Also the ulna was twisted when he put the plate on so my arm needed to be rebroken and then a thicker plate put on. Overall pretty horrible experience. Anyways I've been able to go on living life since then but found it's easy to aggravate the location very easily. If I accidentally bump my arm on something it stings very bad. It also hurts with strength / lifting exercises. After a long break I started exercising again with pull ups and push ups on Thursday.
Prior to surgery I spent a couple of months with severe right arm pain (lightning bolt pain and burning, felt like started between the bicep and bone, extending beyond my fingers). Post surgery, I've felt GREAT! The pain was completely gone for about 4 months.
I'm in physical therapy twice a week, and over the past 4 visits I'm starting to feel a burning sensation along the back of my right arm, covering most of the tricepts, down to my elbow.

ACDF C5-C7 with C6 corpectomy, placement of cage, plate and screws in June 2020. Also diagnosed with OPLL and part of the ligament was removed. Around August 2021 began experiencing neuro symptoms similar to pre-op of numbness, tingling, weakness of BUE, left worse than right, neck pain, severe headaches. MRI showed plate had "migrated" and was caught under C4. Upon flexion, the hardware was impinging on the spine.
Barb135 (a member in this community) recommends using a salad plate instead of a dinner plate with meals. Less food looks like a whole lot more on a smaller plate. ; ) Also try eating very slowly and drinking a large glass of water before meals.
I know it can be hard kkRoss...but you can do it! I know that very soon some of our other members will come along with some great suggestions that are not coming to my mind this morning. Whatever you do....Don't give up!
The Doc gave me a nice plate with nine screws. Now I am very numb in a large area under the incision and it is burning and throbbing. This seems to have gotten worse after week two. I expected some pain from this procedure but this seems to be nerve related. Has anyone had experience with anything like this? I can deal with it if I know it will get better in time but I'm starting to get concerned.

My MRI scans show "At C5-6 level, a right subarticular disc extrusion causes compression of the adjacent thecal sac and the right exiting C6 nerve root" My symptoms are weakness in right arm, both shoulders and pain in the neck.
(We have big suppers in my house) Is this bad, or ok? Also what are some good exercises to get rid of love handles and belly bottom pooch? Thanks for the help!
The most likely exercises to help repair and rehabilitate the shoulders are rotator cuff exercises usually with cable or band. You can also do later raise with a light band as well.
I broke my right wrist a year ago, and since then every 1to1 and half months I brake out with a rash on my arm about 5 inch wide, sometimes I'm very dizzy and my bones hurts all over.

There has not been any complications thus far. I woke up today with a lump right on the middle of the scar, on top of the plate. It is painful with certain motions and when I touch the bump. Could it be nerve complications or a loose screw? Thanks for any help.
I broke my left collarbone and have been in a sling for 3 weeks. The same day I crashed laying in my hospital bed I could not move my lower left arm past a 90 degree angle, it was just locked up. It is still locked up and I am getting worried. I am trying to excercise it a little bit each day to loosen it up. It feels as though the tendons on the inside of my elbow are going to tear or snap if I push it too hard. I havent gone to see a PT yet but I plan on it very soon.
I had surgery a year ago and every now and then I seem to have a lump form typically where the break was on top of the plate, this is mainly after reaching up over my head to do things like paint a wall or exercise etc. I done a Zumba class yesterday, I was careful not to over use my arm but that has clearly not worked and today I've woke up in agony I feel like I have re broke my collar bone it is painful to touch, looks swollen and hurts to move my arm. could this be a lose screw ?
Not doing any exercises. Not allowed to move my neck for 4 weeks . I go back to see Dr Bejjani March 29.
After therapy and months of healing he has finally regained movement of the fingers but has major pain and limited shoulder movement. My question is can the plate and screws be removed? Is it possible that the screws and or plate could be touching nerves that have healed around it causing the pain?

yesterday i got my cast off which i had for 3 weeks because of skating. i had a fractured growth plate which could not be seen on x-rays so we talked to my uncle who was an orthopedic and he said it was fractured no matter what. the fracture was just a crack. and so he told me to have it for 3 weeks and so i got it off and at first i was really weak with my foot so i gained strength and its back to normal but the only thing i noticed is i cant run or jump or take heavy impact.
t too bad I broke my same arm in the same spot. The plate bent but held the broken bones together so my wrist was fine. I returned to the same surgeon and had nearly the same procedure except he used a stronger plate and more screws. I didn't get a hard cast and was not recommended to therapy.
It has been a little more than a year since my second procedure and my arm doesn't feel quite right.
