Common Questions and Answers about Antibiotics to livestock

antibiotics

Avatar f tn Yet reading this news story, farmers can march down to their local feed store and buy antibiotics for their livestock without a prescription, in Canada but not sure if same in US! Unbelievable, but perhaps coming to an end.
Avatar f tn It may sound counterintuitive, but feeding antibiotics to livestock at low levels may do the most harm. When he accepted the Nobel Prize in 1945 for his discovery of penicillin, Alexander Fleming warned that “there is the danger that the ignorant man may easily underdose himself and by exposing his microbes to nonlethal quantities of the drug make them resistant.” http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/28/opinion/antibiotics-and-the-meat-we-eat.html?
Avatar f tn please people DO NOT take antibiotics they are what cause the illness in the first place! yes doctors say there is "no cure" and you have to "learn to live with your disease" well thats all bs they just want to drill all that into your head but the truth is if you want to get cured you CAN!
Avatar f tn Assuming that he is a grain as opposed to livestock farmer, I assume in the winter he has plenty of free time? Keep in mind that if this is something he stands to inherit this is not unheard of for self employed people as a rule.

1310633 tn?1430224091 As we see the farmers talking about selling their livestock to slaughter because of the inability to feed them due to the draught, Im not sure if this continues, farming and gardening will be an option. Fracking is contaminating the water as well as the water levels are so low in some places that fresh water is mingling with the fresh. Between this and the new bugs that will come as a result if this keeps up, the world will be in real trouble.
Avatar m tn However other dangerous factors in food can affect the production of ACHA quite seriously such as additives, preservatives, stabilizers, coloring, antibiotics, hormone products eaten by livestock or fruits and vegetables sprayed by fertilizers and pesticides. ACHA's work is to make the LDL molecules direclty utilizable for the organism, it does not need a co-factor to bound, ACHA molecules are bounding to the cholesterols ß-OH-ligands. Statins are very advisable to avoid.
12629092 tn?1426354227 I have taken on an elderly cat from someone who can't take care of him anymore and noticed he has a terrible upper respiratory infection. Apparently it has been an ongoing and untreated problem for years. He has all the classic symptoms of an infection with green mucous in the nasil passages, phlegmy cough and occasional drainage from the eyes. I was passing through a local hardware store that carries farm supplies and noticed antibiotics on the shelves.

Avatar n tn I have an 11 year old female German Shepherd who was diagnosed with Lyme's disease in Sept of 2006. She was staying at my parents house in Pennsylvania and my sister took her to the vet because she acted so lame and actually fell down the stairs. She was treated with a month of doxycycline and her titer decreased from 175 to 133. She had another round about 6 months after that and it decreased to 100.
1747881 tn?1546175878 s largest milk-producing state, the new law aims to reduce methane emissions from dairies and livestock operations to 40 percent below 2013 levels by 2030, McCarthy said. State officials are developing the regulations, which take effect in 2024. "We expect that this package ... and everything we're doing on climate, does show an effective model forward for others," McCarthy said.
Avatar f tn At school he would walk me to class, teachers would question if we were dating, we went to prom together, all my friends think we would be adorable together and he wants an official relationship but he's being patient for me, because I say I'm not ready for a relationship when in reality I don't know I want a relationship with him, he always makes me feel good I have a hundred percent trust in him he supports anything I do, he gets along with my friends, but he seems to have more in
Avatar f tn t think that can take the place of the antibiotics..I assume he has had his basic vaccines? Especially rabies. I would suggest taking him in to see the Vet and maybe getting him neutered to boot.
148588 tn?1465778809 I agree that antibiotics are way over used and doctors need to stop relenting to the pressure of patients and not prescribe it, for conditions it's not meant to treat. I also agree that antibiotics aren't the only thing wrong with our food supply. Much of our food is contaminated with glyphosate, which is the main ingredient in Round Up. So much of our food has been modified to the point of not only being unhealthy, it's downright dangerous.
82861 tn?1333453911 When I saw the doxie being pulled out and the end, I really thought he was going to win because the little dogs always seem to win these days. Nice to see the big boys out there for a change. Some day, I WILL have a giant breed. I'm really partial to the deerhounds and wolfhounds, but our dog door and half-acre suburban lot won't allow for it yet. I'd also have to buy a livestock manure fork for poo patrol. LOL!
541953 tn?1262586226 Dayton said Apple weighs about 1,200 pounds and is more pet than livestock. She got her name because she loves to eat apples from the tree the bear had invaded.
Avatar n tn The potato when introduced to Spain from Peru in 1534 was nicknamed "edible stones". The frenchmen refused them. The Germans would feed their livestock with them. The Englishmen were critical to them, because potatoes weren't mentioned in the bible... Since then, the potato has become dear. It provied crabs and proteins of high quality - but it doesn't contain any fat, provitamin A, vitamin E, calcium and B12. 100 grams of potatoes contains 16.
163305 tn?1333668571 We are a food exporting nation, but only if we can grow the food... what we saw in the midwest, which is a key area for food growth - think corn, oats, wheat, soy beans, beef, pork, poultry....... if crops fail to grow, there will be nothing to export. Farmers, already, can't afford to buy grain to feed their livestock, which means they have to sell less than optimal livestock for horrifically, low prices.....

Avatar f tn wondered if u also get yeast infections...antibiotics can cause a flare up of a yeast infection...so do ask for DIFLUCAN to help prevent that issue altogether. Speaking with a Pharmacist may be the best help in knowing what meds would be best for u with the H.Pylori...it can be resistant to antibiotics...and can require a second round. Then, the antibiotics can kill off all teh good bacteria u need, so ask ur dr about taking a probiotic afterward.
