Avatar f tn i am a memeber of a social group for kids with aspergers, a few months ago a few of the mothers were talking about their children taking clonidine the moms noticed favorable results, i am familiar with this drug, i did not know that developmental pediatric doctors, are now putting aspie kids on clonidine, how do you feel about this?
Avatar f tn I'm planning on going back onto medication for depression and anxiety as it's got much worse since being pregnant. I think after your first trimester any defects people claim pills can cause are massively decreased because your baby is developed much more. Just go through all options with your doctor first and any cons of pills you may take. Ask to see a counsellor as well as that may help as well.
Avatar m tn Your withdrawal is so bad because you stopped taking it abruptly. You need to slowly wean off these medications. I have never had a problem getting my doctor to call in a few days worth until I could see him, because they know you cannot abruptly stop taking it. I guess they are all different in that respect. I don't have an answer other than maybe a local clinic, but that takes time. I understand exactly what you mean about fair treatment in our country.

Avatar f tn My mother who is 83 has recently been getting bad anxiety for about 1 month now. She is currently on celexa for depression for 15 yrs, which helps, and for the past week on zopiclone to help her sleep at night which is helping. She is on klonopin .25 mg one a day and it does not do much for her anxiety. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, there is a one year wait to see a psychiatrist. I have heard xanax is an excellent drug for panic and anxiety, would love some good advice.

Avatar f tn I have a sleep disorder that was caused by taking medication for anxiety, but the anxiety itself never gave me chronic sleep problems -- it only affected me when something really hard for me to do was coming up. So it differs by the person, and the correct diagnosis is important. Something that helped me a lot until the medication problem was exercising regularly and meditating daily. As for the Zoloft, Mom has already explained that for you.
2216810 tn?1420856876 I'm afraid this will scare people to death. Are you saying anxiety causes you to have seizures? I'm doubting that. It can be confusing because GABA is tied to both anxiety and seizures. And mood stabilizers usually indicate a psychosis, not anxiety. I'm just wondering. I've had anxiety for most of my adult life, but seizures have never appeared as a threat except from the medication used to treat anxiety. Peace.
Avatar n tn Thank you for the advice.......that is what I feel like I can't sleep anymore. Did you have just take the Paxil or anything else with it?
Avatar m tn Im on this anxiety medication im wondering if it will make me better orbis just like for symptoms for the day ir somthin
Avatar n tn Also my psychiatrist told me alot of people who suffer from anxiety/depression will think the medication is making them worse because the are already struggling with anxiety/depression. However, some medications just don't work for people, or cause side effects such as fatigue. I was on lexapro 10mg for a year, then stopped, and started to take it again for a little over a month and it no longer worked for my anxiety. So I slowly weaned off the lexapro and switched to cymbalta.
Avatar f tn Im afraid of becoming addicted to them, and from what I hear most anxiety medication is highly addictive so I have put off any sort of treatment for my anxiety.
1679320 tn?1306382914 is it possible that anxiety doest come back after taking medication for it or is it a guaranteed to hit you again after stopping?
Avatar f tn I have some anxiety issues along with depression - my doctor had prescribed Celexa for me to try, but I felt like it was causing some sharp pains in my head so I stopped taking it. I have since been referred to a physchiatrist who I have seen only once so far -- he unknowingly prescribed the same thing for me to try saying it has the least side effects. I'm too nervous to take it!! It causes anxiety to think about taking it because of the possible side effects.
1394262 tn?1369625192 Hi anyone taking anxiety medication & trying to conceive? I am trying to conceive & am dealing with my anxiety issue at the same time. I am thinking if I should see a psychiatrist for help. I will appreciate it if you could share with me if you are suffering from any side effect from anxiety medication or not. Thanks.
Avatar f tn So before I was pregnant I had extreme anxiety, and was on and off medication. Didnt really like the effects - I was either a mindless zombie, or super nice and happy. And for the first 2 trimesters my anxiety had been pretty low. But, now I'm 35 weeks and the anxiety is so bad. I get it for big things, small things, or i'll even just be sitting watching tv and get hit with a huge wave of anxiety for no reason. I've started scratching my self..
Avatar f tn I know this may sound ridiculous but its the best ive felt in a long time. Years ago when i had to take this medication i had the same feelings. Is there any reason for this? Is there anything that i can take that does not alter the mind or your chemical structure in your brain that can just cause this kind of relaxation in the same way?
1771101 tn?1314103509 I am a widowed mother of 4 children ages, 2,3,7, and 8 and I need to maintain some form of sanity to care for my children. I was very hesitant about taking medication and am hoping to have some success with Zoloft. I know that everyones body responds differently to medications but any positive feedback re: Zoloft usage and getting back to some form of normalcy would be greatly appreciated as I am very discouraged and thinking that I will be this way forever. Thank you everyone.
1895346 tn?1321305844 lFor several years I was treated for bipolar with lithium, clonipin, and one antipsycotic after another. I live in a very small area and our county mental health dept. shut down. When I went to our community clinic they took me off of lithium because I was losing my hair and the clonipin because it COULD be misused. and put on serequel which I was told would help all my symptoms. It did not. Now I can't drive, hell I can't even leave my house.
