I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. For all these antibiotics, i received strong reassurance that they are safe to take to treat my common occuring respiratory infections. I am concerned. Is there anyone here who took many antbx during pregnancy and had a healthy child? AMEN...
I am currently taking the antibiotic metronidazole for SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). I just ordered some kimchi for the first time, but upon looking it up online I saw that it's a probiotic. Should I not eat it if I'm taking an antibiotic?
I'm taking antibiotics, including Metronidazole 500mg for h.pylori. I was at my sister's wedding last night and took 2 glasses of bubbly to toast with the guests, and then switched to water all night (being under the impression that antibiotics just worsen the impact of the alcohol so this is why you shouldn't drink). About 6-7 hours later I started feeling really unwell (nausea, frequent washroom trips, flushed skin)..
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

Is metronidazole safe during pregnancy??...I had some smelly discharge so I went to see a doc nd they found out I had bacteria overgrowth nd that's wat they gave me that...has anyone taken it before??

.. My doctor prescribed me metronidazole 4 pills 500 mg each to take all at once.. So me and him ate and then took them this morning/afternoon around mabey 130 or 2 pm.. Well I have been feeling real nauseous and having diharea.. Long story short I three up what looked like everything I've ate today.. Does this mean the meds won't work or did they have enough time to disolve and work its way into my system whenre throwing up wouldn't matter?
Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
If anyone has used the following antibiotics, please let us know what happened? I don’t expect it to heal patm, even though it has a small chance of succeeding, but it would provide important information.

I’ve seen posts of at least two people in the past who claimed they were cured with metronidazole but then it returned months later.
I am on antibiotics, Metronidazole, and I am planning to get a rapid HIV test soon. Does taking these antibiotics produce false results? I know the rapid test looks for antibodies produced to counter HIV, but would taking these antibiotics prevent the body from producing antibodies, thus creating a false negative result?
Hi, I wanna have some information about why is unprotected sex not efficient while taking the antibiotics? Is it because of theres a higher percentage of getting pregnanat or is it because of the infection? When I was 19 years old I contracted chlamydia. It was treated with antibiotics. Several years later I contracted chlamydia and gonorrhea. Antibiotics were once again used to treat the diseases. A couple of years have passed and again I find myself with STD symptoms. Unfortunately I am currently in Asia and I have had difficulty getting tested and treated properly. During mid December 2012 I noticed discharge from my penis.

I had wisdom tooth taken not very nicely. I developed an infection in the area. They prescribed antibiotics to take - penicillin vk and METRONIDAZOLE. (Flagyl)
doctors of course dont know if flagyl is safe for me to take,. Since it is an azole i was concerned and looked up the drug and sure enough liver toxicity is one of the possible sides.

Amoxicillin + metronidazole may be more effective than amoxicillin alone. After extraction , amoxicillin, metronidazole, Tylenol, and Advil are effective post op pharmacological intervention, which yields minimal post op discomfort.
When I found out that I had trich, I bought Metronidazole and took 2grams (1 dosage) of it. Metronidazole made me feel really sick! Anyway, after a week I realized that I still had trich. Exactly the same symptoms were still there. So, I took Tinidazole.. a 2g dose. When will this take effect? I took tinidazole after I had dinner and went to sleep right away so that I won't feel the side effects of which I had when I took Metronidazole.
