535882 tn?1396576685 Sounds like you have some swelling around your eyes secondary to the poison oak exposure. As long as the vision is stable and you don't notice any increased redness or yellow/green discharge from the eyes, an infection in the eyes is less likely.

Avatar f tn I have had poison oak before that had spread all over my chest, arms, legs, and fingers. However, I got the rash again, but now it is on my upper thighs, buttocks, and very close to my vaginal area. I am extremely worried that it will spread and get worse like it did before. I am very close to the ocean and I was told that going into the salt water helps dry out the rash. I have only had it for one day, but it is very large and always itching.
Avatar n tn ve had an area on my left thigh that has been itching me like crazy, I thought it was just poison ivy or poison oak, but the more I thought about it the less likely that it was that due to my lack of being in the outdoors and what not. The area in question is red, bumpy, warm, and blotchy. I wear boxer briefs and its located in the area right above where the bottom of them hits. I'd say it's expanded slightly in width, but not in height.
Avatar n tn I used to be allergic to poison oak but recently have been going on a lot of hikes through poison oak and haven't had any rashes or reactions at all. Just a little before i had noticed the itchiness i had changed before surfing using a towel that may had been in contact with poison oak. I dont see why i would only get it on my penis area though. I'm not sure if i should trust my assumption but like a said, no one has ever touched my shaft but me! whats with that?!
Avatar n tn I have recently had unprotected sex with a new partner, last Sunday and Monday (Same partner.). I have never had this problem before, although I currently do have poison oak or poison ivy which I think may be the cause. She has been tested for STD's before and is on birth control. They do not burn in any way, only itch at times I suppose, haven't really noticed too much. Please inform me.
Avatar f tn Hi, It may be possible that you were exposed to the poisonous sap of some plants such as poison ivy, oak or sumac. The usual symptom of poisoning is a severe itching of the skin. Later, a red inflammation and a blistering of the skin occurs. In severe cases, oozing sores develop. The rash spreads by the poisonous sap or urushiol, not as the result of contamination from sores.
Avatar n tn I got a really bad case of poison oak two years ago, which went systemic, and I had to take prednisone for quite a while before it got better. Ever since then, if I eat anything with mangos in it, or sweetened with mango juice, I will have a recurrence of a rash in the exact same spots! (Mangos are in the poison oak family.) Also, any kind of skin irritation (I am prone to contact dermatitis as well, and I'm reactive to metal also) may cause those spots to erupt in a rash again.
Avatar f tn How are you? Contact with the oil of these plants: poison ivy, poison sumac, and poison oak causes most people to have a rash, blisters, and itching. The symptoms of an allergic reaction to poison ivy, sumac, or oak include the following, from least serious to most serious: itching, red blotches, blisters, fever, headache, swelling of throat and eyes, overall swelling of your body, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Usually the rash is first noticed 1 to 2 days after contact.
Avatar f tn I was worried but then noticed the bumps spread to my leg and my arm so then I thought it was poison oak because the day before I noticed the rash I went hiking were poison oak was present and i did urinate while i was hiking. I saw a doctor and she said it was poison oak. Then about two weeks ago I noticed I was getting a cough so I automatically thought HIV again the cough turned into a stuffy nose and I was fatigued.

1673665 tn?1304111210 See a MD. It could be poison oak or ivey. This could also be Psoriasis. This could be chickenpox. Hives can cause small blisters. Take a antihistamine this should help with itching.
Avatar m tn I also have the beginnings of what looks and feels like a poison oak rash on my forearm. Again, I have not been anywhere near poison oak in years, and even if it were poison oak, it wouldn't account for the incredible swelling occurring on my genitals.
Avatar m tn Any of the above could have caused this so you must give more info because lets say it is poison ....ivy or shumac or oak..there are several things to use that helps control the itching... however it would not help something such as a tick bit...You can be very specific and if you feel better talking BACK STAGE we can, just scroll over my name and a box will come up to allow you to send a message directly...either way DO NOT SCRATCH!!!!!!
Avatar n tn I was in the woods last week and think I may have gotten poison oak onto my hands. I used the bathroom while I was out there and now my groin is itchy and is slightly reddish. the skin on the left side of my scrotum has becom wrinkled and feels thick. Under my left eye it is slightly red and puffy with itching. I dont have any blisters or anything like that but I believe it may be just a mild reaction from the leaf. Am looking for advice on what this could be.
463595 tn?1333997222 t have contact with a poisonous plant like poison sumac, poison ivy, or poison oak. Go to poisonivy.aesir.com to identify any dangerous plants you may have had contact with. Use Caladryl Clear lotion to soothe the itching and pain. You'll be in my prayers.
Avatar m tn Started out as little, itchy bumps then grew into a red/purple rash and now it is scabby and warm to the touch. Its more prominent above my left foot but my right ankle is starting to get the same small bumps. I thought it may have been poison ivy or poison oak but I haven't been around any. Any suggestions/help are appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I'll start off by saying I live in Idaho & I'm severely allergic to poison oak/ivy/sumac, so bad that you'll find pictures of me in the medical texts because of when I was hosptalised for it as a child (over 75% of my body covered with massive puss-filled hives/blisters). Anyways, I have special soap that gets the plant's oil out of my skin that I use whenever I've been in the woods.
Avatar m tn he came down with a bad case of poison oak before we had sex the first time but was being treated with it by a doctor (was being given steriods) so it had been diagnosed - he is a mountain biker and is outside a lot and apparently was in contact with it there. i know he said it was on his back and rear end and groin, etc. two days after we had sex i came down with a rash on my left labia that was swollen. i went to a clinic and the doctor told me it was either syphillis or herpes.
Avatar m tn I got a really bad case of poison ivy/oak not sure which, about two year ago between my fingers, at the base webbing of my index and middle fingers. It was horrible and spread all over my hand. Now, every once in a while i have an itchy, singular, tiny little bubble that comes up in those affected areas that looks exactly like the poison ivy bubbles. I usually leave it alone but i popped one the other day and now i have more.
2102615 tn?1333613633 I have a SEVERE breakout of poison ivy (or oak - not sure which one, exactly), and am afraid that the clear liquid oozing out of the worst sites will actually cause the rash to spread. But - then again, I'm also afraid that COVERING it will prevent its ability to dry out and eventually HEAL. What's best??
Avatar m tn Yea go see the doctor. I use to get poison oak all the time and is go and get and get a shot and it would clear up in a day or two.
