5915949 tn?1396188227 I take a class b medicine that i took thru my first pregnancy and now this pregnancy. Everything is fine. I did take the z pack with my first as well. I got pneumonia when i was 18weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn What antibiotics are you taking? Did your dr prescribe these antibiotics for bronchitis knowing that you are pregnant?
Avatar n tn Your doctor is aware of your pregnancy and some antibiotics are perfectly safe during pregnancy. Best to work with your doctor and follow their guidance. Wishing you a quick recovery and easy rest of your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Most antibiotics are safe to take during pregnancy, and that is one of them. The risk of am active infection is much worse. Take the antibiotics.
518733 tn?1333017015 Kflex is safe- two antibiotics to AVOID in pregnancy would be- deoxycycline (spell?) or tetracycline, which are known to have risks. Otherwise- if the dr prescribing the antibiotics isn't your OB be sure to let your OB know that you were prescribed a new medication, they may have their own preference of what you should and should not take- and always ask the pharmacist if you are unsure about any medication..
Avatar f tn It is on the safe list from my obgyn. I also researched it. Its fine in pregnancy. I'm just worried about a severe reaction that will cause bigger problems for me and my baby - throat swelling, etc.things that are highly unlikely. That's why my husband is irritated.
Avatar f tn Hey i was just wondering if its ok to take antibiotics when im 7 weeks pregnant?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Cephalexin for 7 days for a mild UTI, but i am very worried and skeptical about taking antibiotics, any of you have taken antibiotics? Or no anything about the risks? Thank you so much ladies!
Avatar n tn It may have risk during pregnancy. However, think the risks would be for high dose over longer period (remember my last post that Drs. told m3 there's low blood flow the the embryo early on so risk is low) (animal studies use very high doses so may not translate to human usage). But better stop the drug if you haven't already. Omeprazole also Category C. Issue again is with high dose likely.
Avatar m tn The antibiotics will not do anything to protect you. If you are receiving oral sex there is a chance of contracting HSV-1 he or she has it.
Avatar f tn t even know I had a UTI that had gotten worse. With this pregnancy, My doctor wanted me to be on antibiotics the entire pregnancy just because kidney infections are so serious and dangerous during pregnancy. Talk do you doctor about how the benefits outweigh the risks.
Avatar f tn I had a couple different antibiotics with those as risks and never had an issue, if the benefits outweigh the risks, they'll prescribe that, double check with your doctor but it's probably fine to take, a lot of medicines will say terrible things that can happen.
Avatar f tn Definitely call your dr. The risks of a uti are alot worse then risks of antibiotics. I've been on antibiotics twice during this pregnancy & my little guy is still doing perfect.
Avatar m tn 3) If the test comes out negative, does that mean that i have never been exposed at all to gonorrhea and chlamydia, since the antibiotics i took have are not the recommended antibiotics to clear the bacteria infection? I really love my gf and really regretted my actions. Your input would really put me at ease while i wait for my test results. Thank You.
Avatar n tn I keep googling it and it tells me the risks just scared tbh about its affects. Also tells me the risks of having antibiotics through labour.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Apo-Cephalex 500mg (to be taken four times a day until finished) by an ER doctor & the warnings say "Not to be taken during pregnancy & breastfeeding unless benefits outweigh the risks." Its for an infected ingrown toenail that bleeds, oozes pus, is red & swollen. Im 27w+1d & scared to take them. Ive soaked my foot in warm epsom salt water, used polysporin, rubbing alcohol & nothing seems to work. Ive had it for about two weeks now. Any input?
Avatar f tn Am worried about my first pregnancy and would appreciate medical information on risks to the embryo development. Am considering options in a foreign land.
Avatar f tn I have a kidney infection and in on keflex anti biotic. If they prescribed anti biotic its BC its important, kidney infection can cause pre term labor and it was complicating my pregnancy. I'm 21 weeks out of my first trimester though, if u were really worried u can call you're dr and ask about the risks.
403788 tn?1237037212 After she reassured me a thousand times that it was safe for the baby i agree to take the antibiotics for 7 days. I just finished my antibiotics today and they call me and say my pap came back and I have a vag infection and there calling me in a scirpt. At this point I am not comfortable with how much medication they have me taking, im only 14w is it ok for the baby for me to be taking things end on end like this?
1472764 tn?1287588186 I've finally broken down and taken the antibiotics. Temp was 100.2 today. 10 days of azythromyocin. 1 pill a day. Dr. said its safe for pregnancy. I'm also taking probiotics to counteract yeast. Has anyone else been in this situation? Was your pregnancy and baby okay? I'm so worried.
Avatar f tn I took keflex and it made me break out in hives due to my pregnancy some antibiotics are safe during pregnancy that's one of them
Avatar f tn Do you happen to know what class of antibiotics that drug is in? There is a new study just published by the CDC that looked at two specific classes of antibiotics and pregnancy: sulfanamides ("sulfa drugs") and nitrofurantoins. Please keep in mind that even where certain antibiotics have been linked to negative effects on the fetus, it isn't a given.
Avatar f tn s why at every ob visit they test your urine for one. Antibiotics are very low risk during pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was on them 6 times.
Avatar f tn I can't say for sure because there are different types of antibiotics and different dosages, etc. But I can tell you that in my last pregnancy I needed to take antibiotics for a tooth problem and it didn't seem to effect that pregnancy. My son just turned 1 yr and seems prefect to me. ;-) I was really worried about it too but I didn't really have a choice. I needed the meds. Thankfully everything turned out well.
