When im pregnant i have absolutely no immune system so get horribly sick. With my first i had antibiotics 3 times and have just had a course with my second. Sometimes being deadly sick is much worse for baby as you could miscarry plus there are antibiotics that are safe. Each time i thought i was dying before they gave me anything so maybe ask if you could wait it out before taking anything?

I always used the humidifier and rubbed my chest in really well with vicks rub. We can use that. Green tea with some honey, and breath in all the steam. That's all I've got. Wish I could offer some magic cure. If you end up with a fever, even low grade, call right away. I was very sick with a flu like illness at 6 weeks and I had an ear infection that wasn't going away. I was on augmentin for 10 days.

I was on antibiotics due to bronchitis. Thankful that I got better after being sick for 3 weeks. The doctor knows which are safe and try not to stress. I also called my obgyn and double checked the meds for a piece of mind.

I have a pending root canal but am both worried about the dental infection hurting baby or the antibiotics... the doctors have said the antibiotics I have are perfectly fine for pregnancy but I would feel better to hear all went well by someone else :) Thanks for the read through!

I have been sick a lot, one was a sinus infection after a really bad cold and I needed antibiotics, so you should definitely get checked out.

I know for a fact there are many antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. Infact had to take some in the beginning for a uti, and bronchitis, i was hospitalized.

You can take robitussin only after your first trimester. But if you not sure call the Dr. I'm sick too. I'm taking Tylenol cold . Hope you feel better soon.

By march 2013 I stopped taking the pills and had a depo shot instead. I got sick and took very strong antibiotics for only four days. (they said the effectiveness of the depo shot will lessen if you take antibiotics, is that true?). on the the depo shot my period hasnt been regular, had spotting almost everyday till now:( I took diet pills by the end of march till april. ive been having unprotected sex since December-April because of the contraceptives.

Keep taking it. Antibiotics work only if you take it as prescribed. If you have a bacteria infection and stop now you will have to restart the whole prescription all over again. I too have suffered from a bacteria infection. Not trying to scare you but my Dr said if the bacteria is in your urine and if it gets severe, you can lose baby due to a kidney infection. Try taking it with food. I have been on Amoxicillin for 5 days and haven't had any nausea. Only 2 more days to go.

I ended up with bronchitis, pluricy and the worst sinus infection of my life in my first pregnancy and was put on antibiotics and also ised a saline solution to flush nose. Congestion is also a symptom of pregnancy. Goodluck..

Ugh, very sorry to hear this. As if pregnancy isn't hard enough, being sick on top of it is the worst!! I think you can probably use halls. But I don't want to tell you that for sure because I don't know for sure. Take some hot, steamy showers to loosen up the stuffy nose and head. Drink some tea. I used honey on my throat . . . I know babies can't have honey until a certain age but think a prego mama can have it.

Omgness this is killing me im on these antibiotics and they make me throw up im on fire (my house is at 68 degrees) but im buring up i feel so freaking sick these are miserable! I eat and feel okay for maybe 20 min then im sick as a dog again.

I understand not wanting to give/take drugs unnecessarily but there are occasions where they are warranted! Also most antibiotics are completely safe during pregnancy and pose no risk to the baby.

Hey there. First congrats on pregnancy. Second I am just not having a good time either at the moment. One infection after another.. All lower too. So here's a few things to try.. Put some Vicks ina bowl under a radiator and shut the door for an hour. Also try steaming the bathroom before you have a bath. Take paracetamol and drink hot milk with half a sugar. Also rest as much as poss.

You may need something prescribed from you doctor like antibiotics which some are perfectly safe during pregnancy

Omg that's so true! With my last pregnancy I got super sick for a while too and my Dr gave me antibiotics once he saw I wasn't getting better. I'm hoping this would be the same cus I've been sick for a bit and I'm so tired of it.

So I had to take antibiotics twice during my pregnancy. One time it was the pack you take for like 4 days I believe and its because I had a virus/flu going on then the second time which was like 3-4weeks later I had amoxicillin because again I had came down with a cold but with an ear infection. I was suppose to stay on the amoxocillin for I think was like 10+ days but everytime I would take it I felt my baby move alot and just felt nasty so I ended up taking it for only 2-3 days.

I went for a holiday and developed a vaginal infection, came back and took prescribed pills and creams to get rid of the infection and used my contraceptive pills alongwith it. Im 30 weeks 4days and my doctor already has me on antibiotics for a week and there not working.

I've finally broken down and taken the antibiotics. Temp was 100.2 today. 10 days of azythromyocin. 1 pill a day. Dr. said its safe for pregnancy. I'm also taking probiotics to counteract yeast. Has anyone else been in this situation? Was your pregnancy and baby okay? I'm so worried.

I take a class b medicine that i took thru my first pregnancy and now this pregnancy. Everything is fine. I did take the z pack with my first as well. I got pneumonia when i was 18weeks pregnant.
