antibiotics

Avatar n tn Your doctor is aware of your pregnancy and some antibiotics are perfectly safe during pregnancy. Best to work with your doctor and follow their guidance. Wishing you a quick recovery and easy rest of your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I can't say for sure because there are different types of antibiotics and different dosages, etc. But I can tell you that in my last pregnancy I needed to take antibiotics for a tooth problem and it didn't seem to effect that pregnancy. My son just turned 1 yr and seems prefect to me. ;-) I was really worried about it too but I didn't really have a choice. I needed the meds. Thankfully everything turned out well.
Avatar f tn You probably mean zytromax. I took them on my first pregnancy and everything went well. It was a 7day treatment. I had an awful infection on my lungs due to influenza. But my baby is great and healthy, his 10 now.
9771234 tn?1405793808 Most antibiotics are safe during pregnancy. If you told your primary Dr that you were pregnant they would've chosen meds safe for you. I've been on them twice so far and I'm almost 29 weeks and baby is great.
11157192 tn?1430159059 no they are %100 perfectly fine to take they will not harm your baby at all. i've been on keflex 3 times throughout ny pregnancy for an abscess I had. its totally safe. its a weak antibiotic anyway. you and your baby are fine.
Avatar f tn I have a pending root canal but am both worried about the dental infection hurting baby or the antibiotics... the doctors have said the antibiotics I have are perfectly fine for pregnancy but I would feel better to hear all went well by someone else :) Thanks for the read through!
1840402 tn?1355432565 I took antibiotics awhile back for an upper respiratory infection, and baby is still doing well, highly active and everything. I know it's hard, but I do think the doctor wouldn't give you anything that was dangerous for the baby.
Avatar f tn Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.
Avatar f tn Is going to hurt the baby to take antibiotics when your 4 weeks? Well its really for bronchitis.
5915949 tn?1396188227 I took a z-pack two months ago for a double ear infection, i was 20 weeks and no problems. And i just finished a different course of antibiotics for a uti. Both meds were class b drugs. The benefits def. outweighed the risks for me. But its up to you and whatever you decide.
Avatar f tn m sure they can prescribe you something that is safe for you and baby. Tell your husband it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Avatar f tn Yup all 3 of my pregnancies I've had to take antibiotics at some point or another. Right now I'm on some for a uti I've also been on them for a sinus infection and a kidney infection during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn m not sure about azithromycin there are safe antibiotics but not all are safe to take during pregnancy. Do not take anything without asking or seeing your Dr.

Avatar f tn I got bit by a dog on my leg and the bite wasn't to bad but it did break skin so I got put on antibiotics for 10 days and I'm nervous that it's not ok to take. But Iv been taking the recommended dose for like 3 days now. I'm 19 weeks pregnant now.
Avatar f tn Is it harmful to the baby if im taking antibiotics for bronchitis? And I am only about 1 month .
Avatar f tn With my first i had antibiotics 3 times and have just had a course with my second. Sometimes being deadly sick is much worse for baby as you could miscarry plus there are antibiotics that are safe. Each time i thought i was dying before they gave me anything so maybe ask if you could wait it out before taking anything?
Avatar f tn my cousin was 5 months when her doctor prescribed her metronidazole and she recently lost her baby, i think she was high risk pregnancy which is why it happened but you should make sure you arent high risk n take other safer medicines. just be on the safe side try not to take it if you dont really need it.
Avatar f tn It shouldnt affect ur baby...they actually prescribe the same antibiotics during pregnancy.
214607 tn?1287677559 I know for a fact there are many antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. Infact had to take some in the beginning for a uti, and bronchitis, i was hospitalized.
518733 tn?1333017015 Kflex is safe- two antibiotics to AVOID in pregnancy would be- deoxycycline (spell?) or tetracycline, which are known to have risks. Otherwise- if the dr prescribing the antibiotics isn't your OB be sure to let your OB know that you were prescribed a new medication, they may have their own preference of what you should and should not take- and always ask the pharmacist if you are unsure about any medication..
Avatar f tn Your doctor should prescribe you something safe for your pregnancy...not saying that thats not safe because I'm not sure but when I had a UTI I got prescribed amoxcycillon..i think thats how u spell it..the reassured me it was safe for my baby. You can ask your doctor...he/she should know. If your not sure about using it ask for something else?
550943 tn?1330727580 Just wondering if anyone has taken antibiotics in early pregnancy? I am ten weeks and have the flu so the dr gave me "pregnancy safe" antibiotcs to try to clear up my chest. I know they are classed as safe but i am still a little nervous about taking them!

1697869 tn?1306766843 Okay guys. I'm freaking out because I found out a 4 weeks I was pregnant, then at 5 I got strep throat. Dr. prescribed Amoxicillin and I took it. Now, looking back I'm really really afraid I may have hurt my baby (I'm 9 weeks now) I understand that I had to take it or it the strep could have hurt the baby. Now, to top it all off, I got a yeast infection from the antibiotics and I don't know what to do. I'm mortified at the idea of taking another medicine. HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Yes, i can assure u the infection is worse for baby than antibiotics, there is a list of anti biotics safe to take during pregnancy.
