antihistamine

Avatar n tn Can i do a allergy skin ***** test while actively suffering from a allergy. Would i get the correct results?
Avatar f tn sounds like a respiratory allergy. take an OTC antihistamine and use a nasal spray like Ocean Saline Spray. Do not mix antihistamines though such as an oral antihistamine and spray. Ocean Spray does not have an antihistamine and will simply dry you out and is safe to use with an antihistamine.

666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn Have you taken oral antiallergic or antihistamine medications for your symptoms? Take loratadine or cetrizine , it will help the lip swelling to subside. You could talk to your doctor/ allergy specialist about the symptoms that you are having and after a clinical examination he/she would be able to tell you whether this is an allergic reaction to the drugs. Let us know about any other doubts that you have and about how you are doing. Post us about what the doctor advises. Regards.
Avatar m tn what are the best antihistamines (dust allergy) for somone with an enlarged prostate?
Avatar m tn Very interesting article. Thanks for posting it. I hope they have a follow-up article at some point in that future that discusses the study more thoroughly. I would be interested in knowing more about the study details.
231441 tn?1333892766 My allergy dr just prescribed me a drug called aterax, as required though evenings only, for my allergy issues. She also told me that it might help with some of the weird sensory stuff. Anyway, I researched this drug - it is one of the first antihistamines, and seems to be very safe. Aside from antiallergy, it's effects include sedation, antianxiety, anti-nausea (I sure need that at the moment), some effect on pain relief, and it also enhances the effects of other pain killers.
Avatar n tn How do I go about doing that? What sort of drugs are there out there for me? I have found Reactin to be useless, as well as a lot of other store brand allergy "relief" drugs. Can my allergies get worse if I don't treat them? What are the consequens of that? I'm always congested. Help!
Avatar n tn If you use an antihistamine thinking it's an allergy when indeed it's really a heart problem, the antihistamine can make the heart worse, so you must get a diagnoses before you treat..... Licking air is usually Nausea or acid reflux....Post nasal drip normally causes a cough...Good luck & let us know what you find out....

Avatar f tn Thank you very much for your response. but i was wondering, why didn't the second pill of the lysine supplement have the same effect, i actually continued to take lysine for two years with no such episode, the same goes for the b vitamin supplement.
Avatar m tn I have allergy and take antihistamine Claritin. Is it immune suppressive? I did some researches but not much talking about it. Hep b inactive status.
Avatar n tn There are many possible allergen including latex allergy, as mentioned above. To identify the underlying cause, allergy testing may be done. Check with an allergologist for proper evaluation. Try to wear hypoallergenic materials, whether clothing or in your toiletries. Antihistamine medications may also help provide relief. Avatar n tn My wife had what we think was a food allergy about 24hrs ago, after eating melon and then exercising, characterized by severe hives all over her body. She has lots of grass/pollen allergies and has sometimes gotten a raspy voice and mild red spots after eating melon before. She took some OTC antihistamines but couldn't sleep, and the hives were really bad this morning, so we went to the hospital, where they gave her an IV with antihistamine and cortisone. The Dr.
Avatar n tn It can be even easier than that. You could alway ask your doc to try free samples of Nasal Sprays for rhinitis, sinusitis. If it works than you know what it is. Then you need to figure out why it happens like if it is allergy or sinusitis and treat it more specifically if you want to. Once way to rule in allergy is antihistamine like Benedryl. If you take an antihistamine and it stops it's more likely rhinitis.
Avatar f tn The reaction is from your immune sys and any allergic reaction is not healthy for your body to experience. It can be serious if the allergy becomes more severe. If you ever experience heart or breathing problems then you will need to seek medical help. Antihistamine will reduce the allergy in most cases and can save lives. Many doctors will recommend carrying an Eppi injector just in case the allergy ever becomes life threatening as affecting your heart or breathing.
