My experience has been that I had to lose most of the fat through aerobic exercise all over first, then I could tone and tighten with target training in certain areas.
Avatar f tn I know I have muscle definition in my stomach, I can feel it, (quite literally), but I have to burn off a layer of fat to be able to see them. also, I drink about a gallon or more of water a day, and try to eat very little sugar, besides in fruits. how long should it take to burn that layer of fat at this rate? are there any good workouts and or things to incorporate that will help with fat loss and abdomen muscles?

Avatar n tn I do notice that trying to stretch my left arm across my body feels like it squishes the pacemaker a bit, but if i move my arm down a few inches it feels fine. When I do any exercise that really contracts the muscle that my pacemaker lies under, I pay attention to how it feels and stop or switch positions if it feels like it is putting too much pressure on the pacemaker.

The first thing you have to do is stop drinking sodas and other sugary drinks. That would probably help you lose the most. Make water your drink of choice and make sure you drink plenty throughout the day.

It is recommend increasing children's physical activities (play, dance, sports) to lose weight, and not lower calorie intake due to the need of calories for growth. You will be able to find how to do these on the web. If your shoulder is painful when lying down, try sleeping on your back with a soft pillow behind, supporting the arm and shoulder; or lying on the uninjured side with a soft pillow under the injured arm to support the shoulder.

Avatar m tn Eventually I started to lose feeling and strength in my arm, so I had anterior discectomy with fusion 3 weeks ago. I would strengthen you upper back and neck and continue exercises from PT. I believe I read that only 10% of people do not respond to conservative treatment when the disc is in the neck. I am in that 10%. I have more bulging discs and issues throughout my back, so this is a genetic issue with me. Hopefully you will not experience episodes in the future.

Any type of exercise is good for you....... you could try walking, yoga, biking, swimming, dance, tennis...... anything is good. You have to watch your diet, as well as exercise. According to your profile, you're only 15, so at that age, your body is not fully developed. You have to be very careful losing weight or you could have trouble later in life.

You need to trick you body to keep it from storing fat. I use the Mediterranean diet. Then add squats to your daily routine. Squats burn fat while toning muscle. 1. Just simply put your hands on the ground on all fours and put weight on your arm. When I was weak I used to lie on one of the large pilates balls to half support my weight, then I got rid of the ball and just spent as much time as I could putting weight on my arm.

I don't want to go back to soon, but I don't want to take advantage either. I know I should ask my doctor when I see him in 4 days, but I was wondering what anyone else did?
