hi i recently had my gall bladder taken out and got immediate relief for about 1 month of symptoms but now i have pain in my upper left side radiating down to my left side and i have indegestion and some nausea again. it is almost like my gall bladder was never taken out. i had the light ran down my throat and into my stomach at the time of surgery with no ulcers or sign of any problems. what could this be now? what is the sign of appendicits?
Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down.
What are the possible causes of this pain, and could it be linked to my other symptoms?
p.s. i am fully aware that this is not a diagnosis, it is just to know wether or not i should get this checked by my GP.
p.p.s i am male, 20, 5ft 10", and weigh 10 1/2 stone and otherwise healthy.
Around almost 3 years ago now I suddenly had an onset of left side abdominal pain, just left of the bellybutton. It would usually start up at night and not let up for a couple days at the least. I was tested with an upper endoscopy and upper GI series, both were normal. The pain persisted so I got a CT scan as well as an MRI done and a colonoscopy. and loads of blood work. Again everything came back normal.
Im getting ready to head off to bed, laying on my left side as usual... and all of a sudden I have this SHARP pain on my right side. Right/diagonally above my hip. Im 12 weeks pregnant with twins. I have tried moving my body pillow and blankets to position myself more comfortably... but can still feel it. Pain at first was a 6/7 (small pain1-10being horrible ).. now positioned its at a 2 then a 6/7 again. Kinda like off and on...
Should I be worried?
pain in the right of my belly, which migrated in the LRQ after about 2 weeks, bloating, pain in the right side during bowel movements, right leg gets a little numb sometimes. Did a CT scan 1 month ago, it revealed an ovarian cyst of 3.5 cm on my right and a 5 cm one on my left. The pain on my right is persistent and the symptoms are really bad for such a small cyst. My gynecologist didn't give me many explanations, so I've searched for my simptoms online.
In 2004 I was diagnosed via CT with Appendicitis and Gallstones. The surgeon operated and found no gallstones and no appendicitis. He removed my appendix but left the Gallbladder. The Appendix was sent of to a lab and came back showing a very small carcinoid tumor. I followed up w/ a GI and OBGYN doc and no issue except for an umbilical hernia due to me taking a kick boxing class before being fully healed. That surgery had to be repeated 3 times as it wouldn't heal.
i am 33 weeks pregnant and i am experiencing a severe pain in my uper left side of my stomach and its very tender like if yhu rub your hand across it it will hurt an i cant lay on my lsft side at all an it hurts wen i raise up or try and change sides an it even hurts when i sneeze and cough and i hav a bit ov a cold so i hav ben doing alot of that.
If you took plan B on the last day of your period and that was 12/25 then I would say that you are having side effects of the plan B pill itself. Several other members have reported severe, painful cramps around the ovaries and lower abdomen, back cramps, and you will probably start a "period" again in a few days. That is usually a side effect also. An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis.
You can get IBS pain anywhere in the abdomen, and the left side where the descending colon is, is typically the most common area of pain. I have had the pain in the area you are talking about. Two things can be going on that are more likely, if the doctor is sure it's not the appendix. One thing is that it could be the gallbladder. This doesn't mean you need to have surgery, though. Not all gallbladder issues are related to gall stones.
I was having left side generic pain for like 6 months last year, which is why I had a CT scan and colonoscopy last year. The pain was much different then, a dull ache on my upper left side that would come and go but be present almost every day. It wasn’t painful to press on my stomach anywhere. And I think the colonoscopy prep gave my body a good cleanse and helped it heal.
This was much different. More acute in nature.
s my right side - nothing passes through there, right, or does it? It just ends in the appendicitis, the left side is the one that goes through.
I've also had bad posture this week, I sit down in feutal position a lot because it makes me comfortable so maybe that's why my intestines are being weird or maybe it has something to do with the "blockage".
On to the other symptoms, I have been having weird twitches all over my body, but most frequently right above my left ear, in my left side, in my legs, in my right neck, in my left eye and a couple of other places. I drink caffeine a bit (I am in law school and I need it) but it usually is only a cup of coffee and maybe a Vault a day. I don't drink too heavily, though when I do, these twitches seem to get worse.
I know this post is REALLY old, but it came up in a search. I am having the same problem you did, Natalie. I've had abdominal pain for a week now and thinking I had appendicitis, went into the emergency room earlier this week, only to have them say I was fine and send me home. The doctor did say I had a "fat" appendix. Anyway, the pain on the right subsided slightly and, starting yesterday, I had the same pain but worse on the left side.
Usually lower abdominal pain on ur rt side is ur appendix. Look up signs and symptoms of appendicitis online to make sure. Is it sharp pains?
I went to the doctor and he said it is probably related to the PCOS. He has me on Metformin along with my Victoza. I hope it goes away soon. However, just today I realized I have my second kidney stone.
Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating?

Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
I have this recurring pain on my left side from the narrowest part of my waist to my low abdomen. In December it was really bad and I went to the ER. They did an ultrasound and said the pain was caused by ovarian cysts. That part wasn't surprising because I've had them before, but it surprised me that the pain could radiate so far up my side. Has anyone else had this?

As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain.

t get off my bed because every time I moved to get up it hurt too much i tried the lay on your left side move your knee and it hurt so bad, it only hurt when I pressed on my tummy was better when I let go. I couldn't stand up properly was walking bent over and was dragging my feet apparently it was very bad but I hate hospitals and didn't want surgery and knew they would keep me in. I know very bad should of gone.
