antihistamine

Avatar m tn what are the best antihistamines (dust allergy) for somone with an enlarged prostate?
Avatar f tn I believe you can do immunotherapy (allergy shots) for this kind of allergy. Get pillows for sleeping that are dust mite resistant and memory foam for your bed. There are ones that are dust mite resistant. We also use air mattresses with the memory foam on top so that the dust mites can't just hang out in our mattress, it can be steamed, wiped down, more easily. Vitamin C with quercetin and bromelain are really good natural antihistamines. Might want to look into D- Hist from amazon.
Avatar n tn It would help to use some OTC antihistamine or antiallergic medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You could use calamine lotion for local application at the sites of the lesions. Have you had any such reactions in the past? Is there a positive history of allergy in the family? If the symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor about it and also ask him/her whether you need to see an allergy specialist. Let us know how you are doing and if you have any doubts. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn shower and change clothes when you come in from long periods outside, shower before bed, wash bedding every week in hot water, keep pets out of your bedroom, allergy proof covers for pillows, matress and boxsprins (mainly for dust/dust mite allergy), keep doors and windows closed as much as possible. 4) consider seeing an allergist, being tested and starting shots. They really work and do wonders for control after 6 months to a year.
Avatar n tn Is it dust that bothers you? For me when i dust it helps if I use that swiffer duster, because it grabs the dust and holds on to it instead of keeping it flying around in the air, and i also make sure to dust every week so there's less of it. Maybe using a little mask while dusting would help? Also try googling "watercure" and "asthma" online...
Avatar m tn If the allergen is not known, you may benefit from an allergy test. An over-the-counter antihistamine-decongestant combination may help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

Cold accumulates for 2-3 months and then headache starts. Now days I also get pain back of my head, ears or some time below ears and jaws back side. Avatar m tn m trying to let my stomach settle down so I can get some antihistamine in me. Does this sound like just a bad upset stomach or allergy?
Avatar f tn The liquid gels worked great as a boost to my normal antihistamine for the itching. They were very portable and still and liquid for faster effectiveness. See a dr.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi and thanks for your reply. It seems like more people are telling me that they are getting hypothyroid in middleage or near menopause. Are you on thyroid meds now? As for the antihistamine, I'm not on it for allergies it is to lessen the number of migraines. I am taking a generic med called cyproheptadine that my neurologist gave me. It lowers serotonin. I have been skin tested for a lot of allergies and they all came up negative except the mold came up later.
Avatar n tn It could be allergies, although an good eye doctor should be able to diagnose eye allergy symptoms. Did you see an opthamologist or an optometrist? An opthamologist is a medical doctor specializing in the eye. An optometrist only does vision testing for glasses. I find using contact saline solution as an eye wash and an antihistamine eye drop are very helpful. I like Zaditor for my eye drop and use an antique eye wash cup to wash my eyes twice daily. I hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Found out I am allergic to dog dander, cat hair, dust mites and 2 types of grass( kentucky blue grass and burmuda). Bad thing is my daughter has a dog and 2 puppies in her room:(( I hate to make her get rid of them although we may end up putting them outside eventually. The only symptoms I am having are bumps that itch. I don't have any trouble with sneezing, runny nose or sore throat. Is there any way they can stay in the house and get my symptoms under control?
Avatar m tn SO, NOW FOR THE INTELLIGENT ANSWER.... Mucus over-production is caused by an irritation such as allergy, virus, or bacteria. It's your body's attempt to flush out the offender. In your case, the mucus is clear, seems to come and go, and doesn't come with other symptoms suggestive of infection (fever, malaise, pain, etc). Most likely, you have simple allergies to airborne allergens.
Avatar f tn I have had allergy testing for foods and air borne pollens, etc. I am allergic to dust mites. Could that be a culprit? I live in a fairly dry environment. The humidity according to a temp/humidity gauge I have shows the humidity at 39% and we had two previous days of rain. I thought dust mites needed higher humidity to live?
189372 tn?1219833358 So I guess my question is, can a dust allergy make you feel this ill? My only known allergy is pets, but I am now convinced my problems could be linked to a dust allergy. I have noticed this more lately, after having a few days of work, I slept a lot, and after every sleep I actually wake up feeling worse (Headache, nose completely blocked, pulsating eye pain) Is it the bed?
