2177976 tn?1342045640 I then did a combination of putting him to the breast at every feeding, then feeding him a bottle of formula while I pumped. I kept this up until 6 weeks, then he just began refusing to eat from the breast...I think it's because he got so tired of me continually trying to latch him on properly that he got too frustrated and would just scream & cry. I then strictly pumped and supplemented with formula until 10 weeks, when I couldn't keep it up anymore do to my schedule.

Avatar f tn So i plan on breast feeding with my first baby <3 right now i am almost 25 weeks along but i am already leaking colostrum. My family thinks that the baby should do formula also but im worried about nipple confusion and her not wanting to breast feed once bottle fed.
Avatar n tn You may have an infection that needs antibiotics. Mastitis is very common when beast feeding. It does require antibiotics! It will not go away on its own. You need to call your doctor as soon as possible so the infection doesn't worsen. With antibiotics, it clears up quickly and many women can breast feed through treatment or pump during treatment. Emptying the infected breast is really important. Start breast feeding on that side or pump.
Avatar f tn So im debating on if i should breast feed or not .. Any moms breast feeding now or have before and what do yall think ?
Avatar f tn when I was breast feed i noticed that my son would not drink out of my right breast, he would mainly/always drink the left one. he would act like he could not get a good hold on it. now i have been off breast feeding for a year now and my right breast, the one he wouldn't drink out of, hurts to the touch on the right side of the breast. i heard the if your child wont drink out of one of your breast that it could be a sight of breast cancer.
Avatar n tn I feel like its getting a little worse and is slightly tender to the touch. Im not breast feeding so i dont have any milk coming in anymore. Im just wondering if anyone has ever had this before. Im taking my son to see the dr. Wednesday so im gonna ask him about it. It really hurts and disrupts my sleep alot. No shortness of breath, but it almost hurts to inhale when i wake up with it.
Avatar f tn I am a mother of 2 kids: a girl and a baby boy. I am a breast feeding mother. My baby boy is 7 month-old and my boobs always feels tender and every time I touch my boobs I feels 1-4 lumps. I can also see or notice red spot on my boobs and it feels painful on that red spot. When I tried to check my boobs, I felt 1-4 lumps around it. I went to the doctor maybe 3 times already and gave my antibiotics. Every time I take the medicine the pain and lumps would disappear but still comes back.
Avatar f tn He is a week old today and sore far I have had a crack/bleeding nipple, so I stopped feeding on that breast and jump pumped until it felt better. Now I'm feel like I'm fighting engorgement daily. But now I have this burning feeling in my breast and read that it could be a yeast infection. It just started yesterday and today I decided to stop feeding him by my breast and just pump. I'm boiling all bottle and pump supplies for 20min.
Avatar f tn If breast-feeding and taking any antibiotic cease breast-feeding. This does not necessarily mean a baby will damage itself by consuming milk from a mother taking antibiotics (after all, we give babies antibiotics when they have infections), however it represents an unnecessary risk. You also risk infecting the baby with your lung infection. A daily D3 supplement (not just D) is an excellent suggestion. There are other options besides anti-biotics, but they are not currently available.
Avatar n tn Since you're breast feeding it's likely you've got a clogged milk duct (for more information: http://www.**********.com/0_plugged-milk-ducts_8494.bc). If you're uncertain, the best thing you could do at the moment is to see if the lump changes in size and texture as time pass; keep track on how its properties are connected to your period and hormone levels in your body. If the lump hasn't disappeared, you should contact your doctor. :) Most breast lumps are benign.
Avatar f tn my daughter is 3 months old ,she has been passing mucus in stools for about 4 weeks now and some times there are spots of blood in the mucus ,I took her to the doc but not found the cause yet
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry for a delay in response and we thank you for your question. That you have already spoken to a doctor each time you discovered a lump is great. That is the best way to take care of yourself. I think the best thing is to see an ob/gyn specialist for your care at this point. Urgent care is excellent for those situations that are acute but ongoing care at a regular doctor helps keep care consistent. Did the urgent care doctor begin antibiotics?
Avatar f tn Pumping will help keep up your milk supply and prevent your breast from getting engorged or overly full. You can store your milk to give to your baby in a bottle for another feeding. But if parts of your breast pump that contact the milk also touch the sore(s) while pumping, you should throw the milk away.
Avatar n tn If your ultrasound is clear, it is a reassuring sign (a mammogram is difficult to interpret in younger women and in lactating breasts). Also, let me mention that an early breast cancer is usually a painless mass. I strongly recommend that you seek an early appointment with a breast health unit or a breast specialist. All the best, and God Bless!
Avatar f tn Most insurances will cover a breast pump now, call yours and ask what their policy is. I'm breast feeding my son, but also bottle feeding pumped milk. He doesn't need to be held all the time and I still get stuff done. Either way you'll have to sit and feed the baby, so it really makes no difference. Also if you're pumping and bottle feeding you're supposed to pump at least as many times as the baby eats, so it won't save you any time really.
Avatar f tn do you put any in his baby food ? also if you are breast feeding the food you eat will go into your breast milk , so perhaps lessen some spiceyness ...
Avatar f tn Took care of my daughters oral thrush and the thrush in my breast (from her feeding) in literally 24hrs. The antibiotics didnt even work for either of us.
Avatar f tn As long as you continue to switch breast at each feeding. And I also pumped in between times you should be fine. I actually got it while pregnant with my second child toward the end. But it all worked out.
Avatar f tn i have a infection of the breast and i am on antibiotics and i was wondering is there a chance it can spread to the baby
Avatar n tn I was unable to breast feed. Although research shows its the best. So give it a go if it feels right for you. My 2 children was formula feed babies and are healthy and have good immune system only ever been on antibiotics once in their lifetime and they are now age 6 and 8. Very rarely get a cold or flu in fact I can't remember the last time. What I am saying if breast feeding works for you great, if it doesn't don't be to hard on your self.
Avatar f tn Bottles can interfere with breast feeding. I'm due ina few weeks and I'm already stressing about breast feeding in public. Sounds like you are discrete though. I don't think there's much you can do unless you are really worried and do use a bottle.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Not enough is known about the use of chlorella during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.
Avatar f tn As long as your not making a big deal about it and not making a scene because your breast feeding in public then go on and do it! But the other day I was at the mall with my mother in law and sister in law and we were walking around this store. Everything fine were talking looking at clothes and there is a lady breast feeding. Well her baby unlatched and she said "awe your all done sweetie.... You must still be hungry but I'll leave it right here if you want more" the.

514686 tn?1212092527 Hi, I have just stopped breast feeding about a week ago. I was experiencing some soreness in one of my breast, so I finally felt around and where it is sore, there is a small lump. Probably the size of a small grape. Is this mestitus? Or could it possibly be cancer.
