Avatar f tn It can be difficult to distinguish between the original anxiety, stressinduced anxiety and the medication-induced anxiety(if there is any). The hormon system is complicated as such and I know from my own experience that stress(increased stresshormone levels) causes me to become more emotional labile during the menstrual cycle.
Avatar n tn I have been researching all over the web about heart palpitations and menstrual cycle as I thought I was going insane. I'm 25 years old and I started getting palpitations of November 2011, I was on birth control pills during that time and stopped it after I got my panic attack due to hormones I was getting mad palpitations, shortness of breath, I felt crazy. My mom works at the lab and drew my blood and everything was normal that gave me some sense of relief.
Avatar f tn what could cause shortness of breath during my menstrual cycle? this began when i was 11 years old and i've now been dealing with it for 28 years. some months are worse than others. it usually just lasts a few days but is miserable. it can begin a few days before my period starts or during my period. it seems to be a hereditary thing. my mother and grandmother had the same problem and my daughter also seems to have it. i've asked doctors about it and nobody seems to have any clue.
200220 tn?1361955154 Pay attention to other signs with your body, in my hyper state which comes along with the anxiety, I have menstrual changes, a ravenous appetite, frequent BM's, my nails grow fast, and i lose weight. My TSH spikes in the night and often am up walking the floors, also during a hyper phase I'm intolerant to alot of foods, and muscles and joints are very weak and painful. Currently prescribed Corgard, Xanax, and synthroid.
Avatar f tn my chest tightness came back, and my anxiety has been through the roof. I have had 2 anxiety attacks in 3 days, and I am not sure if its just a symptom of this all, or if I should be worried? (worry, is probably not going to help...
Avatar f tn happen consistently, like before your menstrual cycle? After the attack has resolved, do you feel pretty much like yourself, or do those feelings linger? Have you seen your doctor? When was the last time you've had a thorough physical? How is your home life and support system? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but the additional info will really help us to give you more specific suggestions.
Avatar n tn So, give yourself a break, this can be a tough time for you. I charted my cycle with my anxiety attacks and it became blatantly obvious there was a correlation. I charted everything. When I had a panic attack, and the level from 1 - 10. My menstrual cycle, what other stressors were in my life and I put it on a monthly chart that I could show my psychiatrist. It made everything very clear and easy to see where my anxiety came from and how we could work to resolve it.
Avatar f tn also, any tips on how to get over the anxiety of going to a gynocologist? I havent been in for years because of the anxiety attacks just thinking about it! Was checked out right after a rape and havent been back since. Thank you and I hope you can help me with this.
Avatar n tn I was given (for anxiety attacks) a prescription for Effexor XR at 37.5 mg and expected to increase my dose. I did not increase the dose and remain on 37.5 mg. My doc is okay with this. I've been taking Effexor XR for about 5 months. I also take Mircette (birth control) on a schedule that reduces the number of my cycles from 12 annually to 4. I've been on Mircette for about 2 years and my 4 periods were low flow (my doc is okay with this, too).
Avatar f tn Can anxiety attacks come even when you are very relax? I had been very relax, keeping myself busy all the time to distract myself and did'nt even get nervous or anxious but the attacks will still come out of the blue. I'm worry, am I having other problem? All this attack had make my life upside down, i don't even dare to go holiday and can't even leave the house by myself. Will anxiety go away naturally after change of lifestyle?
Avatar n tn I have SEVERE anxiety about 3-4 days before and throughout my cycle. It is horrible!!!! I totally understand but haven't found a way to deal with it yet. Although, I had my horomones checked and I have no estrogen so they put me on HRT, which did help a little bit so far. I will keep you posted. Also, I have heard that Soy helps??

Avatar m tn this is becoming very frightening and seems to become worse round my menstrual cycle ..can you help and tell me whet these symptoms could be ..
Avatar n tn It Started in either the end of April or the beginning of May this year when I was going through a deep depression. When I was on my menstrual cycle I started getting sharp shooting pains on the right top side of my head. When the pain would shoot, I would feel a post nasal drip run down my nostril and down my throat. And I noticed that my eyes were getting very sensitive to light. When my cycle stopped, the pain stopped.
Avatar f tn I would have feelings of derealization/slight dizziness/ feeling like losing control while driving on the highway. It seemed to coincide with my menstrual cycle. I went to my dr who told me she thought it was anxiety and put me on zoloft. She started me on 50mg and I had immediate side effects (I should have titrated up)... I was nauseated, couldn't sleep, shaking, extreme anxiety, etc. I was driving to therapy and had my first ever panic attack.
Avatar f tn my doctor wont prescribe me with hrt as im a smoker and she feels i dont need them also she wont give me a relaxer as she says there to addictive ive been on my menstrual cycle since 23rd june with a day or 2 break in between and they jst keep coming every week.im at the end of my tether i just want to get better. i am waiting to c a gyno to c can she help and im also starting couscelling in october at this stage i am trying anything.
Avatar n tn I've been exercising on a regular basis for about 2 years now and only recently i've been experiencing this. I've had anxiety attacks for about 2 years also. Has this also happened to anybody??
Avatar n tn regarding the panic attacks that last all day or longer...the effects of my panic attacks and milder anxiety attacks would mean that I would literally have to lie down for the rest of the day, go to bed early and try to get as much peace and quiet as I could (difficult with 2 small children, but made easier by an understanding husband). If I didn't do this, it was guaranteed that I'd have a full-blown, major panic attack. Listen to your body as well as your mind.
679731 tn?1226458534 I have been having anxiety attacks for about 8 years now. I have had an ongoing sinus issue for 8 years, and have had extensive sinus surgery. To my disappointment, the sinus surgery did nothing to improve my symptoms. It seems that when I have my worst "sinus" days, this is what triggers anxiety attacks. I find that very odd.
1122973 tn?1269735728 I'm such an emotional wreck, for the past two months have been some kind of hell for me. But I suppose I will have to take it from the top. On May 9th, 2009 I was enjoying the last day of my vacation in Trinidad, when that night I had a little too much to drink and wound up having unprotected sex with a "rasta" fellow I had befriended while over there .
Avatar n tn I charted my symptoms to see if it appeared to be linked to the menstrual cycle, and my Gyn barely would look at it, instead just handing me a script for an anti depressant, which I did not take. I went to a counselor and notably, at the time I was seeing the counselor my symptoms were improving. Because they were improving, he did not go into teaching me any coping mechanisms or any CBT. We just chatted about life and that was it.
Avatar f tn I believe that anxiety can definitely affect your menstrual cycle, just like any kind of stress can affect it. And anxiety is for sure STRESSFUL. I noticed that the few months leading up to Panic Attack 2010, (the official name I've given the occasion), my period was very light and didn't last long at all. I was starting to get worried about that, then the great Panic Attack 2010 came along and now my period has gone in the opposite direction......as in it's way too heavy and way too long.

Avatar f tn I am just concerned that messing with my hormones will make my anxiety worse. I just wanted to know have any of you with anxiety and panic attacks had a hysterectomy and if so how did it go?
Avatar f tn I'm a 24 year old female who recently started experiencing severe anxiety, to my knowledge. About 11 months ago I went on birth control to help cope with my severe menstrual cycle and acne flare ups. While it did cure my acne, I started having panic attacks. Almost every day. I eventually made a trip to the ER where they ran several tests and took CT scans. Everything came back normal and I was told it's anxiety. I quickly linked the anxiety to my birth control and went off of it in April.
Avatar f tn I seem to think my anxiety maybe be linked to my menstrual cycle?? Because days before it's due, i get all them crazy feelings again..up until 1 week after then I'm fine for 3 weeks...I'm i just making up another excuse or I'm i on to something here? Does anyone have this same feeling? PLEASE, all comments are appreciated!
Avatar n tn I'm 21 years old,and just started having anxiety attacks about a month ago.I am so terrified of dying that it worsens the attacks.I've went to the E.R several times in the past few years, with bad chest pains.I thought I was having a heart-attack.It runs in my family on the male side,so everytime my chest hurts I think i'm having a heart-attack even though I am female. lol .
