Avatar n tn Hi everyone, I've had two UTI's in the past 4 months, and both of them have been caused by Enterobacter. I've read that this is normally acquired in hospitals (I haven't been a patient recently) and can be much harder to get rid of (often quickly develops drug resistance...) Has anyone else ever had a UTI with Enterobacter? I think UTI's are normally caused by E.Coli and my doctor said it was strange that I would develop two Enterobacter infections.

Avatar f tn In studying the insulin resistance of 29 people with Hepatitis C, Australian researchers have confirmed that they have high insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes. However, almost all insulin resistance was in muscle, with little or none in the liver, a very surprising finding given that Hepatitis C is a liver disease. Insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas, helps the body use glucose for energy. The two most important organs that respond to insulin are the liver and muscle.

Did the AZO testing which tested positive for nitrate so went back on Levaquin and after two days of taking it I wasn't getting much relief so I went to my doctor.
Avatar m tn Aureus (staphylococcus aureus) - run! It is hard to control because it has started to show resistance to a lot of antibiotics. I would just be extra cautious if you have any injury and are at swimming pools or gyms. Apparently staph likes these environments plus hospitals have occasional outbreaks of staph infections.
