13042940 tn?1437399556 To the person who recommended medication -- not a good idea when you're breastfeeding. Don't want to feed the little ones these medications.
1324650 tn?1274757488 You do need to see a therapist at the least so you can continue to work. If you need medication, you won't be able to continue breastfeeding. At this point you have to focus on your well being. Pregnancy is all about nurturing your child: same for early months with a helpless infant. Time for mum to get help.
Avatar f tn anxiety that I been dealing with forever. I have not used since I found out I was pregnant but is it fine to use while breastfeeding? Will cps take my baby? Any information would be helpful .Thanks!
1399033 tn?1449591379 I talked to one of the other mums. She took anxiety medication while pregnant and breastfeeding. Now Her daughter has speech delay, she lacks the ability to feel. She totally can't feel pain, cold, hunger, sadness, heat....nothing. They've been to hospital many many many many times. The mother says her doctor kept giving her the medication, claiming it wouldn't harm the baby. Even while breastfeeding, she was told it was ok. But she noticed the baby was always drowsy and lacklustre.
Avatar f tn said it's ok to take while breastfeeding, but what I read on the internet it says do not take while breastfeeding. I have a call out to the lactaction nurse but she has not called me back yet. Has anyone heard of the pill Soma and should I take this while breastfeeding? I would love to hear opions on this.
541196 tn?1293556536 I would like to become pregnant soon and was wondering if anyone had experience with Lexapro while pregnant/breastfeeding. Do you know if it's approved or known safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding?
7552207 tn?1427024003 So I have sever depression and ADHD. I stopped all my medication during my pregnancy just because there is no 100% safe medicine to take while pregnant. And for the most part I can cope with my ADHD, but my depression is absolutely my question: After baby is here, will I be able to take my depression medicine and breast feed? I have my heart set on breast feeding and I feel selfish if I cant just because of my own reasons...
377493 tn?1356505749 Several weeks ago I was diagnosed with Post Partum Depression that manifested itself with severe anxiety. I sought treatment and am currently on a med called Cypatrix that is working extremely well for me. I am feeling like myself again and truly enjoying my life and motherhood. The problem lies in that my pediatrician feels that this particular drug has not been studied enough on nursing moms.
3060903 tn?1398568723 Don’t be afraid to discuss problems or concerns. And while you should never stop your anxiety medication without talking to your doctor first, ultimately the decision is up to you. If you’re unhappy with how the pills make you feel, ask your doctor to help you taper off. Continue therapy. Medication can control the symptoms of anxiety, but it doesn’t treat the underlying problem. Therefore, it’s crucial to pursue therapy or some other form of anxiety treatment.

Avatar f tn lol....but it's almost too Anyway hope that you find the medication thats right for you. the way I take 30mg a day.
Avatar f tn I hate taking it because I know it lowers my Son's heart rate by 25-30 bpm. With anxiety medication it usually is a when you absolutely need it type thing.
Avatar n tn Ceezo, I have been on Zoloft for the last 10 years. I stopped taking it when I started trying ttc due to the advice of my Dr. What I read from Zoloft's website is that they don't exactly advise taking it while pregnant, but that they also don't have any evidence that it causes harm to your baby. Plus, you are on a very low dosage. I was totally worried that I would freak out when I went off Zoloft. I am prone to anxiety attacks too.
5894884 tn?1386973171 I need some help. I'm currently 25w+1d and suffer severe depression and anxiety (both have been diagnosed and confirmed by doctors and psychologists). I came off medication about a year and a half-2 years ago. Since being pregnant my depression has got worse again due to my hormones being all over the place and i'm now debating going back onto medication (after talking to my doctor of course).
Avatar f tn Even though I totally get why you took more Ativan, that actually will make matters far worse and is actually considered abusing your medication. Your doctor may not be real happy about that, considering that it's a narcotic. While I understand you asking for ideas, there's just no way any of us can fairly give you specific recommendations without knowing your past medical history. Plus, we're not permitted here to give specific dosing recommendations.
Avatar n tn Well your best to contact your doctor about any medications while pregnant sometimes Depending on why your taking a certain medication Your doctor can advise you on the pros and cons of it all.
455051 tn?1255830118 You will need to find other ways to manage your anxiety while pregnant and/or breastfeeding. I am currently breastfeeding my 7 month old dd, so can't take meds. I do go to my psych once a week right now, and try to find other ways to manage the anxiety.
11356079 tn?1421361418 If you have taken them both you know yourself they are actually very different. While breastfeeding the info is the same but valium taken while breastfeeding made my baby sleep deeply and have episodes of apnea which is definitely not safe but xanax never seemed to bother her. I save all unused medicine in my medicine cabinet just incase I need it.
8924846 tn?1410576501 I was diagnosed when I was 8 with depression, anxiety, OCD and a panic disorder. My body builds up immunity to medication fast which *****. Anyways today has been bad. I've come close to hyperventalating multiple times and it's difficult to calm myself down. I woke up feeling like this. What are some ways you have found to work to calm yourself down?
659957 tn?1224857787 ) I, personally am on prescription pain medication and have seen a specialist for my high risk pregnancy and he told me everything should be fine. Many women have had healthy pregnancies and babies while taking prescribed medication. There is hope and ways to help the baby after birth and taper off later in pregnancy. I hope this helps anyone with this issue and if anyone would like to contact me via PM to talk, I am happy to help.
Avatar f tn I was on medication with my first pregnancy and also while i was breastfeeding. You are probably getting worse because one, you needs meds to control your OCD and anxiety, and Secondly you are probably going through the nesting faze of pregnancy where you clean and clean because you are getting readyfor the babies arrival . Toxoplasmosis is not just from cats, it's from animal feces. So if you have animals in your house you don't want to walk around barefoot...
Avatar f tn I desperatley want a baby but my fear of being pregnant with no medication scares me terribly. Has anyone taking medication while pregnant and is it ok? everytime i get off it i end up in the hospital. It is a huge fear and everyone i talk to say not to take meds but i can't get any relief with them let alone without them. Any advice? or personal experiences? I wonder if this is another reason i'm not able to concieve. Any thoughts on that?
Avatar m tn Unfortunately I suffer from extreme anxiety. I have always been an anxious being..but back about 7 months ago, I started experiencing the symptoms. My teeth tongue twitches...floaters in my eyes...throat feels like its closing up ect... Before I got pregnant I was on .5-1 mg of ativan 3 times a day as needed for anxiety. After I got pregnant my OBGYN here in North Dakota said absolutely no more.
331213 tn?1217168431 I heard Lexapro was safe while pregnant and breastfeeding. I would talk to your doctor about it! It really is worth enduring some side effects for a week and a half. Also if you really don't want to consider meds.. I have to agree with shadowserpent. If you have something cold around you it will help. I remember when I was going places that would make me nervous I would grab a soda out of the fridge and keep it in my purse...
Avatar f tn I feel like it's too late and too much of a risk to my baby to start medication but I'm also worried that my crying spells and sobbing is going to hurt my baby in some way. I feel so alone , my spouse works out of town all week and I live in a new town so I have no friends or family here . I haven't worked in about a month and this is when the depression kind of hit. Any suggestions about what I can do. !
