Avatar f tn This might be a bit lengthy, but here goes. Depression, lack of desire for previously enjoyable activities, anxiety-especially in social situations, insomnia, migraines, numbed emotions, unfounded fear, disturbing dreams, short term memory lapses, and difficulty concentrating. Thee are prolly a couple more, but these are the most bothersome.

The list that I saw on this forum for anxiety is so huemunges that it looks like all the things that I do have. Or I have most ot the symptoms. What meds do I take for all that? My doctors have never brought up being anxious, not even my psychiatrist. I take meds to keep me alert, help me sleep, just don't like any of them. Any comments for me out there.

Avatar f tn Have you also had a history of depression? Have you reached out for help through counseling? In my experience with anxiety and depression, I initially felt very isolated and did not believe anyone could understand what I was experiencing. Once I sought help, I improved greatlyand begun to understand what exactly I was going through...just remember that you are not alone with this.
Avatar m tn I believe that for me not being able to feel good for a long time it has out me into some type of depression. I am just wondering if depression can cause anxiety and can it cause brain fog? My doctor believes that it is a panic disorder but the perscription he gave me for the past month is not really curing anything that is why I believe it has to do with depression.
Avatar m tn I once had a therapist tell me, that the depression and anxiety will often resolve itself once the ADHD is properly addressed and managed; she was right for the most part in my opinion. Environment can also play an enormous part in the management of a disorder.. ADHD coupled with depression and/or anxiety can become a vicious cycle if it goes untreated.
Avatar m tn Listen to your dr., he should know.. But from what you say, Yes, depression/anxiety should be considered.
Avatar m tn If you feel that you are slipping into true depression, you need to see a therapist (which most insurance covers) and someone to prescribe medication for depression. It is so hard to have someone hurt us this way. I wish you the best of luck.

1445257 tn?1289280526 I also have been diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying, major depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. I have moderate to severe joint pain, sciatica, and chronic arthritis. I forgot to add that I had a TIA a few months ago, due to my poorly controlled blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Which in turn is stressful and thus causing depression, anxiety and many other problems. Environment; Say you have a poor, low paid job, with loads of hours. And you just hate it. Home life is a mess, a loved one has died. Of course you're going to be depressed, this is a part of acceptance, and because you've basically just "given up" on everything. The fact that you've given up, means that you have a negative attitude towards allot of things. And it's just a huge factor.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Metoprolol for about 1 year. Started at 25 mg. I weighed 170lbs at ~5'5, October 2007. Upped to 50mg. Gained to 195, March 2008. Upped to 100mg. Gained to 220lbs, July 2008. I am now at 220 still at 100mg. I have been experiencing depression & anxiety while on this med. Never really before since taking it, maybe minor depression in middle school/high school. I am now 19 & have pretty severe depression with no mental health insurance.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have ocd and anxiety and up until a year ago had bad depression. Iv been on meds for about a year now but over the last 2 weeks have noticed my thoughts are bothering me again and making me feel very down. My moods completely dropped and I'm worried my meds have stop having an effect. Last time I felt this way was over a year ago when I was in deep depression, and now I'm scared as I'm having some of the same symptoms pop up again.
1559289 tn?1294753213 Hi. You may want to talk to your doctor about getting a longer acting anxiety medication. Xanax is short acting and is usually prescribed on an "as needed" basis, there are others that last longer and can control your anxiety 24/7. Your prescribing doctor needs to know how you are feeling so he can adjust your medication accordingly, you don't need to feel this way. You may want to think about therapy as well to learn if there is a root cause for your anxiety.
Avatar f tn Your anxiety sounds kind of like mine. Are you an everyday worrier? Totally over analyze everything? Does your stomach stay in a constant "knot" alot? Like bad butterflies in your stomach? That's my main symptom.. and it *****. The thing with benzos like lorazapam , is that they are addictive. I have lorazapam too! And am JUST LIKE YOU it sounds like. I only take it when I REALLY need one... and I usually just take one before bed if I have too..
Avatar f tn My doc gave me beta blocker, which help against anxiety and fast heart beat, but the anxiety is all the time there, I noticed it when beta blocker pill decline. It is possible that we have those symptoms because of the hormon imbalance? My Doc try to convince me that I'm just depressed or stressed and burn out, but I can't believe it.
Avatar f tn Klonipin is not always the best medication for many people suffering depression because it can add to the exaustion that depression is often famous for. I am a firm believer that Psycotropic medications should only be prescribed by a Board Certified Psychiatrist. BTW keep in mind that medications like Citalopram, AKA Celexa, can take up to 30 days before a response can be expected. Regardless I really think you would do much better under the care of a Psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn Hi there; I also suffer with anxiety and depression, so i can totally understand how you feel. I was not prescribed Prozac, I am on Cipramil, but it takes 2 weeks according to my doctor for the drug to start working and can make anxiety temporarily increase when you first start taking it. Try not to think about if it is working or not because that will also increase your anxiety as well.
Avatar n tn Even if you've gotten your period by then, still make a note to discuss the effects of not only the medication but of stress and depression on your cycles. It's really amazing how little it can take to throw our schedules out of whack. Try not to worry about it, but.......if you just can't, call your doctors office. His nurse or PA can probably put your mind at ease. I'm sure it's just nerves. Been there............
237053 tn?1258832026 I really thought maybe I was going crazy. I have anxiety all of the time and was wondering if i need medication for it!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression, OCD and possible mixed phase mania/bipolar. I've had all the typical anxiety symptoms, but more than anything I've had a growing sense of daytime sleepiness, disconnectedness from reality and my body, and weird occurrences relating to sleep. It's like a woozy dizzy feeling that comes with a lot of brain fog. On top of that, I've recently been having times when I feel high or almost as if I'm having an orgasm, that sort of toe curling euphoria.
1392211 tn?1286333242 They are the best to deal with anxiety and depression and know the medications well. Don't fool around with GP's with this and go to those trained to deal with it. They may also recommend Therapy to help you thru this tough time.
Avatar n tn A few years ago I was drugged and attacked and ever since then I have developed an anxiety disorder as well as PTSD. I am terrified of taking any type of medication, even aspirin. I have finally begun therapy, and my therapist really wants me to try to take something and I was prescribed a low dose, 37.5mg of Venlafaxine (Effexor) by my primary care doctor. I have read all the possible side effects, one of which is seizure.
1669548 tn?1318792334 Once diagnosed with anxiety and/or depression they can return to flying after being off medication and symptom free for 90 days. However, herbal remedies are not banned and they suggest a week of ground use before flying to determine what side effects they may have from something like St. Johns Wort. There are other professions who have strict guidelines as well, like Air Traffic Controllers, the DOT, etc.
