Avatar n tn Dear GerryFromDerry, While I am a volunteer for JDRF, I am not a doctor and am not qualified to give you medical advise. I can give you my own personal experience. I would like to know when you were diagnosed with diabetes. From what you have said regarding your symptom's, you may want to see a GI doctor. There is a complication called gastroparesis. My son, who is 27, was diagnosed with this 3 years ago.
Avatar m tn He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT. But the local doctor said it is not necessary and i don't have any acute episode and there is no such Chronic appendicitis.
1661545 tn?1302685376 what instructions should i give to a 40 years old women, para 1+1, who is currently pregnant and presented with signs of appendicitis, she is known asthmatic known diabetic that she developed since her 1st conception, with family history of Diabetes and hypertension. Thank you in advane...
Avatar f tn Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV. My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure. It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.
Avatar n tn I suggest that you go quickly to your Emergency/accident department and ask them either to rule out appendicitis - or else confirm it and carry out the necessary operation.
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
Avatar f tn Hi, About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing exactly what you described now today would be the 4th day... everyone saying I should be at the ER but I am terrified of hospitals. My pain constant in my back on the sides like the flank area and that's a constant dull ache it radiates to my abdominal but there's a sharp pain that goes straight through to the back Right side of abdomen two inches from my naval ...
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
Avatar f tn 30 am with bad stomach pain (top middle), bloating, and gas. I went the the ER about 6 hours later and received indigestion meds. I felt much better outside of mild abdominal discomfort from gas still. Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar n tn An appendix that ruptures is a very serious and life threatening issue and can lead to death due to blood poisoning, also known as septicemia or sepsis.
Avatar n tn During the first episode, the pain was so bad he could not walk. They suspected appendicitis, but an ultrasound turned up nothing and surgeon determined it was not appendicitis. During each episode, the inflammation markers in his blood rise (ESR 20, CRP 67), but then fall to normal levels after the episode ends. An X-ray showed nothing.
Avatar m tn If you have had chronic appendicitis treated, or if you know of someone who has, please let me know. I am very desperate and in need of help, because I do not know how much longer I can take the pain and the constant sickness.
Avatar n tn d been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT. I was told to keep an eye out for things, and to go back asap if things got worse- which they likely would within a reasonably short amount of time.
727090 tn?1268839348 I gave the baby to my 12 year old daughter and told her I needed to go to the ER and drove myself there. I called my husband, who was at work, and told him what was going on. They started running tests on me, including blood tests, MRI, etc. I was feeling worse and worse while I was there. I felt weak, shaky, like I was going to throw up at any time and cold. I asked for a blanket and laid shivering and miserable under the blanket.
Avatar f tn As soon as she left the bedside, I told my ex I still thought it was appendicitis. The surgeon got there and heard the story, saw the white count, and examined him. He said it was gangrenous appendicitis and started an IV. Then after 6 hours or something he took out his appendix. So yeah, it can be confusing sometimes. The thing they most often confuse it with is diverticulitis. That can be even worse than appendicitis though.
Avatar f tn Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. In your case since the lymph nodes are also swollen, there is a chance that you have either a local infection, vaginitis, cervicitis etc or there is a chance of STD (is that possible?
552053 tn?1273331741 My ex husband had the same thing that would come and go for a couple of years and then it became a constant pain that started to intensify. He finally gave up and went to the ER and was diagnosed with appendicitis - his appendix actually ended up bursting as they were removing it. Before that happened, I had no idea you could have what is considered "chronic" appendicitis, but his doctors said yes, it's actually more common than you would think.
Avatar f tn Hi and thanks for using the forum. What you have described are classic symptoms of appendicitis. I recommend that you see your doctor as soon as possible to rule this out or go right to the ER for evaluation. If appendicitis is ruled out, this could be anything from some constipation to a stomach virus, or even somthing like an ectopic pregnancy. This really needs to be evaluated. Good luck.
Avatar f tn This happened to my mom about two years ago. Get her to the hospital ASAP again. My mom had severe lower stomach pains and had trouble keeping food and liquids down. The pain went around her lower abdomen and around the sides, basically her whole lower abdomen was hurting so bad she was hunched over in pain. Bowel movements didn't help and neither did medicine. She's very lucky she decided to go to the ER because she had SEVERE APPENDICITIS.
Avatar f tn Lately ive been having a lot of abdominal pain and my appendix hurts sometimes and it feels like its getting bigger. I also have toilet problems, its been a couple of days now that i cant do number2 in the toilet and im starting to get scared now and i haattee the doctors! What do i eat? What do i do??
Avatar m tn But I still have slight pain where my appendix is, so I went to the doc again 2 days later and saw a different doctor who said that its not appendicitis and that its probably associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (ive had it since i was born practically). I dont have a fever, im not vomitting, i can move and walk fast and do my daily activities with no problem...but Im just weirded out by this slight pain where my appendix is.
Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
