Avatar f tn My gyn as well as psychiatrist agree that hormone changes of perimenopause are so much worse with the already anxiety and depression. It's just too bad they are all hitting on me all at once it seems. Thanks for all your help.
Avatar f tn I'm 46 and I'm most probably in a perimenopause too. I have bad anxiety since few months, not thoughts, but feelings in the body with fast heart beat. I have soreness and burning in the chest and in the both breasts too. EKG is normal. I have very low progesteron, hypothyroidism and maybe prolactinoma ( diagnosi isn't clear). But I didn't have this symptoms before, even not in the state of not treated hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn Some women get relief by taking estrogen. But it can be tricky to find the right form and dose to prevent the headaches. There are so many options available (in a number of countries) but can take a bit of trial and error. Best of luck to you!
203342 tn?1328740807 they can also teach you different things that may help you when your anxiety is at a higher level. i agree that the meds they have to treat anxiety attacks are rather sedating. thats why i don't like taking the xanax. makes me feel like a different person.
Avatar f tn ) I still have the symptoms and now my anxiety has taken over my life. I'm trying to figure out if it's anxiety or peri menopause. If you figure out what it is before I do please let me know.
Avatar n tn Since then I have been in a world of anxiety. I'm a runner, but during times of anxiety it is tough for me to run. I recently noticed the last few times I ran, I felt the flutters and pauses during my cool down. Not so much while running, but during my cool down. Never before have I felt these during exercise only at rest. My first question is does this sound like anything serious or is it benign.

Avatar f tn I had a year and a half of stomach aches, severe acid reflux that had to sleep sitting up in bed for 3 months, severe bloating, diarrhea, constipation, anxiety, panic attacks, humming in my ears, smelling strange smells, sinus attacks, eyes wattering and itching, anal and vaginal area itching attacks, nauseau, throat itching, metal taste or bitter taste on tongue.
Avatar m tn I am certain there is a hormonal aspect to this, and I also feel that I may have some sort of balance, inner ear and possibly visual disturbance going on (I have choroidopathy in my left eye-its basically a spot that makes straight lines look distorted when I am looking thru that eye) I was put on anti anxiety meds for the driving but when I realized that I am in perimenopause I stopped taking anti anxiety meds.
Avatar n tn If so then i would say that your tiredness through the day would be partly due to the lack of sleep your getting at night and anxiety. I have anxiety/panic disorder and that alone makes me very tired most days. As far as the motion feeling, I have that also and was told by my Dr that was one of the many many feelings anxiety can cause. To me it always feels like i'm sea sick. Are you on medications for your anxiety ? It wouldn't hurt to mention the tiredness and motion sickness to your Dr.
1335749 tn?1277373021 Following childbirth -- The severe drop in certain hormones following childbirth can cause dramatic physical symptoms and a temporary feeling of depression or anxiety; in some women, it is prolonged. During this time the menstrual cycle becomes irregular as the hormone levels keep fluctuating, causing some women to experience PMS-like symptoms.
1348686 tn?1310657843 I forgot to add, have you been checked for low blood sugar, this will sometimes cause anxiety and panic, so will being near perimenopause, an over-reactive thyroid can also contribute. So, as I said, try to find a nutritionally orientated doctor and ask about these tests, they may prove very helpful.
1710279 tn?1314104529 I also just started acupuncture, i had immediate relief from my anxiety and heart palps after the first treatment, but didn't have the same relief after the second treatment. There is no way I could go through years of this as so many women do. I have no life, and having to rely on others just to even go grocery shopping has been demoralizing. Of the typical 34 symptoms you see all over the net, I have 30 of them. So glad to read others' stories and realize I am not going crazy after all.
Avatar f tn Partial relief should begin within 5 minutes, complete relief when the combined effect of the oral benedryl kicks in (20-30 minutes). Relief from the itching should last approx 3 to 6 hours. All the benedryl WILL make you sleepy. NOTE: sometimes the lanacaine alone works pretty well but for best results consistently I had to do ALL the steps EXACTLY as I described. My doc said it was a pretty ingenious regimen I came up with and had nothing bad to say about it.
Avatar n tn is this just the celexa getting into my system? is that was is causing me to have such bad anxiety? how long before i get some relief?
Avatar f tn Back in sept 06 I started having bad anxiety and now I fell depression and I am on antidepressants for the anxiety. I have female problems as well that have gone worse. Does perimenapause or menapause cause anxiety ? Is there blood test so they can determine if I am near menapause?
Avatar n tn It is amazing what the mind can create for the body. I was fired from my job six months ago and almost immediately began suffering from anxiety. I have had a list of symptoms, all very really and consistent throughout the day. Dizziness, eye pain, shakiness, derealization just to name a few. I also went to numerous specialists and had numerous tests including a brain MRI. ALL came back "normal". You are not a unique case, although I know you feel like that right now.
Avatar n tn This spring and last (at the same exact time, when oak pollen was strong) I got the constant burping and anxiety. For me, taking some Tussin product helped somewhat. Anxiety and allergies seem to go hand-in-hand for me and can produce some weird symptoms. Sometimes it helps just to know that's all it is. Hang in there!
Avatar n tn Is it possible at my age that this could be perimenopause? 5. Will my PVCs increase as I get older? This causes me anxiety. 6. Any danger to PVCs early in a run (when my HR is increasing)? Makes me want to stop, but I power through. 7. Methods to control the anxiety? It's making me so scared.
1912832 tn?1322191954 I have noticed all my life that I would get worse right before my period. I also have high anxiety right before it...Now I am in perimenopause (yes, still waiting the BIG ONE) and am taking bio identical HT. I think this may help immensely, as well, and I also do NOT have the anxiety problems I used to have. Maybe all my life was one big hormonal party in my body????? TRRN: That is hysterical!
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has been on birth control pills and have suffered from anxiety or depression issues? I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes.
Avatar n tn I also suffer from heart palpitations and anxiety.
Avatar n tn I am 48 and have been experiencing the dizziness, vertigo, anxiety and have had 2 panic attacks . I went to GYN and had my hormone levels tested and she says I am not in menopause yet. My question is can the hormones levels be different from one week to the next and when she tested me maybe they were normal just that day. I told her my symptoms and never once did she talk about perimenopause but after reading all these post I am pretty sure that is what it is. I thought I was going insane!
Avatar f tn I know it will take a while to tell any difference, but just knowing someone agrees that something is wrong is such a relief. I had a major anxiety attack waiting for the appointment-just glad its over. My Dr. said people are not cookie cutters and numbers aren't the definitive factor. Can someone tell me about any success with weight loss on synthoid? I hope I feel well enough soon to exercise.
Avatar f tn Jenny, You've been taking it longer than a month right? You should soon feel some relief from depression/anxiety. You sounded pretty aggitated on the anxiety forum. Are you feeling better at all? If not, then go back to the doctor. You shouldn't have to live like that. How old are you? Peri-menopause has skin sensations as a common symptom. I've never taken Prozac but have found paxil very good. It did give me sweating side affects (amongst others).
1410068 tn?1282732767 Some hyterectomized women whose ovaries were left intact also experience perimenopause.
Avatar f tn I have palpitations and night sweats that keep me up most often than not. I have terible anxiety, hot flushes, headaches and i have put on weight despite increased excercise and a healthier diet. Ive cut out caffiene and 90 % of red meat and i feal awful. Im 43 and have been like this for about 16 months and my drs say its stress. I had an apt with a gynae doc who sent me for blood tests but it was only for my thyroid which it seems is ok. They wrote on the test form ? Carcinoid syndrome.
Avatar n tn Yes, you have the classic symptoms of perimenopause!! I bet that you have also had a few episodes of outright panic attacks and perhaps some instances of racing heartrate and strong heart palpitations to go with the rest of these symptoms. Then, you go to the doctor, and the doctor runs tests, but nothing shows up as being "wrong" with you, so you are told it must be in your head...or that you just need to 'lose weight'?? Right??!! Been there, done that!!
Avatar n tn I am also wondering if the fact that I am now on Vytorin for my high cholesterol, and possibly in perimenopause, is that why I find myself so depressed? I do not work, so just idle time on my hands, and I have soooo many other life problems right now that it only adds to the depression, and makes me want to use more. How do I get out of this horrible agony. I want me back, I want my mind back. It just feels like I will never be able to get thru this.
Avatar n tn I had begun taking acidiphilous supplements and a colon cleansing product that has mostly things like garlic and thyme, but discontined them just to make sure they weren't causing it. Been off them for several days now and no relief. I have been all over this site and tried to find any info. The only thing I've found that resonates is maybe hormonal changes, such as pre-menopause.
