antihistamine

643681 tn?1223407715 i have had my sinus problems over a year now, and also a dry cough for about 10 months that makes me gag, and about 2 weeks now i have been feeling dizzy, just went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics. i don't know what is causing the dizziness, because i heard that sinus can't cause that. can someone tell me what i should do? i hate being dizzy, and its not all the time, it can last for an hour or through the day.
Avatar m tn Hi, I agree with shazbat64, could quite easily be migraines. I think you should visit a chiropractor or osteopath to see if you have something out in your neck, which I have had a massive migraine and dizziness from. I know alot of people don't believe in chiro's though. Also go to your GP and see if it's migraine's. I have taken "PERIACTIN" more than once. It is an antihistamine and used as a migraine preventative.
Avatar n tn since last night i have been having some headaches all over it seems like and i am experiencing dizziness when bending over to pick something up and sometimes just randomly (driving, walking, etc). also my body seems to be getting hot when im under the covers and if i dont stay under the covers i feel cold. suggestions? i did go from a cool house (70F) to the heat (<90F) a couple times yesterday and smoked hookah at night. however, the dizziness occurred prior to hookah. i also have diarrhea.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn I do suffer from allergies but the antihistamine and decongestant has had no affect on dizziness and funny heart feelings. Thanks, Terri. (I'm 44 and my blood pressure is normal sitting and standing, not overweight).
324184 tn?1308076203 While there were some side effects I get more from taking an over the counter antihistamine. So, if it is working and the side effects are minimal, in my opinion I would stay on it. However, if they become intolerable , always seek the advice of your prescribing doctor....keep us posted!
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
648910 tn?1290663083 s exactly how I lost the hearing in my left ear and got a big increase in my dizziness at the same time!! I'm not kidding!!) If meclizine doesn't work for you, maybe Valium would? Since meclizine is sold for motion sickness, I would think it would have (or at least be thought to have) SOME effect on the vestibular system (for some people, anyway).
Avatar f tn Things that help me are reverse ear pops (hold nose and blow and ear will pop, do it several times). Also an antihistamine like Clariton. Pseudophed can help. Chewing gum. When my ear gets that full feeling or I get tinnitus, I do these things and stave off a bout of vertigo which usually comes next. Much vertigo is indeed inner ear related. There is also a nerve back in that direction that can get out of whack. Cervical vertigo is due to a pinched nerve.
568429 tn?1216770861 You should take a nutritional diet and some iron supplements and multivitamins. Exercise and adequate sleep will also help in treating fatigue. Regards and pls keep us posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn I still have headaches dizziness fatigue left side weakness shoulder pain and insomnia.
1415174 tn?1453243103 But, I think there might have been pressure on the ear. She told me to take an antihistamine and I did but I still got it back in 4 months and again in 3 months. I'll definitely look into the ENT. I have a good one in our area.
Avatar n tn My Dr ordered a CT scan a year ago and said i had a deviated septum and some nasal polyps. I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec.
Avatar f tn The worst ones that bother me the most are the EXTREME fatigue, irritability, and the dizziness. I am suppose to take allergy shots but cannot tolerate them. Every time they increase the dose, I react and we have to stop. I have tried and tried to do them but after 4 failed attempts, I am done trying. I have tried medications and am currently on a prescription nasal spray which helps a little bit not enough.
363281 tn?1643235611 my ENT taught me reverse ear pops (hold nose and blow, ears will pop. I did it 52,000 a day. Then I took an otc antihistamine (claritan) and briefly an otc product kept behind the counter of the pharmacist because it is used to make other drugs (not because it is dangerous), pseudophedrine. I chewed gum. I got better. There are other reasons for vertigo and one I'm interested in is a nerve that gets aggravated. Anyway, keep us updated.
Avatar f tn I am experiencing dizziness, nausea, ears fill like they are s topped up, sweating and headaches and when i try to walk i walk into walls, i can't walk in a straight line. This has been going on now for about 6 months or more/ I will be sitting around and all of a sudden out of no wear I will get really lightheaded, start sweating and feel really sick to the point of sometimes vomiting. My ears fill like they are going to bust, it's so much pressure.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Taking diazepam with a sedating antihistamine can cause increased sedation, dizziness, and confusion. It was difficult to find what interacts with the Kanna. I would just use caution because it too can make you sedated. It is ok to take the valerian if you do not take the diazepam (again, only when going to sleep because it is sedating). Just be sure not to take the valerian and diazepam together. They are believed to work in a similar way in the brain.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
1485372 tn?1359545131 we went to the ER and a family doc. and then the specialist and then the VA ENT He got steroids from each one. Nothing worked. He has dizziness every day.
Avatar f tn The meclizine is an antihistamine that may help you. Dizziness is often temporary, and a medicine like that can help you get through it. It may cause sleepiness. You can also take something like Advil for what sounds like body ache.
