Avatar m tn The only problem is, I don't have anxiety/panic attacks. And if I do, my anxiety is mild. Anxiety does make sense because I worry a lot, think I have some underlying disease that is causing this brain fog/derealization, and other symptoms I've found to be a match by during those vague online tests (desperate, can you tell?) but nothing clear cut. I have never had a panic attack, and the derealization is constant rather than coming and going with bouts of stress.
Avatar n tn Since an attack can often be felt coming on, it can sometimes be halted by rapid cooling, such as applying cold water or an ice pack to the skin. Drug treatment is typically in the form of antihistamines such as loratadine (Claritin), hydroxyzine, cetirizine. Psychological treatments such as stress management can sometimes lessen severity and occurrence. REF:http://en.wikipedia.
220090 tn?1379170787 Each time I took interferon, it left me with Attention Deficit Disorder that was long lasting. Each treatment seemed to be additive. After my last treatment that ended in 2008, I ended up with full blown ADD that made me impulsive and seriously detracted me to the point that I could not read and process anything that was very detailed. I spent much of my career managing large software projects, so I was very lucky this didn't happen until after I retired.
Avatar f tn These are fairly common responses to those kind of situations and usually improve over time, but sometimes brief treatment may be indicated so that the symptoms don't continue. I also wondered if the symptoms were getting better or not? The answers to these questions would help me respond to your post better.

They said it could be anything from hypoglycemia to ms. Today i went to the hospital cuz i felt faint and my blood sugar was 57. Normal blood sugar is supposed to be 100. So im starting to think its hypoglycemia. But i also think i have a nerve damage or something. I feel all kinds of electric shock feelings all over my body tingling prickling. cold hot sensations.
Avatar n tn I have never had any kind of depression or anxiety or panic attacks so I was nervous about going on an ssri. Its been absolute hell. I haven't stayed awake all day since I started it six weeks ago. My face is generally numb and my cardiac symptoms have gotten worse if anything. He suggested I be admitted for a load of norpace but after reading about the risks of anti-arrhythmia drugs, I was skeptical until I could talk more with him about the severity of my diagnosis.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar m tn Through-out the years, starting in 1997, I developed an increasing case of anxiety, which after awhile became accompanied by panic attacks. I tried to tell the doctor at the start, this all was proceeded by abdominal discomfort, driving to work, had to run as fast as possible to the rest room before hitting the sales floor. After doing this for months, one night in counting down the tills of the cashiers, I felt a twinge of anxiety, but shook it off. The feeling only lasted mere seconds.
Avatar m tn I'm so happy a retrovirus was found for an otherwise unexplainable disease, but in the mean time, there is no treatment. Anyway, since being ill, the anxiety doesn't go away. The anxiety is not about anything. It never has been. Triggers are things that are fun, exciting, and stimulating. Stimulus in general. Loud Noise. Light (fluorescent). Riding in a car. Exertion (even walking short distances. Standing (I have orthostatic intolerance). Cold. Heat.
548980 tn?1214826012 Recently saw my family physician again and she was quick to prescribe medication for anxiety treatment but I am now considering the possibility that my anxiety is strongly correlated to my experience of allergy symptoms (stuffed nose, lump in throat sensation, post nasal drip). Have yet to see an allergy specialist but it is the next thing on my to-do list. Just thought I'd share my experience in case you can see any possible solutions to your struggles through mine. Hope you get well soon.
Avatar m tn Can Anxiety Be triggerd by something i am not aware of? 2: Can Anxiety be constant alot of the time? 3: Can Anxiety cause you to think about wierd things Example: I think about the world being like a fast rollercoster and and also random things going fast, i know its not true but it feels it almost.
Avatar m tn Social anxiety is when you're anxious around groups or other people, not anxiety when driving and such. That's just plain old anxiety. Not that it matters that much. As for natural treatment, buy a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. That's first. Second, St. John's Wort is used for depression, not anxiety, and you didn't say if you also suffer from depression.
Avatar n tn he said himself it was anxiety. See anxiety generalizes. it started with being nervous about the gas. Excersise didnt help much cuz i ran long distance in track and it was still happening. i reaaly appreciate ur help tho.
Avatar m tn This isn't really a question, it's more or less a walkthrough of what I am going through with anxiety problems and alcoholism in hopes that it might help someone out there. Had I read online about how common anxiety attacks after a night of drinking are, maybe I could have started my road to recovery sooner, and maybe some of you can.
Avatar m tn Continue to look for a physical cause but while doing that you should perhaps seek further treatment by seeing a psychiatrist of psychologist. Anxiety can subside and you return to 'normal', but once it's reared it's ugly head the chance of another episode down the road is much higher. Therefore seeking help now will help you now and make you better prepared for the future. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn That is why it happens primarily inside the body (eg. anal, vaginal sex) Once it is exposed to air or anything else for that matter, the receptors which would attach and infect other cells are damaged and unable to infect. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I would like to know how important it is to all of you to know your exact VL during treatment at 4 and 8 weeks. If you have a PCR that measures down to <50IU/ml, are you content with a Pass/Fail until that week 12? This is the scenario I'm in for and I'm not happy about it, I want to know my exact VL count at 4 weeks and 8 weeks if I fail, as in I'm above <50IU/ml. Is this reasonable or am I getting uptight for nothing?
173930 tn?1196341998 Survey seems consistent with what I've seen posted here. Most telling to me is that 40% reported feeling worse after treating than before: 29% reported feeling about the same; and 31% reported feeling better after treatment. What that means is that around 2 out of 3 people felt either worse or no different after treating. This should be a reality check for those who treat primarily because of the so-called extra-hepatatic symptons, i.e. to feel better.
Avatar m tn Hi, Oxazepam (marketed under brand name Sobril) is a drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative. It possesses relatively weak anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties. it is usually prescribed to individuals who have trouble staying asleep, rather than falling asleep. It is commonly prescribed for anxiety disorders with associated tension, irritability, and agitation.
Avatar n tn It is important to note that a patient with an anxiety disorder will often exhibit symptoms of Clinical Depression and vice-versa. Mainstream treatment for anxiety consists of the prescription of anxiolytic agents and/or antidepressants and/or referral to a Psychologist/cognitive-behavioral therapist. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn The dysfunction of the areas in the brain can induce behavioural changes (such as depression, anxiety, apathy) that reflect the dysfunction of the whole system. This is where a support system becomes critical. He needs a circle of family and friends to re-teach him acceptable codes of conduct.
Avatar m tn I think you need to see both an ophthalmologist for reassurance and a psychiatrist for treatment of your anxiety.
Avatar f tn //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asthma If you do think you might have anxiety, asthma or hyperventilation - talk to your doctor about why you think you have it and see what they can do in the process of treatment. Take a moment for yourself and enjoy it.
Avatar m tn im stressed out, sometimes depressed and have some anxiety while at work and sometimes in social situations. i have taken every type of anti-anxiety medication you can think of and never want to take these meds again - i felt terrible while taking them and they never did anything to help in fact, i was worse while taking them. tramadol on the other hand calms me down.
Avatar f tn //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posttraumatic_stress_disorder Does this mean that my PTSD symptoms could be causing the following symptoms I am experiencing now that I am leaving adolescence? They are: over-reactivity, sensitivity, easily offended, aggressive, experiencing extremes of high and low moods, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, risky behavior, generalized anxiety disorder, etc.
1445901 tn?1284498374 I have struggled with feelings of depression and anxiety and migraines for several years, and am just now able to pursue treatment. However, my depression is getting worse and worse ; I break down crying at least twice a day. I also feel anxious and uneasy quite often, and am uncomfortable around others, particularly peers.
