Avatar f tn new (clean) cotton sock, filled with a handful of white rice and tie it closed. Place in microwave for 30 seconds. This heats the rice and emits moisture. Test to make sure not too hot. Place over his eye while he's asleep. Do this nightly for the next week if possible. It can also be injected with a low dose steroid. Difficult for a 4 yo. Sincerely, Timothy D.
Avatar f tn My 14 year old daughter had H pylori and Gastritis. She used a heated rice pack on her stomach. She has been left with a dark blood vessel pattern on her stomach. Is this a burn and if so, how do we treat it. How long will it last and will self tanners help?
Avatar n tn We have a 11 year old pit bull who developed a lump under her jaw about 3 months ago. She was treated for an infected tooth With 2 rounds of meds and also a dental cleaning to make sure the tooth did not need to be pulled. We thought we were good. But it returned 2 weeks ago. This time the vet took a sample, which came back as just an infection, and he put her on a very strong antibiotic that he has very good results with and said she needs to stay on it for 3 weeks. She is on her second week.
Avatar n tn but since them with exception of fever every 3 days she weaks up during the night vomiting and having stomch pain that last 24 and reocurring in a pattern of 3 days....I just took her to the doctor... I was informed that is a virus and I should treat only with antibiotics... I wonder if it is not necessary having blood test done...
Avatar n tn Second, you made a mistake with the antibiotics. NEVER give an animal antibiotics left over from a previous condition. In fact, you should never have antibiotics left over, because all antibiotics are given as a course - and the course should always be given in full and as directed, even after the dog has recovered from whatever was ailing him.
Avatar n tn Gastroenteritis can be produced from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I agree with michell221. Candida is a yeast that frequently overgrows in the bowels for various reasons. A common reason is antibiotic use which kills off the good balance maintaining digestive bacteria as she said. Eliminating or at least greatly reducing your simple carbohydrates intake will help to stop the over growth as it reduces the "food" for the yeast. In addition to the foods michell221 mentioned, potatoes and rice and all processed grains can be a problem.
Avatar m tn ve also switched to a Vegan diet as more of a lifestyle choice. May order some Brown Rice powder and restore in the next few weeks.

Avatar f tn Hey ladies I was wondering if its bad to not re heat the rice up good? (Chinese rice lol) Would it contain any bacteria if I don't?
Avatar f tn I have the worst taste in my mouth. First, it started off as a metallic/copperish taste. Now, it's progressing to a soapy taste. No matter how much I drink, brush my teeth, or rinse my mouth out with soap, I still have this awful taste. I went to the dentist today and he said everything was fine... no gingivitis, irritation, etc. Nothing. The only thing I can think of is I took an antibiotic (ciprofloxacin) for a sinus infection weeks ago. Other than that, nothing.
Avatar f tn t eat that since he probably associates it with not feeling well so he gets what he will eat (he lost weight so we want him to eat) which again is cooked for him- chicken liver and kibbles in the morning (organic) and rice and pot roast in the evening. He is eating fine right now and has put back 2 of the pounds he lost.
Avatar f tn I've had severe(yellow) diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting for two weeks. I was prescribed Novaclav 625mg antibiotics, loperamide hydrochloride 2mg, and probiotics for three days. While taking this course, I felt somewhat better. But by day 4, I was very dehydrated and went to a local hospital. They then gave me stat doses of IV DNS+MVL, Drotin IV, Emeset 4mg IV, and Pantop 40 IV. Following this, I was prescribed with 5 days of T. Ciplox TZ, T. Mehrogyl 200, C.
Avatar n tn I would describe what I pull out as something that looks like a small piece of white rice. It is long, thin, and incredibly tough - once removed it leaves a little hole in my skin which takes a few days to heal. I have been to several doctors who all just say "ingrown hairs." However, sometimes I get these in a follicle where there is no hair growing, but just this white thing. I also tend to get them in groups. Usually if I find one, there are a couple others nearby.
Avatar f tn If you have been on any antibiotic treatment recently, they kill off the good bacteria that supresses HPylori bacteria in the stomache, many people have this bacteria and do not know it until antibiotics kill all good and bad, but this bacteria can survive some antibiotics, and the good bacteria cannot, so the HPylori thrives in and creates excess acid, which if left untreated can cause ulcers and stomache cancer in extreme cases, and because it increases acid, it can also irritate and burn the
Avatar f tn He got a shot of antibiotics and I got sent home with clavamox. He ate a little that evening. Then after I gave him the dose yesterday he ate some boiled turkey and some nonfat Greek yogurt. So in the evening I gave him the supplement they gave for liver and he threw up 90 min later. Today not eating. It says take antibiotics with food. But I’ve tried fried egg, baby food, boiled chicken with rice and some turkey. Not taking anything and not drinking water.
689528 tn?1364135841 Some ideas...not sure if you've tried these already. 1) Rule out/experiment to determine if this is possible Food Allergies: You mentioned switching dog food to one that is wheat and corn free. One of my female pointer dogs racked up numerous vet bills where they did skin scrapings, I tried benadryl, vet put her on repeated courses of antibiotics and prednisone and none of these resolved her ongoing skin issues.
Avatar n tn s off again, the loose poops start right back up again. When formed, her poops can be greyish-yellowish in color and at times, can look like they're in a balloon of slime. When medium-bad diahreah, it has the consistency of soft serve ice cream and is very grainy (yellow beady), when really bad it's almost like a soup. We've had poop samples done, blood work for pancreas/kidney/liver...
Avatar f tn About 2 months ago I adopted a 2 year old cardigan welsh corgi from the pound. She had an UPI when I got her so she was on antibiotics for two weeks. During that time she wouldn't eat and all she would do is sleep. Now, ever since she has better she is perfectly fine except now she inhales her food. I feed my dogs Purina Beneful. Can this behavior hurt her in anyway and if so how can I make her slow down?
Avatar f tn consider that the Immune System of a child is not as strong as that of an adult. moreover each person carries different immunity. if it really was a virus there isn't much you can do, do not give him antibiotics of any sort. integrate with water and salt to compensate the diarrhea. "Homemade solutions recommended by WHO include salted drinks (e.g. salted rice water or a salted yoghurt drink) and vegetable or chicken soup with salt." Wiki.
Avatar f tn He is currently on no prescribed drugs or anything of any kind. He was only on the antibiotics for 5 days. He is booked in for a post neutering check up with my vet on Monday but I was hoping for some advice in the meantime. Can anyone suggest a good kitten food to maybe settle his stomach?
