anxiety zap

It came on like a really fast zap, zap, zap, that lasted about five minutes than slowly faded out into this fuzzy feeling, then disappeared. It was only in my head down to my fingertips. I asked the neuro about it and it wasn't a seizure. Now it's happening without the startling, and just coming on whenever, but in different places than before. I am in a new flare up, so things have moved and changed since the last time.

ve been confronted already a few times with a sudden brain zap (or that is what I think people call them). It is a very scary feeling, that mostly after the brain zap, is followed by a period of lightheadedness and dizziness. I drop my head quick in a chin to chest type action, and I get a zap down to my fingertips and toes. This was especially pronounced in late Dec. 2006, when my symptoms were at their worst.

Hey has anyone ever woke up in the middle of the night with a brain zap. It feels like your brain shocks you, then you can't go back to sleep. It's now my third day back on zoloft which I was on three years ago for my anxiety and it worked wonders for me but I don't know if it's the medz or just my anxiety that's causing this symptom. Any input ?

He was able to zap my afib and svt. The issue of worrying about my heart non stop has brought on anxiety that will not go away. When I excercise I actually bring on PVC's because I keep waiting to feel an irrgular beat. I guess I have to make the first step and call someone regarding the anxiety, my regular dr gave my xanax but I dont want to take it.

It could be anxiety if you've been under a lot of stress lately. Anxiety can zap your energy. It's a really good thing that all of your tests came back normal. Is there any way you can get your stress level down?

Hi I'm currently taking cipralex (antidepressants) for anxiety and panic attacks. Currently I have been feeling a strange electric shock type feeling going through my body. This is usually accompained by pulsing of muscles. I don't think this could be caused by anxiety as lately I have been less anxious. I am worried that have some rare disease I would be really grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance :).

I've been doing some research on these sorts of electrical brain/body "zaps" because I've been having them for the last week. I've been taking lexapro and recently started going off of it because I didn't like the side effects. I found on a website that one of the withdrawal symptoms are electrical "zaps". It could be if you've had a change in any meds that this is the cause. Ask your doctor about this symptom.

doctors keep blaming it on anxiety when i know its not. so i did decide to at least try it ad see if it works. iv been on buspar for a week now and i feel everytime i take it i get more out of it and my body does this weird zap though my upper body and head? its not a symptoms of buspar, buspar does not have many symptoms. what could this mean?

The doctor took me off of zoloft + adderall due to pregnancy & put me on the wellbutrin... Zoloft was working great for me. Despite gaining 40+lbs over a one year span, i felt great! My depression & anxiety were completely resolved! But the dr was affraid of possible birth defects & said this was a better choice. I feel drained & the eye problem + vertigo type feelings...

Depression and anxiety can cause many strange symptoms. The best thing to do is see your Dr for a complete exam. Tell him/her all of your symptoms.

Ok, so I know that I have anxiety issues and currently my worry is over an unprotected, oral sex encounter. (me receiving from a male) I know it is low/ to NO risk, but my mind gets going. I have obsessed over the possibility of HIV infection before and swore I would never put myself in a situation I would question ever again, but my OCD took over and I peeked on the internet to see my risk factor...there really is a lot of confusing information out there. I think Im happier but now Im starting to get more aggitated. I've been sitting here watching tv and I keep feeling a weird zap in my cervix area. It feels like im being shocked. Ya know like the tingle and pain from it.

For years I have had weird zapping type sensations (sort of like a bug zapper goes off in the summer) that go off in my head. Most of the time they are just annoying but occasionally it will be a strong zap and sometimes there's noise like a metal pole landing on concrete. I don't have medical insurance so I haven't had any MRIs, scans or neurologic workups done but my doctor and chiropractor both dismissed me as crazy. Any one else experiencing something like this?

Many times at night when I am in deep sleep, I am awakened by an electrical zap (only way I can explain it). It zaps that white blob and also that side of the jaw. That zap quickly wakes me up and there is pain momentarily. Please can you tell me what this is?

I frequently get a zap from my elbow, or slightly higher, to my fingers, and from my knees to my toes. Only once, that I recall, from my neck. Well, one day of little zaps. I just had what I call a Brain Zap, where you get really dizzy, disoriented, like you are going to pass out, kind of shock like feeling, only lasts a few seconds. Anyone else get these? What do you do to stop from panicking afterward?

I've been having a tough time lately with my anxiety, my doctor keeps lowering my Valium even though I don't feel well enough to do so. I'm down to 3mg a day, which I'm struggling with. When I get a panic attack I usually feel it in my chest, but over the last 2 weeks I've been getting horrible feeling in my brain, as if my panic attack is happening in my head, very scary.

yes, i get them and alot of other people do that have anxiety and depression. is it just a very short zappy feeling? did you have these before taking the meds? i'm on meds too but still get them. take care.
