Common Questions and Answers about Anxiety relief perimenopause

anxiety

Avatar f tn m most probably in a perimenopause too. I have bad anxiety since few months, not thoughts, but feelings in the body with fast heart beat. I have soreness and burning in the chest and in the both breasts too. EKG is normal. I have very low progesteron, hypothyroidism and maybe prolactinoma ( diagnosi isn't clear). But I didn't have this symptoms before, even not in the state of not treated hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn I called my gyn and she said that instead of taking one week off using the progesterone cream, to just go off for 3 days. She even asked if I was seeing a therapist which I am and she believes I still need to be on the antidepressant as well. But she also has me taking an adrenal supplement. She said the bleeding I had with the first cycle of progesterone cream was a normal period. The anxiety and depression have been so much worse.
594293 tn?1222655980 s the majority of it. It had not even occurred to me that it could be perimenopause until a few weeks ago. I went for blood work yesterday so I won't hear results until next week. I have made some changes such as changing to decaf coffee (and only drinking a fraction of what I used to), trying to eat healthy, etc. I would like some suggestions to help with the lightheadedness and jitteryness/nervousness though as these can be hard to deal with as many of you already know!
Avatar f tn Anxiety can indeed be a "symptom" of perimenopause, and is, actually, very common. During this time, our hormones are beginning to get a bit out of whack, and often times, anxiety is the result. Your OB/GYN can tell you, with a simple blood test, if you are starting perimenopause. This would be an excellent time to discuss the symptoms you are feeing and ways to deal with them. There are options out there to lessen the side effects of both perimenopause and menopause.
Avatar n tn If so then i would say that your tiredness through the day would be partly due to the lack of sleep your getting at night and anxiety. I have anxiety/panic disorder and that alone makes me very tired most days. As far as the motion feeling, I have that also and was told by my Dr that was one of the many many feelings anxiety can cause. To me it always feels like i'm sea sick. Are you on medications for your anxiety ?
Avatar n tn I also suffer from heart palpitations and anxiety.
Avatar f tn No history of the disorder in my family. I have had, however, major clinical depression and generalized anxiety disorder in the past. Does anyone know the answer?
Avatar n tn m too young to be going through perimenopause even though everything seems to point to hormonal changes as these attacks appear to be cyclical.
Avatar f tn I have palpitations and night sweats that keep me up most often than not. I have terible anxiety, hot flushes, headaches and i have put on weight despite increased excercise and a healthier diet. Ive cut out caffiene and 90 % of red meat and i feal awful. Im 43 and have been like this for about 16 months and my drs say its stress. I had an apt with a gynae doc who sent me for blood tests but it was only for my thyroid which it seems is ok. They wrote on the test form ? Carcinoid syndrome.
Avatar f tn Have had symptoms of perimenopause for over a year with excessive unexplained weight gain, sleepless nights, night sweats, anxiety and depression, itchy dry skin etc. one gp I spoke to said that a hormone blood test was pointless as the Pcos would not show an accurate result but a different gp then insisted on it. The blood test came back as requiring no action so now I don’t know what to think. Could the blood test show normal with Pcos but still mean I have perimenopause?
Avatar n tn I am having several symptoms of perimenopause, from the short, intense painful periods, night sweats (for a week to 10 days prior to my period), radical mood swings, and bouts with anxiety, etc. The worst sypmptom lately is some vaginal irritation, but I can't find what is typical and what is something to be concerned about. What are the types of vaginal irritation that are typical with perimenopause? Lumps? Bumps? Blisters? Dry patches?
Avatar f tn During perimenopaus for a pretty healthy slightly overweight (28 BMI) woman who exercises daily is there any reason that during my cycles about a week prior to when I start my period that I have very strong or hard heartbeats and palpitations along with elevated anxiety? I have relatively no risk for heart disease, no family history and no high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or anything else that might raise my risk. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned.
Avatar f tn It sounds like your problem is anxiety, not depression. If it triggers on perimenopause, (or even if it does not), I suggest: talk therapy (why are you so anxious at upcoming menopause, etc.), exercise (works better than anti-anxiety meds), and a medication (if you need to go there) that is for anxiety alone.
Avatar n tn I am able to manage the anxiety and hardly ever get panic attacks or anxiety anymore. Check out www.panicportal.com Hope this helps.......take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn I am a 45 year old healthy women until September 09. I started having my period twice a month and heavy blood clots. I started to feel weak, nausea and hot flashes only in the evening hours. The morning was my worst time of the day. I will wake up nerves, moody and upset stomach. I felt I couldn't focus on my every day daily activities. I had no desire to do anything even afraid to step out of my apartment.
443862 tn?1237999439 Hi all, so supposedly I'm in menopause. But because I also have anxiety attacks I never know if the hot flashes and tingling are menopause or anxiety..well, if there is not associated panic with them, then they are menopause. Today I am sweating all day even behind my knees! off and on throughout the day inside in an air conditioned house!
Avatar n tn I SWEAR I HAVE HAD EVERY SYMPTOM LISTED FOR PERIMENOPAUSE...MIGRAINES, FEVERS, SEVERE BODY ACHES AND PAINS, VERY MOODY,ANXIETY, PANIC ATTACKS, YOU NAME IT, I GOT IT..MY DOCTOR SAYS NONE OF THESE SYMPTOMS ARE RELATED BECAUSE MY HORMONE LEVELS ARE FINE AND I STILL GET MY PERIOD EVERY MONTH...HAD OTHER TESTS DONE AND ALL CAME BACK NORMAL...I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND I FEEL NO ONE ELSE AROUND ME CAN RELATE...
