Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn You are correct that this is not an acute appendicitis, but there is a possibility that this is a chronic appendicitis. This is almost surely not an ulcer of the rectum as you don't have any of the same symptoms.
Avatar f tn The signs and symptoms of mesenteric lymphadenitis are very similar to those caused by appendicitis, but there can be some subtle differences in that the child is usually not as unwell as one with appendicitis. The main signs and symptoms include : •Abdominal Pain. This is often located in the right lower abdomen or right iliac fossa. It is a colicky abdominal pain which just resolves momentarily without any intervention.
Avatar f tn My 14 year old daughter kept complaining about her stomach hurting her so I took her to the doctors yesterday after work and they said she fine it's the stomach flu now the stomach pain moving to lower right abdomen and I keep calling her doc and she said to bring her in 3 days after Christmas I really don't want my daughter hurting on Christmas if this pain continues. Her symptoms are fever, stomach ache, vomiting, dizziness, and pain shifting from stomach to lower right abdomen.
Avatar n tn hey buddy I have got similar symptoms, what was the diagnosis of your problem?
Avatar n tn I'm not an expert on all this. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. Maybe someone with answers will come along to help you. I have had kidney stones, though. That doesn't sound to me like what you are describing. Mine was constant pain until I passed them. I haven't had appendicitis. Don't know symptoms of that. I have had ovarian cysts but my paiin was not so intense as labor pains.
Avatar m tn takes about six to eight weeks to heal!
Avatar n tn Check out symptoms of hydronephrosis...My niece had similar symptoms and it turned out to be that..
Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.
Avatar m tn Parasitic gut infections like amoebiasis, E coli infection, round worm, giardiasis can also cause similar symptoms. Hence, you must get a stool test. Also, irritable bowel conditions like IBS, Crohn’s ulcerative colitis and celiac disease, which can cause similar symptoms can cause bleeding into the gut which is not visible to naked eye. So, an occult stool test should be done apart from stool routine and microscopic for ova and cysts of parasites.
18799278 tn?1484274288 I'm not a medical expert but it sounds similar to stories I've heard about appendicitis. Appendicitis can be very serious, especially if the appendix ruptures. It might be worth going and getting checked out by a doctor just in case.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar n tn I am at my wits end -- I have a re-occurring right side (only) pain (that starts dull for 1 or 2 days and then honestly feels like appendicitis at its worst...before subsiding) that I get 3/4 days into my period and ONLY when I have my period. If I take the pill continuously (no breaks) - I don't get the pain.
Avatar f tn then i started to feel dizzy, with my hearing dulled and my vision started to fail. it was similar to passing out. so i went back to bed, didn't pass out and laid there until the pain was not as bad. I have no clue as to what caused this, its not cramps. but yesterday i went to an assessment park with some very intense rides. I've gone on rides similar to this but never had any problems. i just want to know if there's any reason to be alarmed, because i can't see a doctor here.
Avatar m tn Also, I would ask for a blood test to rule out appendicitis, sometimes this can be a sign of beginning appendicitis, you certainly do not want it to get worse.
Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.
Avatar f tn Hello, with the symptoms your describing I would assume the majority of your problems are bowel related. I’ve had a similar experience myself - went to gyne who told me she thinks it’s my bowel, prescribed me some meds and sent me on my way. Since emptying my bowel I feel somewhat relieved but still a little tender. You’d be surprised how close the reproductive organs are to the digestive system and how often pain in such areas can be misinterpreted as one or the other.
