1305767 tn?1361196276 the racing heart can be a big symptom of the anxiety. Keep taking your meds and they will help. Another thing you can to do is to stop and do deep breathing. Deep breathing helps to slow down your heart rate. It does help, try it.
Avatar f tn could be anxiety, i have the same symptoms and doctor thinks it could be anxiety, even though i've been feeling rotten for a month without feeling better :( everyday i feel worse!
Avatar n tn YES, anxiety can play a major role in heart symptoms. I've had anxiety problems for years and my heart goes way too fast, so I was put on tenormin which slows it down beautifully to a more comfortable rate. Skipped beats can also be a sign of anxiety. Check things out with your doctor, of course. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I'm having a had time sleeping. Every time I lay down, my heart takes off racing. It will get up into the 130's! I've had issues with being more lightheaded this time around. Actually almost passed out when they did an u/s (accor to Dr I was laying on my a vagus nerve) I'm going to get into my Dr Monday and see if he'll order a thyroid/anemic test for me as I've heard that can cause rise in heartate. Thoughts? It is very annoying as I can't sleep!
982214 tn?1471458381 I notice if I lay down too long and especially at night my heart starts racing. Almost like an anxiety attack but it is just my heart. Last night we went to bed early as we were all up early and really tired. Well I woke up at 11:45 soaked with sweat and my heart felt like I was jumping out of my chest. I know from past experience I have dreams based in what is happening around me or in me. So of course I was dreaming I was in a bank that was getting robbed.
Avatar m tn What kind of tests did the doctor do? Do you get any other symptoms beside the racing heart? Have you seen a cardiologist? Sounds like you could be experiencing SVT, or supraventricular tachycardia (just the first thing off the top of my head). Exertion can trigger SVT. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/supraventricular-tachycardia/pages/introduction.

Avatar n tn Hi, I don't know where to start. I have had a racing heart for a long time, but in the past year it has gotton worse first they told me i was having panic attacts, but none of the meds worked they only made me feel they were making me feel mentally wrong, I got a new doc.It started when I hurt my neck and upper ribs from over work. anyways My heart will race at about 110 and then I'll feel good for about two weeks then it starts again after this I feel very weak, my doc.
Avatar f tn 75 mg of tranxene (clorazapate) 3x a day for anxiety those didn't do anything to me didn't help me sleep didn't help my anxiety basically had no effect so they perscribed me 1mg ativan 3x a day the ativan does help a bit but I find I have to take more then 3 to make it work for me all day, but my real question is about my heart, is it just my anxiety causing my heart problems or does anyone else think I may have a problem my heart rate when waking up in the morning is usually around 78-90bpm as
Avatar n tn Should I be concerned about this? not overly concerned if you have no history of heart disease or symptoms of heart failure. You should see a doctor about the symptoms. 99 out of 100, this is related to panic anxiety. This can be cleared up with a monitor to capture the rhythm with observation about initiation and termination of the rhythm. If the heart rate slowly comes down, this is usually sinus tachycardia and rarely atrial tachycardia.
Avatar m tn 5mg I began to have cardiac symptoms, which consisted of mainly palpitations and a racing heart. I have had palpitations for years, and have seen a cardiologist which cleared me. We did an echo, numerous ECG, blood work, event monitor, holter monitor and nothing was shown. On the drug, I had very few cardiac symptoms (took for about 3 years), but one of the reasons why I got on the drug was to alleviate these symptoms which I had before and now afterward.
Avatar n tn I'm convinced that the racing heart after eating is related to anxiety. A normal increase in heart rate to help digestion is noticed. I also think the problem is more acute if you have too much time in between meals.
Avatar f tn I walked around my house for awhile trying to calm down. 2 hrs later my heart is still elevated and yes I do think partly due to anxiety. So, I call my psych (she answers!) and I tell her about it. She tells me that Prozac can be "activating" and I should take an Ativan if I have any left and I wil be fine. It worked. After taking it only 6 days I had to stop. The next morning I awoke with fast heartbeat.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, however I fail to present any other symptoms aside from the pounding, racing heart. I do not feel scared and do not feel anxious... EKG, echo, holter have all come up clean. I am constantly disturbed in the night by the sound of my own racing heart. I take ativan now and again, but that doesn't slow the palpitations. Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be?
Avatar f tn My husband stayed with me comforted me and within 10 minutes it was gone. But, this first episode of a racing heart felt like 120-180 bpm has left me terrified to go anywhere. Keep in mind I am very active, my husband and I work out daily I am on the treadmill 3 miles daily skipping once in a while I run 1 1/2 miles at 5.2 mph then walk the last 1 1/2 miles at 4.2-4.5. Again this is the first time this has happened. Is this hormonal or does it sound like I need a heart dr.?
328799 tn?1276569332 feeling of unreality like im in a constant dream and everything looks fake, sweating , tremors, fear of dying/doom, rare crying spells, nausea/gagging, trouble consitrating, racing heart, switching body temperatures.
Avatar n tn per day and I started taking Prozac at 10 mg. per day a week ago. I am experiencing racing thoughts, discomfort with my heart beating, clammy, smoky taste in my mouth after sleeping, horrible Anxiety buzz (Which begins with the racing thoughts), sore temple, tightness in head. My question: Am I having side effects from Prozac or withdrawal from Vicodin.
Avatar f tn Made it worst i think. But i get this fast and racing heart beat everyday and this tingling that starts from feet up to my head and it messes with my vision.I still have fear of going blind not sure why can't explain it but the weird vision really scares me on top of my breathing.Sometimes i feel like i'm not breathing i really hate that.Yes i saw an opthomologist already and a neurologist and had a ct scan done.I'm seeing a cardiologist right now.
Avatar f tn Kat4 - But doesn't Afib cause a very irregular heart rhythm - as opposed to the very fast but regular and steady heart beat of svt? Kim- No, the very fast heart rate associated with anxiety is not related to a heart attack. A heart attack is generally caused by coronary artery disease.
Avatar n tn I do use smokeless tobacco, but this doesn't seem to affect the symptoms either. My heart and cardiovascular sys check out fine. Could I be defficient in some vitamin? Does anyone have any insightful suggestion? This is truly disabling.
Avatar n tn In my opinion (keep in mind I'm not a doctor), I think it's much more likely the racing heart is caused by anxiety/panic attacks or something else. If you don't agree with what your doctor has told you, you could get a second opinion. As far as mono symptoms, they can last quite a while, especially if you're dealing with other factors (anxiety, sinuses, etc.).
Avatar f tn I took a xanax and about an our later I felt a little bit better, but every time I think about it my heart starts racing and I get jittery. Is this a form of my anxiety. Also I was in the hospital a month ago for chest pains, all the test came back normal, but I just worry too much. Thanks for listening.
