Avatar n tn (worst pains I've ever had) From what I have read and heard, peptic ulcer and other Gastric type issues are very common for those of us with anxiety/panic disorder, etc. Be careful, and don't wait like I did until I could barely move because of the Ulcer pain. Also, I have had to cut caffeine out, atleast 95% of the normal intake (hehe), due to the Ulcer, and I can't say for certain but it may be helping the panic issues some.
Avatar m tn (a) Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), (b) Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or conduct disorder, but it is difficult to disentangle those features from those of BPD. Avatar m tn 1 This brief and general account, at least brief in contrast to a whole book that some people write on the subject of their bipolar experience, summarizes both the long history of this illness and where I am at present in what has been a life-long battle. I think it is important to state, in conclusion, that I possess a clinical disorder, a bio-chemical imbalance, having to do with brain chemistry.
147426 tn?1317269232 Well, my very wise and dear nurse practitioner asked the right questions, and stated that I had about 7 out of 10 symptoms of depression and anxiety disorder. She immediately put me on Paxil and asked if I would be willing to talk to someone. I knew of a good therapist and after awhile I began to deal with "stuff" that I had locked away. I saw him for a long time and was amazed at how much better I felt about myself. I quit looking in the mirror and saying horrid things to myself!

937868 tn?1379188559 It is a go-to medicine for people with bipolar disorder. I take it along with a safe anxiety medicine called buspirone to treat my depression. Works great. I have tried a lot of other meds that did not work so great. It took around 20 adjustments to get me where I am today. Please remember there is valuable scientific evidence out there. Meds are a normal and necessary part of life for a bipolar person. I take tons of supplements, try to exercise and eat well too.
Avatar m tn So, my hope is that your wife has started a medication and in about 6 to 8 weeks, things will improve. Anxiety can create a situation with some people (and ptsd is a disorder that falls under the anxiety umbrella) that results in this explosive anger and volatility that you describe. Most likely, your wife's therapy will address this and give your wife some techniques for controlling it.

It is very different than an echocardiogram but a very useful tool in diagnosis. It adds to the overall evaluation of heart health.
1965148 tn?1354982234 A diagnosis is important because then you can get on some medications that will help you if you do have bipolar and can start researching the disorder to help educate yourself on how to best help you. There are other things like a thyroid imbalance that can cause bipolar like symptoms so it is important you go and get a physical from a general doctor. The most important thing right now is to keep track of how you are feeling. The diary is a great idea.
