Avatar n tn Her son, my husband is a very gentle man but we drove up there and spent 3 nights with her to observe. Twice we had to call 911 for an ambulance due to severe anxiety attacks in the middle of the night. He took her home from the hospital, left me at the house, and had a talk with her in the car. He told her she COULD NOT go on like this and that she HAD to go to assisted living right away. He's a big guy, firm but gentle and she agreed.
Avatar f tn I am now my elderly parents only living child. So now I have my special needs son, my elderly parents and have to help with my brothers kids . I thought I was handling everything okay, but upon one of my many 3 hour trips to go help my parents go through my brothers house/belongings I had to pull over because my heart was racing so unbelievably fast I didn't want to die behind the wheel.
1348086 tn?1370786785 Anxiety is showing it's ugly head again. I was wondering if this happens to everyone. One anxiety spell, I will be dizzy and short of breath. Another time it will be stomach cramps and gas. Sometimes my heart is racing 120 bpm. Sometimes I feel achy all over. It seems that here lately my anxiety attacks never bring out the same symptoms.
Avatar n tn All blood work, EKG/MRI/CT scans have come back negative. No previous history of depression. 1st Dr diag anxiety/panic and prescribed Xanax/Ambien, which gave relief. After a few months, Xanax started to require larger and larger doses to remain effective although we were still under the max recommended dose. 2nd Dr diag depression and prescribed Cymbalta. On 30mg Cymbalta, symptoms back to the same to worse as before Xanax, to which he added .
Avatar n tn My mother is 77 years old and has been going through depression and has been having anxiety attacks over simple things like leaving the house. She is very tired all the time has lost intrest in many things including eating. She has lost 25lbs in the past year. My mom has been very resistaint to seeing a phycologist. She finally went to her general doctor. He put her on Celexa 20mg a day and told her to take it for 3 weeks and see if it works for her.

248167 tn?1220367290 Hi, I have had anxiety or panic attacks along with my neurological symptoms. It can be awful. Sometimes I think if you have symptoms and are not having any "anxiety" there might be underlying issues. I am not sure, but I think transient ischemic attacks happen a lot of the time in the elderly, although I suppose could happen in someone younger if they have underlying health issues.
Avatar n tn They also said I was lucky to have been diagnosed early as many people search for help for a long time and their panic attacks and anxiety as well as their balance get worse and as they stop doing stuff and going places (i used to get it real bad in shops, grocery store isles, also driving, anywhere there is lots of visual stimuli). Stopping going places then makes it impossible for the balance system to recover etc, vicious circle.
Avatar m tn This is my first post and I would like to say it’s really comforting know that so many people suffer from anxiety. I have been experience anxiety since July 2010. My first attack was triggered from a night of heavy drinking. Lately my anxiety is just getting the best of me and is starting to be a regular ocurance even when I don’t consume alcohol. It comes out of nowhere and am left in feeling impending doom.
Avatar n tn I finally stopping because i didn't have any money one month and realized my family was more important. Now I have been having anxiety attacks, They come on from worrying about anything, even life itself. The only time I remember having this anxiety was the first time i stopped drinking - so we believe drinking is the cause. It has been almost 2 months, I still have been having anxiety attacks but at least now we know why.
Avatar n tn I am suffering from true health anxiety and I am hoping that some of you may have been in my shoes and can help. My fears all stem from perceived heart disease risk. I am a 38 year old female, 2 small kids. For years I have had high chol and bp issues (now on meds), but I have always been upset about this b/c I knew of no one else my age who had these problems in their 20s or 30s. I fear that because these things appeared at a young age, that I will die at a young age.
242516 tn?1368227505 This new box warning via FDA is something i've been aware of for some time in patients using ciprofloxaxin, levaquin (levofloxacin), Moxifloxacin (Avelox), ofloxacin (floxin), gatifloxacin (tequin), and i'm glad it'll be highlighted on labeling, showing it's increasing incidence: risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture is further increased in those over age 60, in kidney, heart, and lung transplant recipients, and with use of concomitant steroid therapy.
Avatar f tn If someone has tremors from anxiety attacks that start and end with the anxiety attacks that's known. If someone has movements that started with a medication and get better as it wears off during the day that's standard extra pyramidal side effects (temporary movement disorders). People are correct. Klonopin will help with that and anxiety. But if the movements are tic like or emerged suddenly and don't go away speak to your psychiatrist right away and they'll do a movement disorders test.
Avatar n tn A Guided Program for Beating the Panic Trick", "Health Journeys Guided Meditations For Help With Panic Attacks", and "Managing Stress: Principles and Strategies for Health and Well-Being (Web Enhanced with CD-ROM)" I also just recently got “The Linden Method” I have already found some helpful advice in the manual that goes with the program, and the “Panic Attack Eliminator CD” that comes with the program seems helpful.

Avatar m tn however, I am currently overweight, but dieting. I have had panic attacks since I was 17. I have been on Zoloft, Lexapro, Zoloft again, Celexa, and once again back to Zoloft. I would always get slight tachycardia with panic attacks, but that wasn't usually my "main symptom". This summer, when switching back to Zoloft from Celexa, I had an episode of Tachycardia like I never felt before. I was in Florida with my friend visiting her family and in an unfamiliar environment.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, along with obsessive thinking and depression but I have a difficult time accepting this diagnosis. All symptoms were first somatic with tingling in my arms and legs. Then began some slight almost black out experiences, sleep disturbances with my body vibrating while I was asleep. All medical tests proved okay,MRI of the brain, thyroid testing, etc.During that time,I had my first intrusive thought of hurting a my first therapist that I had ever seen.
Avatar m tn I did try imipramine. It helped prevent me from getting additional anxiety attacks, but didn't stop me from still being phobic to the things I already had become phobic about. But it stopped working, and I ended up on Paxil, which worked better, but also left me destroyed upon discontinuation. The side effects of imipramine are annoying, but it does show good results.
Avatar n tn Well first I'm 24 on my 3rd child. I already have 2 little girls & im having my son November 15th. During my 2nd trimester my OB put me on antidepressant pills. But they still not working. It's making me feel even worse. Some days are better then others. But today I feel so depressed & having anxiety attacks. 3060903 tn?1398568723 Paradoxical reactions to these anxiety medications are most common in children, the elderly, and people with developmental disabilities. Other types of medications for anxiety Because of the many safety concerns linked to anti-anxiety drugs, other medications for treating anxiety have gained in popularity. The alternatives to the anti-anxiety tranquilizers include antidepressants, buspirone, and beta blockers.
Avatar f tn I was beginning to think my anxiety would never end. I used to have anxiety attacks when I was very young, and then very rarely as a teenager, but other than that I am usually very high-spirited and carefree. I'm 21 and have been on the pill since Feb 07 but stopped in November 07 for a couple of months because I was getting bad pains in my left leg, had a really bad anxiety attack and generally wasn't feeling like myself.
Avatar n tn The reason I can tie my PVCs directly to my anxiety, is due to the fact that I've suffered generalized anxiety and occasional panic attacks since my teens (over 30 years). My palps have occurred at times in my life of severe stress and anxiety, since youth. Amazingly, I have actually gone years at time, not noticing anything other than a very occasional PVC. Afterward, a phase of them might show up and last for weeks or months.
Avatar m tn I've struggled with anxiety and panic attacks on and off for many years. Combination of Klonopin and Valium with an anti-depressant like Effexor worked really well for me. The worst thing about anxiety for me is anticipatory anxiety. I get anxious about becoming anxious. A very vicious circle. After many years of med use, I recently spent a year in cognitive therapy and the difference amazing. I suggest you look into it. Good luck!!
Avatar n tn I am re-testing at week 12 which is another 9 days away. Anxiety is new for me, I've never dealt with this before. I didn't even know what panic attacks were until my doctor had diagnosed me with this.
Avatar n tn I'm 27 and have panic disorder with generalized anxiety. I manage it well and I take Xanax and Klonopin on an as needed basis. I recently discussed with my GP the fact that my blood pressure is higher than normal. It is normally 120 over 92 which isn't that bad although the 92 is borderline. I am tall and thin so it seems somewhat unusual. Anyway my GP said not to worry since it is not in the high 90's.
6282188 tn?1386372977 I just had to stop and take a breather to slow my heart rate down. I haven't had any major anxiety attacks lately. The last major one I had was back in September. Its been getting better for me. Today I've been fine all day. but i notice that i check my heart rate constantly. its become a bad habit, all it does is scare me. I hellucinate and sometimes think my heart rate is to low, sometimes to fast, sometimes irregular. But i don't know and thats what bugs me.
518117 tn?1429279873 i am praying the buspar will lower his anxiety. i myself hate anxiety and the panic attacks. you feel so powerless and out of control of yourself.
Avatar n tn I couldn't because I had awful pregnancy induced anxiety attacks all the time. I ended up putting my 2 weeks in at 15 weeks and I've been a stay at home mom since.
