Avatar n tn General and Social Anxiety are one of the MAIN reasons for drug and alcohol abuse, so helping you with anxiety is a MAJOR part of any inpatient treatment. I had horrible panic attacks before treatment, but now with their help, and being sober, my anxiety, and panic are almost completely gone. I NEVER thought I'd be able to function in ANY social setting, BUT.... I was proven wrong! As for Insurance/ medicare; Yes, most treatment facilities WILL accept Insurance/medicare as payment.
1819252 tn?1317095602 Hi SnipC, I am starting treatment this Friday and I totally understand the pre-treatment anxiety. As I start I will be more than happy to keep you posted on my experience. I am sure many others that are further along can add some much needed support as well. This is a wonderful site and I am also glad I have an oppurtunity to clear this nasty disease.
Avatar f tn Did this start as you got closer to your wedding or were you suffering from anxiety previously and now the wedding date is just adding pressure to you making it worse? Do you have any idea of the root cause?
1694901 tn?1317009564 If you were told you had diabetes, you wouldn't think twice about taking medication for that.....anxiety is no different. Anxiety is robbing you of so much and therapy and/or medication is how we fight back. It's great that we have these choices because for many of us....medication gave us our lives back. You can feel so much better!
Avatar f tn I am on my 6th day from vicoden withdrawal and know that I need support so that the mental cravings don't allow me to go slip again.l also need support for the anxiety and depression. I like the spiritual aspect of the 12 steps but I don't feel that a one type program fits all. I never had a drug abuse problem in the past and I am 40. I feel I just got into a bad situation and yes I am addicted now but I will not admit to a saying of I will alway be powerless over drugs.
Avatar f tn When I hit teenage years I was very depressed, but slowly i've noticed it became more anxiety. I have met someone in which I see a lot of good with, but I also have the things that I find to bother me. I am so protective, and cannot deal with certain people. My boyfriend has a lot of friends and I am not one to hangout with a lot of people, I am an infp type.
Avatar n tn I have found B vitamins to be very effective in the treatment of anxiety and panic, also, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, these can be a contributing factor as well. How is your blood sugar? If that is too low or high, that can also cause some anxiety and panic feelings. I think to start, I would try a good, food grade multi vitamin with extra emphasis on the B vitamins, a good multi mineral and see if avoiding certain foods help.
1349676 tn?1277916049 I have been involved in 12 Step Programs and have a Sponsor. Yet I don't feel that 12 Step Programs are the entire answer either, at least not for me. I have had many challenges in my Life, and have overcome many of them. I didn't become an Addict until my 40's. I don't want to be an Addict anymore, so I'm learning better Coping Skills, and I'm working on the Hard Stuff, the Stuff that hurts deep down. What I know, is that I'm working towards my own Freedom.
Avatar m tn I have heard a couple to be fair.. I am personally going to try the suboxone treatment due to my major abuse and long term abuse of oxycodone 300-400mg per day! and anything else pain pill related! I have went cold turkey so many times I would have to guess a number to count. Im sure it is close to 30-40 times though.. I have had this addiction for many years, and have decided I personally cant fix this overnight, and have came to terms to actually accept long term help..
Avatar f tn How early could she consider tapering or detox? What is a reasonable time. Is treatment meant to be short term ( months to one year?) Is harder to come off the longer you are taking methadone? I am managing to stay calm with her...but i am so disraught....don't know where to turn or who to trust for the BEST advice!
Avatar m tn If you are e-positive then the end of treatment is becoming e-negative. If you are e-negative then the end of treatment is less clear and needs further discussion.
Avatar f tn Are there any over the counter meds that I can take daily at home for anxiety attacks. I have at least two attacks every day, but I have no insurance to go to a doctor for a prescription med.
Avatar f tn Meds do not HAVE to be part of anxiety/mood disorder treatment. Since you have the addiction history, it's very understandable that you would want to approach this without meds, and that's fine. There ARE meds that can be used in anxiety treatment that aren't "habit forming" that would be appropriate for someone with an addiction history, but there are a LOT of things you could try first to get this to a more manageable place.
Avatar m tn Therapy is an important component of anxiety treatment, even IF a person has decided to take meds, or herbal supplements. Therapy helps to teach us how to break the cycle of anxious thinking, which is what keeps us on the anxiety rollercoaster. I also agree that you need to exercise caution when trying a "natural" or "herbal" remedy.
Avatar n tn Treatment levels go from outpatient services to intensive outpatient programs to partial hospitalization programs to transitional living to residential to inpatient. Anorexia is a biopsychosocial spiritual disorder. To most successful treat an anorexic, the treatment needs to treat the whole person. The process can be lengthy. To learn more about anorexia and different treatment levels of care, visit the bella vita website. Best, Dr.
1722607 tn?1335751458 I wanted to know the names of different medications that might be prescribed during treatment. Names of rescue drugs, anti nausea drugs, or any others that may be given during treatment. I want to look them up thru my insurance to see how much they will cost me if needed. Just trying to budget how much treatment could end up costing.
Avatar m tn Hospitals in your area that have opiate addiction programs. Under this act the hospital will provide free treatment for a certain percentage of patients in return for federal subsidies.
Avatar f tn I took ADs the first 2 months of my treatment and quit them bc they were making me blah. I finished treatment 2 months ago and I am having problems now. I find myself listless and sad a lot of the time. Part of it is that I am not working and I start a new job on Monday so that should help. I'm wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience.
Avatar m tn I need to find a good treatment program, I am scared to death to go. I have been in treatment before, and I have had some bad experiences. They are not all created equal. I now live in Ohio. I am willing to travel. I don't mean to sound like a rehab snob, but I want a safe sound program. Pleasem let me know, I am very desperate and depressed. Thank you.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have just found out that I have type 3 and that my treatment will require 24 weeks of Sovaldi and Ribavirin. I do have Connecticare insurance through my mothers work which is a 10k deductible, but her work typically pays the insurance for most of what I have needed, but I have not told her about this so I will probably try to call and talk to her insurance person at her work to see more about that.
524020 tn?1223164605 (although I don't know that it ever was normal) I am looking into day treatment programs, and intensive psycho therapy. It's just debilitating at this point. I can't work, I can't do much most days but eat, and that hasn't helped me at all!!!! It's easy to feel sorry for yourself, and I am definatly good at that, so I try to think positivly. Having no support system has made this even more trying. I have 140 days sober. So needless to say I have lost all of my friends.
Avatar n tn I'm concerned about disclosure to my employer (the village I work for) in regards to treatment and the possible need to take time off if sides are bad. Also I don't know who would find out like coworkers as this disease is feared so much. It's a small place (150 employees) so if I started looking sickly the rumors would fly. Would they/could they fire me? do I need a lawyer?
Avatar n tn A combination of medications and cognitive -behavioral therapy seem to be effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders. SSRI (Serotonin Specific Reuptake Inhibitors) such as Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa are the drugs of choice. Other medications like benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants and MAOI's are proven to be effective. Since you are not employed or have insurance you may qualify for Community Mental Health programs.
Avatar n tn They still suffer from anxiety today and often are getting worse because they spent years trying to solve their anxiety without getting treatment for it. I think a healthy dose of skepticism should always be applied to any book, program or person who would tell that anxiety is just a state of confusion or a manifestation of wrong thinking. The gist of such statements is that "anxiety is all in your mind.
Avatar n tn It has only been 5 days on treatment for me, and I can most certainly say the anxiety and fear of treatment were a million times worse than the side effects so far. I am aware the sides can change and worsen over time,-stay the same , or even lessen but just for today...I am ok. No one seems to have the same sides or severity. I have read hundreds of threads, this site is a wealth of knowledge. I did not opt for anti-depressants to see how I do. 7 years clean last month.
16361457 tn?1449656421 If you are diagnosed with anxiety issues here are some treatment measures you can consider. Medications and counseling therapy are your obvious choices but you can also try herbal tea like chamomile, kava, and L-theanine. There are also nutritional supplements. Endoca hemp products and 5-HTP are proven supplements that are great in alleviating anxiey. There are also some self-help methods that I urge you to start doing now.
Avatar m tn Also as is known, people with addiction often leave treatment programs before completion. Neurofeedback programs have the possibility of further success in treatment. Combining Neurofeedback with other aspects of treatment greatly increases the chance of full recovery. Too often addiction is thought to be the result of a lack of self-discipline and self-control. But the reality is that addiction is a truly psychological condition, and one that is very, very difficult to change.
