax and Soma with no problems. My question is "could it be the Armour Thyroid that I take that causes the trouble?" I also have a movement disorder labeled as tremors/non-epileptic seizures which also gets worse with antidepressants.
Avatar n tn 2 Years ago I switched from Levothyroxine 100 mcg to Armour Thyroid 180's. My first test came back HIGH that my TSH was .10, but the doctor kept me on that dose. The next test TSH was normal along with all the others except the T3 has come back high 2-3 different times. It's been two years of that but I felt fine the whole time. 12 Weeks ago they stopped making my 180's so I started taking a Generic 180 Armour.
1518908 tn?1290905419 I started the Armour (30 mg in the am and 15mg in the afternoon) the last week in June and for the past few months, my TSH, T4 and T3 have been in normal ranges. Last week I started getting heart palpitations in sedentary positions. Got my edo to test my levels which were again in normal range, so saw a cardio. I wore a holster for 7 days and yesterday she told me I had SVT and wants me on a new medication.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed hypo 6 years ago. Tried Synthroid & symptoms were still there. My doctor put me on Armour 3 yrs ago. I loved it all symptoms were gone except the weight & fatigue. I developed terrible heart palpitations while on Synthroid so when I switched & noticed that had stopped, I was excited! Well, last year I ended up in the ER with PAC's & reflux. I was told they were normal. Saw my doc & was diagnosed with ADD. I've been on adderol ever since.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been on Armour thyroid for about 40 years without problem, but in Dec 2007 I developed heart palpitations and have been dealing with adjusting my medicine since then - now almost the end of February. I am hypothyroid which I know is I am not producing enough thyroid hormone and the medicine supplements that.
Avatar f tn My prior labs requested by PRN were on 6/10/11 TSH 0.03, FreeT3 5.5 and FreeT4 1.31. Since cutting my Armour, I have palpitations, tired and my hands tremble. I have been on thyroid meds for 3 yrs now and still no one has me regulated. Does it ever get better?
Avatar m tn I have been on Armour for several years (90 mg most recent) and apx 2 months ago switched to Nature Throid 81.25 only because of cost. Having symptoms like heart palpitations, trouble sleeping, irritability, depression. Am I just better on Armour or could it be a dosage adjustment needed on the Nature Throid? I just had a blood draw but cant see doc for 2 weeks. Need a refill TODAY and leaning toward filling the Armour. Any advice appreciated!
Avatar f tn Cytomel is usually contraindicated when heart palpitations or other possible heart issues are present, since the addition of T3 med can raise the heart rate and/or increase palpitations. Please clarify which medication you were on when the blood tests listed above were taken.
Avatar n tn 9 but not much help there until put on Armour thyroid (from pig?) I am feeling more and more tired w/ more heart palpitations. Can this be a result of the medication?
4939681 tn?1361299299 re are some doctors willing to prescribe it and she could even find a couple of them for me, but her statement scared me into refusing her offer. I get horrible heart palpitations, tachycardia, anxiety like symptoms during my Hashimoto swings and the thought of making them worse just scared me away from it. Especially, with my hyperthyroiditis history. Has anyone, have any of these symptoms with Hashimoto's and hyperthyroiditis swings found Armour still beneficial or made symptoms worse?
Avatar n tn has determined in order for me to get to the reqired dosage, he will give me the medication to off-set the reaction from the medication. My main concern is the heart palpitations. Is there anybody else that has had troble w/ all the medications?
Avatar f tn Hi, Hope someone can help. I have posted recently and my problems continue. After being on Armour thyroid for many years, my thyroid has started to act up. I won't go into all the details, but after two changes in medicine - first decreasing my 135 mg to 120 mg. and then down to 90 mg., I still don't feel good. The last change was 3 weeks ago and as you all know we must wait for 6 weeks for blood work.
Avatar n tn Hard to have any suggestions without more info from you. What dosage of Armour Thyroid daily? What are these severe symptoms? Please post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report.
Avatar f tn Having been reduced from 135 mg to 120 mg to 90 mg and lowering my dose to 75 mg myself about 5 weeks ago, I am still feeling some heart palpitations and some days I feel somewhat normal - but never really what I know is my normal, if you know what I mean? I am usually waking up to my heart feeling like it is beating fast - some days it isn't beating that fast, but today it was in the 80's all day and I am getting discouraged about it all.
Avatar n tn In the meantime I experienced severe insomnia and heart palpitations while on Armour so I went off the meds. I have kept the 5 pound weight gain and feel squishy and bloated all over ( a symptom I did not have prior to taking Armour) My doctor suggested taking half of the 1/4 dose and as soon as I did the insomnia came back. So I've stopped again. I think there is something else going but not sure what. I'm very frustrated. I feel like the Armour ruined my metabolism in some way??
