Avatar f tn I use three trackers - Mood, Anxiety and Sleep. I take Venlafaxine, which is included in the mood tracker, but the Sleep tracker only has "Anti-Anxiety medication" or "Anti-depressants", so I pick the latter. The Anxiety tracker has both "Anti-depressants" and "Effexor", so I end up having to tick Effexor as well.
Avatar f tn Can anybody list me all the names of different meds for ADHD i would like to look them up before going to a pdoc so not to be blind and just take what ever he offers. Tell me about your meds and the side effects.
Avatar m tn I will give the antidepressants a little longer and take it from there. Which anti anxiety medication do you take and how helpful has it been for you? The antidepressants don't seem to do much but the Valium gives me some relif. I've been taking the Valium once in the morning for about 10 weeks. Well I'm off to get my second run on Lexapro as I'm out. Iv'e also found that Clanazapan is sold under a different brand name here, so maybe that will be a better option for me.
Avatar n tn There is no "best medication" as everyone responds differently to different treatments. However, there are an increasing number of options as regards antipsychotics. I was allowed to start a community on new treatments in development and I have posted information on all available options and linked it up on my personal page. Only a psychiatrist can decide what medication is appropriate but it is good to keep updated.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed Hypothyroid 2 years ago but I have been fine not taking any medication and my doctor told me I must take the meds and now I am depressed because of it. I know that it is because of this medication that I am depressed because when I took more Mcg my body was not handling it well at all. Now I need to not take this drug to see if my depression will go away.
Avatar f tn Whenever I see lightning, or hear or even think I hear lightning I freak out and I am sick and tired of it. I was wondering what medication would be best for my anxiety. Since thunderstorms only last a couple hours I am looking for a short acting medication.
Avatar f tn Therapy would be good for you, it can determine if there is a root cause of your anxiety, how to cope and think differently. None of us want to take medication, but there comes a point where you have to determine which you want more, being able to travel and have a good time, or continue like you are. I think therapy would be very beneficial for you. Good luck and take care.
Avatar m tn I started taking Clomipramine for two weeks which was an absolute disaster as I experienced every side-effect in the book for that medication. I really don't want to go on a medication for the rest of my life and I need to find some way to move past the guilt of what I did. Anyone have any experience with something like this and have any thoughts?
Avatar n tn Hey, Im a 22 year old male, and I have the biggest ALS anxiety. I'm pretty active, and it kind of all started in late August when I was going through some stressful times. I would get muscle twitches, in my arms, and legs. Of course, if you look it up on the internet, ou think you have everything. I have this horrible sensation of dread that i have it. I feel I am too aware of my body.
5757880 tn?1395581622 However, she did give me a list of the medication children with PDD would normally take, so I can research it. The names are Risperdal, Latuda and Fanapt. When I briefly looked at these meds today, I noticed they are prescribed for bipolar disorder. So now I'm confused.... She never mentioned my son was bipolar. Also, I thought PDD was a part of the Autism Spectrum and usually children with Autism don't receive medication regarding their disorder???

Avatar f tn In the last two years I have experienced great anxiety at the silliest of times - waiting in a drive through and feeling trapped in. I spoke with two seperate doctors who both seem to think this is related to times my T levels are low and they have adjusted my medication. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Has anything helped. I agree with the doctors that I do not want to take an anxiety medication because it is so random. Thanks in advance to anyone that replies.
Avatar f tn It's like a diabetic who needs medication everyday to control their blood sugar, it's all the same. Most of us take an anxiety medication and antidepressant, and there's no shame in this. Just because it's mental does not mean we can control it. I think all of us would prefer to be medication free, but for most this doesn't happen. You're dealing with a lot and need to do whatever eases all the lousy effects of all this.
Avatar n tn Hi, What all does a psychiatrist actually do to diagnose you with social anxiety disorder? Like do they just talk to you and give you treatment options. Or do they have to do a bunch of like blood work? AND, what medications are prescribed to teenagers(below 18 years old) with social anxiety disorders. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Since I have been weening myself off the medication It's been really hard my anxiety is at a high and I really don't sleep well at night anymore. So I been doing alot of reading just trying to focus. I Wish You the Best Of Luck Just talk to your doctor about it . I feel that I can't even stop taking the 10 ml because I'm afraid that my anxiety will be to horrible. So i still am talking to my Dr. about how bad the 10 ml will be during my pregnancy when I do get pregnant.
1267205 tn?1321120728 What would anyone suggest for managing high anxiety ? What meds are available ? I am currently on ciprilex, but it can send me into mania. Any suggestions ?
Avatar f tn I've been trying to concieve now for a year and i have terrible anxiety. Ive had it for 4 years now with no relief. I've been to every doctor imaginable and have no relief. I currently take zoloft but i have been trying to slowly take less in case i get pregnant but my anxiety and panic attacks get worse. I desperatley want a baby but my fear of being pregnant with no medication scares me terribly. Has anyone taking medication while pregnant and is it ok?
Avatar f tn I am seeing someone regularly for my anxiety, and I'm taking medication for it. I normally only have general anxiety and when I do have what I assume are panic attacks, they never cause me physical pain. I don't really have very much stress on me right now the only thing I can think of is my sleep schedule, I've gone from sleeping for 10 hours and waking up exhausted to more recently 3-6 hours and being unable to fall back asleep.
Avatar f tn Does anybody what the dosage for someone like me would be and what are the names of anxiety medications that doctors prescribe?
Avatar f tn if your doctor told you that you had this, you wouldn't think twice about taking the needed medication, and anxiety is no different. Don't get hung up on because this is mental and not physical, that you should be able to handle it on your own because we rarely can. It sounds like you've endured a lot, do what is needed to no longer be held hostage by anxiety. Keep an open mind regarding medications and I wish you all the best!
Avatar n tn I am a 34 year old female who suffers from Anxiety. My one biggest symptom is that I have severe shortness of breath. I assume that the shortness of breath is from Anxiety because every other test comes back negative. The doctor decided to put me on Effexor xr and it worked well but it is very expensive and I don't like being on it. I have tried to go off a few times but as soon as I do--I can't breath. How can I get over this? I can't take this feeling anymore.
Avatar f tn I am a 19 year old male recently I've been having off the charts anxiety. I fear that I may have something wrong with my heart, I may have a brain tumor, or I have a lung cancer(I smoked for 1 year and 8 months. Till I finally quit 4 months ago) I constantly get wierd chest pains. On my left breast and sometimes right, they are sharp. Also I am having a lot of phlegm. I get sharp pain on the right side of my head, just above my ear. also I get the same sharp pain when I bend over.
Avatar f tn hey my names mike and i have mad anxiety and panic attacks all the time my brothers a Doc and I have been threw it all it kinda runs in my family but w/e ok so first you need to understand whats going on when you have the panic attack and the best way to describe it and to calm yourself down when you have or having it is theres something called "fight or Flight" its a natural process your body goes threw when there is a "thret" (ex.
Avatar f tn It takes about five minutes to return to normal to where I can finally move. I've talked to people, and the last thing I want is medication because that causes anxiety too. I've gone to the ER multiple times and they always say anxiety, but I convince myself it could be something else besides anxiety. Could it be? I feel something is legitimately wrong.
233782 tn?1265130367 I am on medication for it which helps. As a child I use to have seperation anxiety very bad... To this day...if I get a cut which makes blood..I get lightheaded and nauseau...I have to sit or lay down..I've never fainted. I remember visiting in a hospital and feeling the same way when the nurse came in to take blood from a friend. By the way, I am 38. So I'm not comparing myself to a 6 yr old. I am a lot older, obviously. What I'm thinking is that anxiety could cause a lot of grief.
Avatar n tn Im still feeling full of anxiety and it seems my mind is racing to find an answer to a question I dont even know Im asking... Ive told my doctor, and hes got me on new meds. he says theyll take a week or whatever to work in. do racing thoughts usually accompany panic anxiety? i thought they were only involved in like, schizophrenia or the like... any comments?
Avatar m tn I also am withdrawing from xanax and it messed me up worse. It made me more dizzy, anxiety x999, muscle twitchyness, can't seem to stand still, and just alot more other symptoms. I want to know what I can do to fix this, i just started taking Lexapro 5mg for 1 week and a half, and it hasn't helped much. But everytime i take a lil bit of xanax (.125) my anxiety goes down, and my dizzyness as well. My xanax dose was (.25mg twice a day) and i only took for 1 month and a half.
Avatar n tn Hi I've been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin in the AM despite a diagnosis of anxiety. I'm about to start taking buspar along with it. Has anyone actually had success with Wellbutrin and anxiety? It's made me a lot worse. Has anyone taken buspar (or anything else) and benefited enough from it to stay on wellbutrin? I also suffer from moderate atypical depression (sleep and eat a lot) so that's why my dr put me on wellbutrin, but I'm pissed she didn't address the anxiety right away.
Avatar f tn Hello. Am new to medhelp. Is there anyone that can help with the names of physicians that can treat, diagnose, or help in any way whatsoever with this in adults? Thanks.
