Avatar m tn A natural remedy that seems to help relatively quickly is 5HTP. It is a natural enzyme. My daughter uses between 50 to 100 mg a day.It seems to help her quite a bit.
Avatar f tn Previous psychologists have recommended Xanax but she wants to take the natural way, as before she defeated the anxiety with out drugs Before these recent panic attacks she was on natural hormones because she was having irregular periods and painful ones. Her hormones are unbalanced. Doctors have recommended that she go on birth control but she doesn't want the side effects that come with it.
Avatar f tn Are there any over the counter meds that I can take daily at home for anxiety attacks. I have at least two attacks every day, but I have no insurance to go to a doctor for a prescription med.
Avatar f tn It is marketed as a 'natural' supplement to treat anxiety. In my opinion, you really have to be careful with some 'natural remedies.' Just because it has this word, does not mean that it is safe or effective to use...furthermore, it has not been tested by the FDA. However, I cannot speak of experience because I have not taken this before. Why did you go off of Celexa? Were you having problems with it?

Avatar f tn Now that I am clean i have horrible anxiety with occasional panic attacks. I just ordered some 5htp and wondered if anybody else has tried this and if they like it?
Avatar f tn For most people it starts with the aura you describe, then proceeds to an awful headache. There are natural treatments for this and medication as well. They often occur following a bout of anxiety, because they are caused by constriction of the blood vessels in the extremities and then a lot of blood flowing to the head as the vessels open. Meditation has been known to prevent them; it worked for me pretty much. Regular exercise helps as well.
Avatar n tn If there is something all natural that may help this anxiety/nervous stomach she gets?? I thought she would eventually get through this without help but she may need something else until she can overcome these attacks.
Avatar f tn The anxiety is not doing either because it can't. You are over-analyzing your body because anxiety is making you fear something is wrong, so you keep track of every little pain you experience now whereas without anxiety you would just ignore an ouch here and there - we all get them and ignore them. You may actually have a physical issue like a sore throat from an infection or dryness, but you would have to see doc for that diagnosis, but anxiety is not causing it.
1348686 tn?1310654243 I am hoping that someone can help me. I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for 9 years now. The last 8 days have been horrible. My anxiety is off the charts and everyday I have been having several really bad panic attacks. I am trying to find an alternative to medication to help deal with the anxiety and attacks. I just started taking a multi vitamin and I love chamomile tea but I am so afraid to drink the tea if i took the vitamin in fear of interactions. Crazy????
Avatar f tn Most of the time people with anxiety attacks get them because of stress so anything that will help you relax can help build up stress and prevent attacks.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried any vitamins for anxiety or panic attacks? Such as Niacin, Valerian vitamin b3, b12 or anything? I was reading up on some things.
Avatar m tn Are there any natural treatments for lyme disease? Can the body over time fight off lyme disease and clear the disease?

Avatar n tn If you really want to know about natural remedies for mental problems, there's a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass. She's a psychiatrist associated with UCLA med school. Using natural remedies usually requires a combination of herbs and amino acids, B vitamins and minerals. If you really get panic attacks, it's going to take a lot of work, and best to see a naturopath who knows the stuff well. Never heard of PanicAway, but as silverberg describes it, probably bogus.
Avatar f tn ve been having extreme amounts of anxiety that turns into rage or I have panic attacks so severe that I almost pass out or puke. I've had problems with anxiety before but not to the point of there not even being a trigger and it happing. It's got to stop!! I feel like its all but consuming my life and I refuse to let that happen. Do any of you know of a vitamin or something that helps? I refuse to go back on prescription because it messed me up so bad.
Avatar f tn Anyone else suffer from anxiety or panic attacks that is currently pregnant? This is my fist pregnancy and I feel like I'm a wreck.
1531606 tn?1324836643 My brother rushed me to the ER where they checked all my vitals and everything checked out fine. Again, I was told it is anxiety. I went to my natural care doctor who started me on acupuncture sessions and gave me a supplement called "stress essentials". I have been to 3 acupuncture appointments and have been taking the stress essentials for 2 weeks. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck with this combination of treatments.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been having problems with acid reflux(severe) and tension headaches (over ten years) my doctor figured it to be caused by anxiety, I had panic attacks but could deal with them. He put me on Lexapro 5mg and by the second dose had insomnia, panic attacks, rapid heart beat, so he lowered my dose to 2.5mg that was fine for 10 days and all of the sudden it was like the first few days but worse because I also couldn't eat, I went off of it.

Avatar f tn I am suffering from EXTREME peri-menopausal symptoms including panic attacks, and heart palpatations, as well as night sweats that happen so often I haven't had a good nights sleep in well over a year. I have been to the gynocoligist, internist, endocrinoligist. The internist put me on effexor about 6 months ago, but as I have reported to him, I see no difference. I have healthy eating habits, and I exercise on a regular basis, and have always been EXTREMELY healthy.
Avatar f tn All that being said I am looking at natural ways to help cure/stop/prevent whatever the anxiety/panic attacks. I have gotten great suggestions about breathing techniques that I have started to do but I am wondering if I should be taking a vitamin or herb that will help along with the breathing. I am taking a prenatal vitamin daily (i had a baby 7 months ago) so that is the only vitamin I am on currently.
Avatar n tn yes, but it's different for everyone. some people require medication... and therapy. Some people just need therapy. Some people do good on natural supplements. It's all about what is right for you. =) Does the medication help you?
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for several years now. They have been mild and not often up until recently. I have always been able to "talk myself out of them" but then got so bad that I was awake ALL night with anxiety symptoms-fast heart rate, shaking, dizziness, etc- I was just put on Wellbutrin XL 150 a day and xanax for immediate help during attacks.
