Anxiety disorder nos symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Anxiety disorder nos symptoms

Avatar f tn ve had symptoms that could fall under acute stress disorder, panic disorder, general anxiety disorder, and depression. Sometimes the symptoms can fit in one catagory and then switch over to a different catagory. For example, in the past I've had frequent panic attacks throughout the day. Overtime, I've found triggers (more trivial than life threatening) for some while others just happen. Majority of the symptoms began after 2 years of profound stress.
3579868 tn?1348739509 Bipolar nos is where they put you when you obviously show some symptoms of bipolar disorder but they do not know which classification to put you in. There is also schizoaffective disorder which can have some symptoms simmilar to bipolar disorder. I think it is actually on the schizophrenia spectrum but from my understanding it can be like a cross between bipolar and schizophrenia.

5757880 tn?1395578022 Yes, sensory integration disorder is a separate diagnosis from PDD, aspergers and autism. People can have one without the other or they can have both. But sensory symptoms are considered common with autism but not an actual symptom to diagnose. I wish you much success with your son as I'm sure it is hard. My own son was diagnosed at 4 with sensory integration disorder.
1319752 tn?1274426091 [92] Because this condition can mimic organic mental disorders, such as panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, or even schizophrenia, a number of medical professionals believe caffeine-intoxicated people are routinely misdiagnosed and unnecessarily medicated when the treatment for caffeine-induced psychosis would simply be to stop further caffeine intake.
Avatar n tn The NOS means not otherwise specified. It means you have symptoms but don't fit into any one specific category. Sometimes this is used while the psychiatrist gets to know you and a more specific diagnosis is made. Hope this helps.
1561480 tn?1295165750 RockRose - I did not know that. Our nephew was tested for Asperger's but he was too high-functioning and so was diagnosed with PDD-NOS. At the time he was about 30 years old so it was just a few years ago.

Avatar f tn Do you think I’m suffering from a mood disorder because the SSRI’s made me have a jittery racey anxiety?!?! This anxiety feeling is the same type of feeling you get when you take too much Wellbutrin or too much caffeine. And what do you think about the meds SSRIs vs Mood Stabilizers?

Avatar f tn my 5 year old is in developmental pre-school for language delay and social skills (diagnosed with PDD-NOS, school leans toward anxiety disorder). Environment in pre-school is VERY structured (more structured than it will be in kindergarten).
Avatar n tn PDD-NOS can have some ADHD - like symptoms. You are saying that teachers are complaining - does he have any help at school? Are they teaching him to sit down and pay attention? In my child's school (he is 4), they use behavioral methods in order to get him to "sit and concentrate" - reward systems, choices, fidget toys. A very good psych I know says that effects, long term and short term of all these meds, are not studies in young children. What is his main ADHD issue? Aggression?
Avatar n tn Another suggestion would be PDD-NOS - pervasive developmental disorder - not otherwise specified. This disorder is also on the autism spectrum but is often a higher functioning form of autism than Asperger's. I might suggest you google the phrase "PDD NOS" or the full term "pervasive developmental disorder" to see if the description of behaviours is similar to those of your son.
Avatar f tn i was about your age when i started experiencing my symptoms of anxiety and bipolar disorder. its great that you are noticing it at want to do something about it. there are adults that wait a lifetime to do anything about it or they don't realize whats going on until its too late. also i recommend finding a good therapist as well they go hand in hand. youll need therapy and medication. that's what im doing and its the best option and most people do that. Goodluck!
