bactrim is a good antibiotic for uti and has a generic on the 4 dollar list at walmart im going through a uti right now it does need treatment id get to a doc as soon as i could if i were her i also have irraitation during sex down there but im starting to get a little better since i got my antibiotics also but AZO over the counter at walmart its for uti symptoms and i got the generic bactrim 4 dollars at walmart pharmacy were i also work

I haven't used coconut oil for a uti but its great for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal properties. Same with olive leaf extract.

Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.

List does go on trust me that's all I've had since I've been pregnant .. Just try to drink water as much as you can it seems to flush out the bacteria . I'm on antibiotics for my UTI cause it always comes & goes. My lead to a kidney infection & it wasn't fun. Never hold your pee try not to eat or drink a whole bunch of sugar too, that seems to trigger it .

When the results come back if a bacteria was grown a list of antibiotics comes with it lettin us knw if the medicine the pt is on wrks or not. Remember only treat a uti if u have symptoms like burning and frequency. If you go to the doc. And are they find an infection but u have no symptoms leave it alone. But call your doc. The medicine u r taking could not be wrkin for u which means ur resistant.

I had to take a 7 day antibiotic when I had a uti and my baby is healthy. I would only take the ones a doc gives you knowing your pregnant. I don't think all of them are safe.

Yes, Trimethoprim/sulfa is a common drug for UTIs. I'll try not to get too technical, but Zithromax is prescribed a lot of times for "upper respiratory infections." Generally (although there are exceptions of course), the bacteria that cause things like sinus infections/pneumonia are not the same as those that cause UTIs.

She said she have had UTI after sex like 20 years ago and it got cleared by antibiotics. She had UTI another time couple of years later. She said she always keeps her hands clean to prevent UTI when having sex (which makes me doubt if she only had UTI twice or more in her life?). I'm getting bladder infections about every 18 days and this started 2 years ago. Cultures are always done and it's always a different bacteria than what I was just treated for. I also have IC. I've had a bladder distension, botox and just a week ago another cystoscopy. I have extremely similar symptoms to you. I had a bad UTI for a guy and while several tries on antibiotics helped, the symptoms have never truly gone and I relapse into them from time to time. In my case I go into a detox mode for a few weeks before visiting the doctors as they are convinced I have an std or something. The UTI may have been because of a partial blockage in the ureter. I am assuming that the UTI was confirmed and you were not merely put on antibiotics due to symptoms alone. If that is the case a missed appendicitis would also be possible. Gallbladder dysfunction would be a little further down the list.

So basically about 3 months ago I experienced the basic uti and got treated the antibiotics however weren’t helping(I was seen at a urgent care so they didn’t culture my urine) then I went to my doctor she cultured and gave me a different antibiotic which took all the symptoms away, however she told me the culture was negative after finishing the antibiotics it came back almost instantly about 1 day after so I repeated this cycle about 5 times out of 5 cultures 1 came back with ALOT of bacteria

t want any water infections ( I am assuming you are referring to bladder or UTI) to go untreated when you are pregnant. I have heard of many women getting antibiotics for a bladder infection and some women were even able to take some for a really bad sinus infection. Try not to stress too much - your doc knows your pregnant right??
